That put me in a good mood…what the fuck is this feeling? Quick, someone get me some depressing music and pictures of starving children so I can get back to normal.

You want sad?
Fine!

Look!
She broke her glasses!
I hope you're happy!

…what the hell is going on here? That's right forum, I've found time to post here. And I've tried to catch up (but failed at doing so). Holy smokes, you guys have been busy. Anyway, I'm still gone (sorry Fifths, I don't have the time, so you're going to have to wait a bit longer for my OMGing on smutty pony pics). Be known that the Mandalorian misses you, but is alright where he is. I had fun (and was horrified at) some of the topics that come up in my absence. So, just wanted to get that out. Oh, and Lunar Dawn readers should expect that within two weeks (a week, I hope though), Parts III and IV will come out. More tissues will be required (especially with the stuff I've had time to think about over here). Anyway, that's what I wanted to say. Keep the messages coming.

I've missed your rants bro. Don't stay gone too long.

Awesome pic completely unrelated to anything:

Because Surprise came first, mostly.

People seem to be ignoring that. Besides, we know that pony genetics don't have to work so directly in terms of the races.

Exercising those apathy skills, Explosive? Well I don't care that you don't care! What now?

You know, as canon color schemes go, I find Surprise's to be one of the oddest. White and yellow just don't go together that well, if you ask me. I mean, she doesn't look so bad in a wonderbolt suit, but otherwise.

I think Luna's is probably my favorite color combo.

Hmm, that's a heck of a girly image. Don't care, it's Luna.

Regarding this:

Who is that pony on the right? I've seen her everywhere but have no idea who she is other than that she's from some tumblr. In other words: Is she a background pony or an OC?

That's Surprise. A… G1 pony. Basically old Pinkie Pie.

Holy crap. All the pictures I posted on this page are gone? Can any of you guys see my pictures? By the way, Synchtube is Saturday at 6:00 P.M.
[edit]: I also can't see half of the pictures that were posted on this page anymore.

Still seeing everything.

Try restarting your internet or just refreshing the page. It's probably your internet being a dick.

Everyone feeling burnt out from all the tl;dr of the last few pages? Can't say I blame ya, but I've got a topic suggestion, if any of you feel like discussing it.

I've been pondering it lately after making this vector:

When I looked up Zecora pics for reference, I noticed that some people accuse her of being an African stereotype. Assuming they are using the stigmatized version of the word "stereotype," I wondered why a character's strong ethnic indicators are automatically deemed some kind of slight. Maybe I'm misunderstanding them. But if they are indeed viewing Zecora as an unfair generalization, I can't help but disagree. In my view, Zecora is treated respectfully by the writing of the show, even if her seemingly sorcerous illusions in Luna Eclipsed may have been somewhat over the top. If a character whose origins were obviously foreign to the main characters was somehow depicted badly, then maybe they'd have a point, but as is, I just don't see it.

@Dan:

The way I see it, the show and Zecora herself actually tell you to look past stereotypes, preconceptions, assumptions, and all of that. They though Zecora was scary, but she was just from a different culture and had hobbies. Sure, she may be able to be viewed as a stereotypical African tribesman, but you have to realize she is an entirely different race with a different culture. She's not going to be exactly like the ponies.

Furthermore, she kind of inverted stereotypes by showing that they were all just friendly gestures (the welcome signs, the nursery rhymes, etc.).

As for rhyming all the time…

Well, black people rap well, right?

Well, I'm gonna do something I will majorly regret! And I hope everyone or anyone can forgive me for what I'm a bout to say.

The furries in this fandom are slowly killing it. Heck, the furries are killing this fandom.

Again, I'm sorry, frustrating day. No offense to anyone.

Hello, Newman.

@Dan
Well, I can't really complain, being a walking Chicano stereotype most of the time. Even if she is stereotypical of African tribesmen, she has great character and is a wise role model to most of the ponu. Especially Apple Bloom. And she rhymes on a dime! AMAZING!

that’s a heck of a girly image.

Redundant statement is redundant.

Need I remind you that this is a show for little girls?

We just watch it because it happens to be superior than most other television shows.

Oh, I know. I was merely observing that this image in particular looks… I don't know, like something out of the pony equivalent of Vogue or something, with that hairdo. Then again, I might just be a little crazy, who knows. And you know, it may be "for girls", but you have to admit, it's not exactly Barbie, now is it?

@Explosive Lasers

That's basically what I'm getting at. How does showing a different cultural background amount to an African stereotype? Even the rhyming thing isn't a negative portrayal, as some have said. It would actually be pretty difficult. Where Zecora comes from, perhaps one is considered a little dense if they can't rhyme every sentence.

Please explain to us how they are ruining this fandom. I'm not a furry myself, but I don't see anything wrong with them. They're just regular people, like you and me. Why do you have to be prejudiced against them? I expect not to get a response from you, but why did you post that here?

@That Guy

Anyways I found this today as I was talking a break from coloring my avatar (which will be featured on Mexican Android's Thread because he created it).

I have nothing else to contribute today because my mind is mostly focused on chemistry right now, so enjoy this video.

@Scary things
I know I'm late to the conversation, but whatever….

This guy from the Food Network show "Sweet Genius" scares the bejesus out of me. He's like a humanized Pinkemena and I wouldn't be surprised if he has a "basement." Watch the show if you don't believe me.
shudder

Oh never mind the fact I said I'm sorry about what I said, go on and downvote me I guess, just having a frustrating day, no one asked.

Well first off, I am a brony myself, and I was not trolling, I came here posting, in many words, that I meant no offense to furries and I was having a frustrating day, hoping that I could talk with any of you about it, which I know you can from past pages I've seen.

Well, apology accepted.
Just know that we bronies like other subcultures here at KYM, and we try to live in peace and harmony with them. The furries haven't done anything bad, and the ones I've met IRL have been very amiable.

Thank you, that's what I've been wanting to talk about.

Well you see the whole furry and pony thing has been on my mind since I became a brony.
Well today, all was going normal, I was looking through an artist who came back to dA, so I wanted to see what was recent, and in her faves there happened to be one of those softcore porn pics of Rainbow Dash.

Then, all the problems I had came rushing back, and I came here hoping to talk about it, and the rest is history!

Those aren't furries, those are cloppers. There's a difference.
Mind you, I believe the cloppers should be tolerated just like everypony else, R34 exists in every fandom- and it really isn't hurting anybody.

I tend to find furries are welcoming, kind, and generally nicer than most of the internet.

By no means are they killing the fandom. We can't blame a single group for it, no matter how hated they are by the masses. The hate originates from ignorance, just as the hate for MLP usually does, so it's hypocritical to speak out against them without full knowledge.

Furries are not harming the fandom. They're not harming anybody.

Edit: And beyond furries themselves, clopper are just as harmless. Big fucking whoop if somebody wants to fap to a pony. People have, and will, fap to worse, and it's not as if it harms the fandom in any way.

Considering the size of the brony community, the r34 is relatively low.

@That-guy

It's unfortunate that you're having a rough day, I'm sorry to hear that.

But when posts seem merely inflammatory while lacking any actual substance, such as an explanation of your position on the matter, it's not terribly surprising that the message would go over poorly.

I certainly harbor no hard feelings toward you, but you must admit, that was a pretty shaky way to start a conversation. Opinions are much easier to listen to when they don't sound like outbursts.

I think what you need is a few laughs, so…

Rule 34, eh?

I personally don't mind Rule 34 myself, it's just one of those things you have to deal with. If you don't like R34, you should probably go out and buy some of this stuff and keep it beside you at all times.

Still, I don't care who's a furry and who's not a furry. We're equal all human beings. Each of us have our fetishes, let them have their fun, and you can have yours. I personally don't think that R34 is a big deal, every fandom has it. You're just gonna have to deal with it.

That-guy wrote:

By furries, I meant those disgusting, fucked up ones, guess I should have said that now that I think about it.

What do you mean?

The people that fap to furry porn?

There's worse things to fap to, and it's harmless. Insulting them isn't going to be looked upon kindly by a lot of people, mainly because they can be just as nice as anybody else. They're fapping habits are nobody else's problem or business, and shouldn't cause any anger to sprout up. If you really have a problem with it, just ignore it and move on. The only thing that will happen otherwise is your mood souring.

I find it kinda funny actually, how some people work with rule 34 and reactions:

  • Example 1:
  • Example 2:
  • Example 3:

- Find explicit or questionable content of example 1 and you'll get negative comments. But it's the internet, rule 34 and everything, not much to do about it right? That's how most of the comments work. Some might even like the content and are possibly guilty of clopping.
- Find explicit or questionable content of example 3 and you get less negative comments, although still some. It's related to the character, but it's human. Why bother right? It's no longer something perverted that implies bronies fap to horses. Now getting excited about it makes you possibly guilty of fapping (notice how it's no longer called clopping). If she didn't have the horn and ears, negative comments would be even less.
- BUT DON'T YOU DARE MAKE QUESTIONABLE OR EXPLICIT CONTENT OF EXAMPLE 2!

That's simply how most comments work for some reason. For some weird reason, the middle way is a lot less accepted than the full-on pony or human images. Even when it's not questionable or explicit content. I just used that as an example.

A possible reason for this is most likely that it has close connections to the furry fandom. Even though bronies don't always have a problem with furries, they often tend to dislike being called on or being associated with them.

So what is the cause? A grudge towards furries in general? Annoyance of being associated with them? Fear of getting the same stamp as furries? Just not liking the artstyle? Something else?

Can't tell, it's just a matter of personal opinion in those cases. We're all human, who am I to blame you for having an opinion?
