Which remind me of a question I hvae, what does "Heart's Desire" do? The way Zacora explained it doesn't really fit with what Applebloom used it for, and the CMC didn't even use it to make the Love Poison in the "Hearts and Hooves" episode.
That mixed with a lot of fan comics using it as a plot-device (no pun intended) only adds to the confusion.
For example in the above pic, if Celestia ate that flower, what would happen? (I'm assuming she isn't immune to it's effects.)

My guess is that Heart's Desire is the opposite of Poison joke but has the same "Joke effect".

For example, Poison Joke takes away what you treasure most for the lulz. Heart's Desire gives you what you treasure most but subverts it….like those old tales of genies deliberately misunderstanding people's wishes.

As for colloquialisms, I really haven't learned formal Russian (the one used in Essays, books, etc) so Im just using everyday words. But I couldn't say from what area (moscow, Ekaterinburg [Sverdlovsk])

*The dub is horrible (only one voice actress is used to do all the voices, even the male roles) and the localization process butt fucks the entire reason the show was good

*Cue the show being cancelled and handed over to Funimation

*Cue Funimation at least attempting to make the show better but the original fans are still saddlesore from the montrosity they were initially given

This! That's one of the things I always thought to be the reason for the succes of MLP amongst men. The ponies in the show are drawn in a way too similar to anime and manga characters (just look at their eyes: I'm sure they were taken straight out of japanese cartoons).

Thus, the "moe-effect" that your text explains is one of the reasons that first made me (and other several bronies fore sure) to like it in a first glance.
