Are we talking about Luna or nightmare moon? Moon has no redeeming qualities really. I guess she is determined, but so was Stalin and hitler. Luna on the other hand I guess is ok even though she has insecurities and anger issues. Anyways, I have to be perfectly honest and say that none of the characters in the show seem attractive to me in personality nor in looks. I wouldn't want to have her. Also, I would rephrase " how humans aren't very appealing" to " How I don't find humans appealing" because humans are attractive. Anyways, thanks for the answer, it's really interesting to see how different people in the fandom are.

Morgan freeman did a fantastic job as applejack before, not sure if he fits the role of Twilight.

Grammar Nazi mode activated:
Over the past few weeks, I've begun noticing the phrase 'try and X' being used all over the place.
It's 'try to' not 'try and'!
'And' implies two separate actions being performed.
eg: 'Try and understand' = You tried something and you understood something.
'Try to understand' says that you are making an attempt to perform a single action of understanding.
I don't know exactly why, but I've just been noticing this everywhere, even in more professional spheres (The submission guidelines for the Steam Workshop on TF2 is littered with them!) and I needed to get it off my chest.

As for why I like Chrysalis in general, there's something about her. She's quite…beautiful, to say the least. I guess it's my preference; she seems fine for me. I think she's gorgeous, but not everybody does.

I honestly don't think I have time to read everything you guys have already said about the Blueblood/Trixie/Chrysalis rant, but I think I got the general gist of it. I'm actually in the camp of people who doesn't really like Trixie, Blueblood, Gilda, or even Dash, all basically for the same reason. I'm just not a big fan of hubris.

As for Chrysalis, I like her as a villain, much the same as people who just "love to hate" Disney antagonists. Discord is just evil for the fun of it, whereas Chrysalis not only makes villainy look enjoyable, she actually has a reason for it, namely, the survival and propagation of her swarm. And Nightmare Moon may have been pretty "bad", but her motivation was actually a bit murky. It seemed as though she didn't want to destroy Equestria so much as remake it in her image; that's pretty tyrranical, but I'd venture to say it also makes her the least sane of the antagonist lot. If you think about it, she only became NMM because of emotional instability, and didn't seem to realize that her plan would essentially kill everything. Chrysalis is not insane, she's ambitious and cruel. When it comes to traits in enemies, I kind of like that. If the show's creators wanted to, they could even make her a recurring nuisance if they wanted. So in my reckoning, there are plenty of reasons the changeling Queen is popular, it's not all about gender and stuff.

Yeah, I know that our group here is usually more reasonable and reacts less violently. I do think most bronies would flip their shit if this was announced, and probably go with their convictions to the grave episode, no matter what you say. Some might still hold them after the episode airs, too, but that's less likely. Again, it comes down to how its shown.

Hmm, the best pony does seem to get struck by an inordinate number of lightening strikes. I wonder why this is. SCIENCE WOONA, EXPLAIN!

I dislike that pic for the same reason I don't find myself particularly anamored with real life ponies, because those ponies are just animals. As much as I am creeped out when ponies get physically anthropomorphized, you can't go far enough with that shit when it comes to their personalities. The fact that the ponies are so charmingly human is what makes them relatable, and seeing one eating a sugarcube out of the hand while getting her ear scratched comes across as reducing them to a creature that is merely appettitive.

Of course, there is an alternative way to interpret the picture. This is Lyra, the human fetishist, so it's not hard to imagine that this is a completely self-aware creature pretending to be a mere animal because she kind of gets off on humans treating her as such. Not sure how I feel about that interpretation.

That would be interesting, could actually be a way for the show to try to address the real issue of equality between the sexes. I don't even think it would mess with MLP's tone too much, I'm sure they could do it with the same light-hearted gentleness that they did with the Appleloosa settlers and buffalo. It would be interesting and a pretty ballsy move.

I like when the show puts in those little reminders that, yes, these are ponies (mostly the characters whinnying, neighing or grunting in a very 'horsey' manner).
It adds an extra layer to their characters that is kinda cute and funny.

That little orange vagabond is lucky enough to actually get to hang around Dash, so I guess some of her charge might momentarily rub off on her, momentarily. Lightening is a small price to pay for getting to hang out with Rainbow Dash.

Concerning the picture, normally I'm like to agree with you. I usually love the snorts and whinnies, but those are just little idiosyncrasies that add charm to the characters without really meaning anything.

To eat out of another's hand while they scratch your ears is a blatent act of submission by not just an animal, but a broken animal to its master.

I'm more upset by the fact that this doesn't phase me. At all. I feel that my time as a brony has made it so that there is literally nothing you can do with a pony that will disturb or even suprise me anymore.

MLP has left a good influence on the jaded inhabitants of the internet who got into it I think, but influence goes both ways. Poor Lauren Faust's pure little idea has been massively corrupted, and the corruption is glorious.
