@disturbedbrony
I'll go ahead and bump the question up to the new page: Any Synchtube happening tonight?
I think I saw Verbose say that he couldn't make it, but does anyone else have a channel that we could all hop into?

@Zero
I agree with Fifths there.
Very nice improvement!
Also: "There can be only one!"

And because you seem to really like those fruit bats:
<div class=spoiler title="Mild NSFW">

No, I have no idea why this exists but it does.

@Feedback
Aww… Thanks guys!

Anyways, more pressing topic.

Probably not today, as said, going to be spending the rest of the day traveling through the countryside by train (was just about to leave actually). And I think that would kinda make my internet die of suffocation.

Still, it gives me a chance to catch up on drawing…with pencil and paper… Urgh!

I’ll leave it to you, those that post in this thread, to decide how advantageous a notification like this is to a sub-community of this size, but I felt compelled to inform you that I’ve been (rather overzealously) lurking this thread for about a week. I figure that it couldn’t hurt to take part in some discussion; I have nothing to fear or lose from this thread.

This post is obviously laying waste to a formerly fine conversation/image spam, and I’ll likely be a bit admonished by the posters in this thread for it, but I’m here!

Heaven help me…

Just jump into the discussion. No need for over formal introduction here (because class and dignity is wasted on this lot.)

Speaking of class and diginity (or the lack of it).

For those that don't know, the WiiU has something called "The Miiverse" which is basically kinda like twitter/facebook/steam community for WiiU. Every game gets its own "Wiiverse" which is like a thread where everyone posts pics and asks questions about the game.

The good folks at Destructoid.com have decided to take over the Rayman Raving Rabbids Miiverse and turned it into the "Willem Dafoeverse" (perpetuating a joke from their podcast) and basically…if you log into the Rabbidsverse in the WiiU….Willem Dafoe posts outnumber Rabbids posts by a LOT.

So Destructoid took a little video tour of this strange new land and they paused at many strange pictures….but for me this was the strangest:

Hi. And how are things going with you this fine day (or night, as it happens to be in my case)?

I'm back home for good. (I was at grad school for a couple of years and the entire time I've been active on KYM.) It's going to be interesting to see how that affects my activity on KYM, since I wasn't active online before then due to running around with friends and doing stuff. So you might expect my activity to be like Muumi's: I only post when summoned, and only sometimes then. The activity may not change at all, but I haven't gone away or anything.

You might have noticed in the past three hours that the thread no longer moves quickly enough to make casual conversation make sense (and previously, we avoided entirely non-pony related posts to prevent unnecessary, off-topic posts.)

For everyone, in the last episode of Kevin, Kevin comes over from the image gallery to say "Hello." He states that he frequents another forum for pony discussion, so he wasn't as likely to post here very often (although he said that he'd try.)

And yes, I was on the road yesterday. Someone missed that post, but others saw it. I thought everyone knew how to make a room on Synchtube, so I thought someone else might start it up:

  1. Go to http://www.synchtube.com/
  2. Click the yellow button, "Create a Room."

So…yeah. Merry Christmas to ZeroBlue and others in the future. Happy Christmas Eve for most others. Happy holidays to all.

Hello to Evan and Kevin!

I think it's time for some ridiculously cute Christmas pictures!

"CUTIE MARK CRUSADER DELIVERERerer…er…ers… Uh… YAY!"

"Your princess demands that you release her from your tangled grip, vile electric serpent!"

"Should we… help her?"
"Oh, I'm sure Luna can manage! giggle"

I'll probably still be around here over the holidays, but Merry Christmas and all that to everyone!

Merry Christmas Day Everyone!

…Oh wait, most of you guys are like 16 hours behind me aren't you? Eh, oh well.

Posting on my mother's computer in what feels like the middle of nowhere, cause if you recall "Home for christmas", but I probably forgot to mention that this "home", is seated in prime farmland country.

…And my grandmother who lives next door owns one of these farms… And being a family farm, this begins to give some perspective on why I kinda have an ability to completely ignore Applejack… And also forces me to realize the fortunate cooincidence that right after the Apple Family Reuinion episode, I'm having my own version of much the same thing.

And… I feel like I'm the obligitory Rarity invited at the family gathering to complain… So bear with me…

1- Right now, I feel pretty isolated from my favored environment: the city. What's worse is that there's a small chance all plant and animal life out here is going to play havok with my health.

2- It's early morning, and being as nocturnal as a bat, the natural rising sun is beginning to give me a headache. There's a reason I sleep through that thing.

3- Even after being forced to stay awake all yesterday while traveling, which forced me to sleep at night, I've still woken up at a time everyone else here is asleep!

And that's my little christmas "Rarity Rant".

So, it looks like I have a big day ahead. Good luck on your own christmas!

Got to go, people waking up!

Well, Merry Christmas everypony.
It's finally here, the day where we get to hang out with our families, eating turkey, and posting relevant Christmas pictures of ponies.

I think I'll just take a HNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNG and leave it there.

Oh god that is cute.

Merry Christmas everypony.

Oh. I guess I have to welcome two new assholes to the thread. great

Anyway, pony talk. I bought my nieces some MLP FiM coloring books for Christmas. I got them at the dollar store and it was the first time I ever bought any MLP merchandise. I would've bought them toys, but they already have too many toys. So I gave them the coloring books at the Christmas party tonight and they seem to like what I got them. Other things happened, but that was the only pony related thing.

Okay, seems I'm stuck here till tomorrow, no matter what I do, and since I don't think ranting more about this is appropriate for this thread, I'll just say I feel like Rainbow Dash in the hospital during read it and weep, except I'm not injured, and it happens I'm more or less forced to deal with all this tacky Christmas stuff everywhere.

I really… Really wish I had wings IRLThen, I may actually expect to get out of this place.

I sound so much like RD's nerdy counterpart right now.

It's strange, this need to go wherever I please has always been a part of me, but I was forced to contain it until I finished high school a year ago. And now that I'm stuck again… In the same place I was stuck growing up… After spending so much time going wherever I please… I feel crushed!

…oh great, now I'm gushing! Just…Merry Christmas! Hope you guys are having a better time than I am.

P.S. I'm considering sneaking out in the morning to catch a train before they drag me off to look at some dumb boat they made for themselves, and I end up forced to spend another day out here.

Oh, right. This is a pony thread. I guess I should post some ponies or something.

Going back a bit:

@episode
I would say that it was an okay episode that felt very season 1-ish, but it just wasn't something extra ordinary. This won't be one of those memorable episodes in the end. Even the song was not very remarkable 1,2,3,4.

I have hoped that they would take a different route for an AJ episode this time, but it was the same stuff we have seen before: AJ tries to be perfect, is very self demanding, sets the bar too high and fails. I am sure that you could write an AJ episode that explores a different character trait or flaw and go for a different story.
But the time of the airing right before Christmas really fits perfectly!

@Evan
Welcome to the pone general! Why are all the people so coutious before they post here and lurk for weeks. Is this thread so intimidating? Here are walls of text next to image spams, isn't it inviting? ;)

And look at this magnificent equestrian coin:

Last edited Dec 25, 2012 at 04:27AM EST

I was gonna post something about Christmas, the new guys on the forum, those awesome yet impractical coins, a reply to Whitishcollar about how this is a different flaw from AJ but that's all trivial now.

EqD have released the episode Synopsis for "Keep Calm and Flutter On" episode. I read it and my face was literally:

DO NOT READ THE SYNOPSIS! DO NOT DO IT! YOU WILL ONLY HYPE YOURSELF TOO MUCH

There is no way the episode can live up to the premise. It could be a good episode, it can be great, it can be awesome……but it will never be as awesome as you imagine it.

Motherfucker, now I'm curious as hell.

Thanks a lot, pancakes. T_T

Anyways, how did your guys' Christmases go? Were they fun? Did you get a lot of gifts?

I really need wings, I just want to go explore the world and see everything before I die.

@The new episode:

I enjoyed it a lot. All I'm saying.

@Christmas:

I hate all of you.

Go fuck yourselves.

@Keep Calm And Flutter On:

That's actually an idea I remember having a loooooong time ago, and seeing several times. I can imagine the writers could pull it off, and might even make it a great episode.

Of course, it's possible they don't succeed, in the end…

I still haven’t spoiled the episode synopsis for myself yet, because unlike for the previous two seasons, I’m making an effort not to do that. I find that I enjoy the show more when I don’t already have an idea of what is to come.

To be honest, there hasn’t really been an episode this season with the exception of “Too Many Pinkie Pies” that I enthusiastically watched and enjoyed. Maybe I’ve spent too much time on this series, but it’s all just worn on me. Nowadays, I’ll still enjoy the episodes. They just seem to have lost their liveliness, or something of the sort.

I don’t know what the upcoming episode will be about, but if it’s getting enthusiastic reactions from fans in this thread that are even more potent viewers than I am (or so I presume), then I figure that the production crew must have something good in the works.

@New episode Synopsis

I'm not sure what all the hype is about…

Hang on just a sec… before i get onto that…. I need to get something out of my system!

FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFREEEEEEEEEEEDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMM!!!!!!

Sorry, just got back from the Christmas Gathering. My parent's house is like a freaking prison you can not believe, and I'm just glad to be back in the city again.

Now where was I?

Oh yes, Episode…

@Episode Synopsis

It's nothing I didn't already expect, and strangely, my own expectations are more muted than some of what it sounds like for you. In fact, this sounds like a wild card episode, so I have a blank slate in my mind of what it will entail.

While a Wild card episode is something to be hyped about for the fact it's a wild card, the premise doesn't seem to be all that much to write home about. Nothing amazing, nothing extreme.

There is one thing to take from this is something I'm sure you'll all figure out on your own.

In any case, I need to sleep now… It's daylight, and you guys know how much I hate that stuff.

But before I do…

Earlier this morning, I had an odd moment. My dad walked into my old room, which I was sleeping in, and I bolted awake, and shouted "Pretty much!" And then, my dad Asked "Are you Awake?"

…

Answer preceded question? I must be really out of synch with reality for that to happen!

Not pony related Just a funny story…

I didn't read the new ep synopsis due to the fact I hate spoilers. Tell me and, and I'll murder you in your sleep smack you down.

Now, I shall enjoy the rest of my Christmas

I see we have some newfags newcomers into the forum…at Christmastime no less

IT'S A CHRISTMAS MIRACLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(ahem)

anyway

I'll welcome too

Welcome to Hell KYM Pony General. Be nice and we won't have to remove your brain and place it in one of our experimental robots kick you around like a football.

Let's get some basic rules down, and following them will help you enjoy your stay!

>Follow the rules. They're clearly posted.

>Know your mods, and be nice to them. They're all pretty cool guys, so don't worry.

>Speak your mind, but realize you aren't void of criticism should anyone want to provide some.

That's about it, so enjoy!

Now, for the not so serious portion (so don't take everything seriously), user introductions!

First off, you are now in RandomMan's army of bitches. He is ultimate and supreme to you lowly maggots lesser beings.

What Verbose is law. He sets rules around these parts. He is also a mind freak a psychological guy. Be nice to him

Connor the Brony, to our disappointment, is not a half-Mowhak half-British Tomahawk-wielding Assassin who watches miniature equines. Instead, he just watches miniature equines and has a debatable sexual orientation (In all seriousness, he's a pretty cool guy)

Explosive Lasers is an asshole; don't talk to him (just kidding; he means well and is also pretty neat)

Derpy Vazquez is an awesome swagbot who posts here quite often recently and leaves nice gifts

Fifths is a casual poster who has some serious swag (but has to compete bow down to RandomMan). He's nice.

Twins is our resident female. I think that's 'nuff said, other than her neatness as a person.

Tim the Enchanter likes loves Monty Python. He can also summon fire at will, but is afraid of white rabbits.

Bruno, Advance, and Joe Amethyst (some of whom have changed their names for now) are all jimmy rustlers. They ran a reign of terror of R34 until RandomMan became like Thor and put the hammer down on them laid down the law. In any case, they're pretty strange, so view and contact at your own discretion (warning : user pages are not safe for work/children)

Pinkamena Diane Pie is mad, murderous, and needs to be arrested self-explanatory.

Zero is a relatively new chap who is a very neat character. He says a lot of good things

Coily is a snake, so Indiana Jones hates him

Gigatoast is an artist who draws a lot of neat stuff.

We have a resident Pyro, who loves Luna/NmM. He is another awesome fellow.

And as for me, I'm your resident Star Wars and CoD enthusiast. Queen Chrysalis is my waifu.

Ship Chrysalis, and I will kill you

Ship Luna, and Pyro will kill you except princest (only joking, Pyro)

Ship both of them together, and both me and Pyro will kill you.

Anyway, that pretty much gets things all the way. Connor will probably have to post his KYM brony guide soon.

In any case, enjoy your stay!

…Wow… That is the briefest explanation of my existence ever. I must be some kind of Enigma…

Perhaps I should give my own introduction a go some time…

I am Australian, born and bred… mostly… but the problem that confuses most is I talk like some kind of foreigner. Most place my accent as either Canadian, or American. Whenever my accent is brought up, I can only ever explain that I stole my accent from TV due to an isolated childhood.

I'm a self professed "Collector of Fandoms", and seem to be willing to watch just about anything. As such a list of my interests would be… long… But the vast majority of them have fantastical creatures. I also have leanings towards "Future Fantasy", and other combinations of Sci-Fi and Fantasy.

I'm Nocturnal to a fault. And Have a religious devotion to Darkness, the Night, The Moon, the Stars, and Dreams!

I'm an Atheist. And if I were to list the number of reasons I found myself with that view, it would take till the end of time itself and back for me to be done. Just… Don't ask… Okay?

Oh yeah, and my mind seems to work on principles that seem to remix every idea into new ones at unprecedented speed. To the point that I find it hard to keep things simple.

…For example… Some plans for a MLP Fan comic I started work on have already gone up to about 12 Timelines, 6 franchises or more, and hundreds of Background Characters from the show, plus their eventual Children, and all their alternate timeline incarnations. Oh Yeah! And The Main Villain is a Devil made entirely out of The Souls of countless Versions of Rainbow Dash that died in previous incarnations of each Timeline… and 12 of these guys make up the Biggest Big Bad ever!… And I think none of this makes any sense!

Also! I hate being stuck in one place for too long. I have to travel to stay sane…Ish…

One True Pairing? Literally EverythingXEverything! If you Ship Rainbow Dash with Cloud Strife, I'm in. Discord with Asbel Lahnt? I'm pretty confused on how you know of the latter, but okay! Fluttershy with Mewtwo? Rarity with Renamon? Applejack with Luke Skywalker? Pinkie Pie with Dave Strider? I'll be in on all of those!

I have some aptitude with both rule based and free-form thinking. And whenever I use one, It usually forces me to use the other the next minute.

Born in the City, Raised in the Country Side, Hated the country Side so moved back to City last year.

My dreams are either Remixes of stuff I've watched… or Nightmare Fuel with which to burn the Devil himself with… So to speak. And sometimes… Those two over lap and I wind up in something that sounds like the plot to a parody of a horror movie.

I have an idealistic and optimistic outlook on life, yet somehow manage to suffer from Anxiety.

I'm also bluntly honest. to the point that my entire psychology treats any attempt at a lie as if I was telling a joke… or some kind of sarcasm. And most of the times I try to lie, I cripple myself with laughter. Although sometimes I get crippled with laughter anyways for no discernible reason.

I either say very little… or "a lot". And by "A Lot", I mean you will have a hard time looking at the wall of text I just built cause it reaches all the way to the Moon!

And congratulations, I have now said way more than I needed to… Looks like…

…My food's getting cold anyways…

From what I can tell, "Too Many Pinkies" is one of the lesser liked episodes this season. I don't know why, since I really enjoyed it.

"Magic Duel" is probably the most liked outside the PANDA RINGS idiots.

@Too Many Pinkie Pies being a lesser liked episode

Reasoning? It's always as it is

And I can't believe I forgot burning_phoenix in my user introductions. Here's a belated one:

Episode 11:
Oh boy, they could really be loading the fanon cannon for this one. Fortunately, my tumbr's fanon foundation is virtually bulletproof. That's all imma say until we decide if we're doing spoiler talk.

I guess I don't post enough around here or done anything spectacular to get noticed…
Never really contributed a lot to discussions but I'm always lurking here.
I even promised at the beginning of this thread to post more.

But eh you know..I've just been around…

Last edited Dec 25, 2012 at 10:54PM EST

@Popper

and Twilitlord just exists, you know. He usually lurks but will come in to critique new episodes, participate in philosophical discussions and complain about spoilers.

Occasionally, he speaks in third person, especially when he's left off of a list of recurring users.

@Popper

I think you got yourself into a bind here. Now you also need to mention all the occasional lurkers such as myself, and this thread has 10 times as many lurkers as it has casual posters.

[edit]

Yea, it's an effort in futility, sorry about that. Haha.

Oh well, you got mostly everyone.

@New Synopsis

That is all.

@Popper
I don't think I've ever made one of you little introductory lists despite hanging out here regularly for quite some time now…

Maybe I just need to make a better impression on you!
Here, have a combination of our two obsessions: Scootaloo and Boba Fett.

AM I MEMORABLE NOW?!

Aye, let's not forget little old me, neither. Clearly, I've been playing far too much Thief if I'm that artistic a sneak.

To all ye newcomers, welcome. As you've no doubt noticed, we're all bonnie mad boys of Bedlam in these parts.

Myself, I have an unhealthy obsession with all things medieval, write long-winded spiels and believe nothing is true. I'm also one of the most lecherous folks you'll ever have the misfortune of meeting, haha.

You've memorized that many names, or at least gotten the more important ones to say the least.
You shouldn't feel bad that your brain can memorize the more important things.

So I realized I haven't given my take on this week's episode yet. I was really tired for some reason on Saturday, but I'm feeling better now so here we go.

The first thing I want to get to is predictability. You may have noticed it's a recurring theme for me, and it factors heavily into my rating of an episode. I enjoy not knowing what to expect, and My Little Pony is, surprisingly, one of the shows that follows through on that (it's one of the reasons I enjoy the show so much). Lack of predictability was the main reason I wasn't a big fan of Wonderbolt Academy overall, even though I'm a Rainbow Dash fan. This one was a lot less predictable than the one before it. I did expect a few things, like Applejack taking it all too seriously, but I sure didn't expect the barn to fall over.

Again.

Seriously, that's like the fourth time, I didn't see that coming.

Along with that, the writing was the great slice-of-life-type story that we haven't had very often since the end of season 1. It was nice to see the show be more down-to-earth after the huge setpieces and high-stakes stories of the other eight episodes of Season 3; heck, we haven't really seen any like this since awhile back in Season 2. It's not epic, like the first part of the season, but it felt more realistic – something I've missed from the show for awhile.

Plus APPLEJACK SONG!
But honestly, I wasn't terribly impressed by the song, even though she did get one. Winter Wrap-Up and At The Gala still exist, after all, and then there's Babs Seed, possibly – no, probably – the best song in the series so far. Meanwhile, Raise This Barn:

I can say a lot on this point… But it really comes down to this…

"How I envy you!"

I can't get truly surprised anymore. There's like… 3 things in this world that can surprise me, and all of them I know by their First Names… And Last… And in some cases Middle…

All of them are from my immediate family…

I shall now curl up in a corner, and morn for the fact that deep down, some part of me knows how the entirety of Season 4 could go down, but I have yet to realize I know.
