I love all of them and any favoritism by me is measured in very slight degrees.
The fact that we can even have a discussion like this is testament to how well the characters were designed.
They all have positive and negative traits that different people will put different emphasis on based on their own likes and experiences.
I could never say that I 'hate' any of the characters in the show as their flaws only serve to make them more 'real' and relatable.
They are all awesome!

Anyways, I think the whole deal with RD vs. Flutters isn't gaining any progress. It's obvious some people like one better than the other, and everybody else is indifferent. Yeah, I know that feeling. It's part of why I like Pokemon Showdown and TF2. The competitiveness is toned down less, and the latter is immensely team-focused. So, in TF2, what competitive nature you get is for the team, usually, and it makes for some tough matches when both teams are aggressive and smashing against each other constantly.

I can understand not liking Dash for that, because it's part of the reason I kind of dislike her. Not the competitiveness so much as the arrogant, cocky attitude. I'm guilty of doing it as a joke, and I'm sure Dash's use of it is usually light-hearted to some extent, so I can't really hate her for it.

True, Trixie was already popular before the whole Seth thing. But I still blame him for constantly fuelling it. Her original popularity was ok, just around the same levels as other one-episode characters, maybe a bit more, but people just liked the character, no worries. But after Seth started his forcing, it really took off to unfair proportions.

Which is more of a personal thing actually. When something gets recognised as popular or quality, I want it to be fair and see legit reasons for it, regardless if those reasons match with my own opinion. Trixie's explosion in popularity is far from fair. Which results in me getting a grudge towards her. I don't know how close you've been following the rest of the forum lately, but if so you should know how much I hate self-acclaimed "oldfags".

Trixie has personality, of course she does. But her personality is simply the bitching bragging type. I don't like Gilda and Blueblood either, as they have the same issues. So it doesn't matter here if she has personality or not, I just don't like her personality.

As for Fluttershy, it's her general personality that's boring. The changes in personality (Flutterrage, Flutterbitch) always last for only one episode. So yeah, besides that, she's boring.

But going back to the shyness. As I said before, it matches to the whole "moe" personality found in anime. Moe characters have always been very popular. If you've been following Katawa Shoujo a bit when it was popular, the character Hanako was without doubt the most popular of them all. Hanako is a perfect example of "moe". But I never liked the character, way too plain and boring. But their shyness and other stuff, people feel attracted towards it. It's common. So honestly, I'm not suprised Fluttershy is popular. But it's simply not the type of personality I'd like.

I posted it on GameFAQs in desperation, after getting a response from Equestria Daily saying it wouldn't make it on because it was "more just a song about TF2", even after seeing the "Fire! Fire! Fire!" Pyro-based Smile parody make it on. D: I was hoping for a similar reaction to SPUF, but sheesh. GameFAQs is kinda filled with children, isn't it?

Are we discussing best pony? Shit guys, as I've already establised multiple times, it's Rainbow Dash. No, that's not an opinion. There is some fairly complex math involved, but there's actually a proof that shows Rainbow Dash is objectively the best pony.

Rainbow Dash on the other hand, is the best possible pony, that is she is the best pony in all possible universes. The closer you get to Rainbow Dash in awesome, the amount of radicalness needed to approach her increases infinitely.
