Yeah, don't give up on the Berry Punch persona. It was fun, although it did always seem a bit fishy (what's this a real pony? In our human world?). I say you keep that account alive, and not mention of this incident ever again, so we may all confound all the new bronies that start posting on here.

To change your username, go to your profile and click "Edit Account". You should see a section that asks for your first name. Just put in whatever you want your new username to be and click save.

twins, I think anyone who knew of the PM'ed SynchTube incident knows I didn't know Connor was Berry. Not many people knew about it until just now.

Also, Bob. Not everyone loved Berry, so don't BS him. I think everyone could agree that it was a grand roleplay though. I did like her and most other people did as well. Not all, by no means, but most.

Anyway, I've said that I think Hasbro has EqD by the horseapples, but I think it's more of an understanding. I just noticed that the links that Xyro uploads on Saturday morning posts on Equestria Daily are taken down by Hasbro after a certain period of time, because none of them currently are up. So there must be an understanding between EqD and Hasbro. EqD offers links to livestreams of varying sorts, those who can't catch it live can get to see the link for about a day or two (even in 1080p,) and then they take it down.

Which is a really cool move on Hasbro's part. They could easily just say to download it from iTunes (which I wouldn't do) or to order the Hub (which I also wouldn't do, because it doesn't make sense financially when I only watch a few channels with my current cable package.) I'm interested in seeing how they continue to go about it.

Speaking of the Hasbros, I wonder what their next move is (mostly in regards to the older demographic.) More restriction, surveys, stuff we don't know about or a level of transparency…I'm kinda waiting for that news that was so hard to come by during the summer when there weren't any new episode premiering. When seeing the sketches of filly…

To be fair, I was gone for maybe half that entire thread non-consecutively. However, with the way things are holding up, don't expect me to disappear any time soon.

I seriously have no idea how to not post duplicate images. I don't wanna comb through the last 5 pages of pics to see if I'm putting up a repost.

I didn't even start posting pics until a few days ago, and I've noticed how much karma you get. I mean, when I was writing, huge, 10 words away from the character limit posts, I got like +4, and if I post a somewhat relevant picture, and (magical trixie sound) presto, 5 karma here, 10 karma on the image pages a piece. I was always wondering how y'all did it.

So I can do 1/10th of the work for 3x the karma. I suppose the average KYM goer has an attention span too short to read over every single TL;DR, and I'll have to note that from now on.

I really need to learn how to be concise but clever. Like BSOD, who gets 20+ rep on posting a shortish, very sufficient, and insightful comment that diffuses a lot of the tension on the meme comment sections (see, I bet that last sentence could have been explained a lot better in a bunch less words, but you know me). Speaking of BSOD, where has he been anyway?

Hasbro is in a love/hate relationship with Equestria Daily, although strongly leaning on the love side. I'm surprised they're letting up with all the copyright infringement and full episodes left and right, like I would expect a massive, multi-national corporation to. The folks at Hasbro really learn fast, don't they? Treat your fanbase right, and they'll throw money at you. +1 for them in my books. Of course, when downloads come into play, their legal team starts to itch, and I can't blame them, it's almost like losing $2 a download (it's not at all, but still). Personally, I believe they were entirely justified in taking down Pony Archive.

But they have got to do a better job distributing the episodes. I know they probably aren't making as much money off of this as they want to, and the Hub itself is a massive money drain for them. I think they should start by incorporating even more elements of fanon into the show, and make a few episodes aimed directly at bronies, who are the main demographic nowadays by a very large margin. An episode where Pinkie realizes her sister is Octavia, whose real name is Inky but her stage name is Octavia? An episode where they finally incorporate my interpretation of how Baby Cakes worked? Hell yes!

Maybe they could start hiring actual bronies, or at least use them as consultants, to get a direct link to the fanbase. While they're at it, fire off whoever in the toy division made the G4 merchandise look like repackaged G3 molds, and oh god, PINK CELESTIA. Someone go tell Jayson Thiessen to go lurk /merch/ at ponychan.

You know, if these post breaker upper thingies counted as individual posts, I swear I'd be on the rank above commentator already.

Yeah, I was getting a bit crazy with the make fanon into canon part, but I think they can work in a few more references here and there. Maybe not entire episodes, but revealing Octavia as Pinkie Pie's sister could be written in a way that both appeals to bronies, and little girls. Maybe the moral of the episode could be "sibling love is eternal" or something like that. Inkie, Blinkie, and Pinkie would have their share of past grudges (you stole my muffin!) and that, but by the end they all reconcile in a tearful song as the family is wont to do. Maybe they could start some sort of band, Pinkie singing, Inkie AKA Octavia playing cello, and Blinkie something else.

What I meant, except went radical with, was to keep it a little girls' show, yet at the same time, reach out to that older audience more, much like how Pixar masterfully does.

I also agree. For those who aren't quite convinced, picture this:
Think of your favorite TV show / movie / book / comic book / video game / etc. (besides FiM). Now, go on to fanfiction.net, search the name of that favorite thing, and read all the fanfictions that come up in search results. Find the one fanfiction (or one plot element of a fanfiction) that you detest the most, that you consider the most insulting and embarrassing and out-of-place of the whole thing. Now, picture that that is actually canon. Alternatively, find a fanfiction author of whom you detest everything they write, and pretend they have complete control over canon.
Horrified yet? That's what the reason bronies shouldn't be writing the show.
Alternatively, picture one week there's suddenly an R34 episode. Even if you're into that, something would be seriously wrong with the show.


About the smosh thing: the first smosh video I saw was a Harry Potter parody. To this day, it is one of the worst videos I have ever seen on YouTube.


I'm not sure how many of you have seen the comment board on the FiM article page, but I'm very impressed with them. Every few days a new troll shows up, and a few days later that troll is defeated, whether by their lack of ability to say anything intelligent, by them getting banned, by them having a Heel Face Turn and getting converted, and/or by none of the bronies getting their jimmies rustled. Right now I'm putting together a compilation image of screenshots of the various trolls' defeats.
Keep it up, team; as we are united, no troll can stand against us.

I agree with Verbose. What they've been doing thus far is great. Quite frankly, I'm starting to worry that this fandom is being more trouble than it's worth to Hasbro. For starters, we're pretty hard to capitalize on, and I'm worried that the development team have to consistently worry about breaking some sort of fannon whenever they make a new episode. I remember there was some sort of "firestorm" about the Baby Cakes episode.

A while back, for example, one of the animators posted on Youtube that he was getting pretty pissed off at us. Ultimately, he took it back and said he was sorry after many people sympathized with him, but I doubt he's the only one getting annoyed with all this.

I would hate it if bronies started writing the show, but some Fanfics have interesting concepts that would be pretty interesting if they could fit it in the show and still keep the feel of the show. Like teleporting to another dimension and meeting their alternate selves or whatever. It wouldn't be to far fetched considering the upcoming time travel episode. That having been said, I wouldn't like it if they started catering to us. They caught our attention without trying to, so why should they start, Am I right?
