I got here late what was that Adolf guy saying because he banned.

Something about TF2… He wasn't exactly explaining what his grievance was though. It was mostly just swearing and insults.

Without a clear idea of the hows and what's of why he was upset with us, I can only assume he was trolling.

What I do know is that the Judge's Verdict against him was swift.

…And so we may never know what his problem was.

I'll give you a hint: We ban the dude for posting an antisemitic post elsewhere on the site.

You'll see that he was banned for hate speech. Given that bronies and Jewish people/Israel are two separate matters, it can be assumed that he was here only to troll. And thus, I banned him. If he was just messing with bronies, then I would have just banned him for a week and asked him to layout. With the hate speech and images (including a burning Israeli flag,) I felt that the best course of action was to permanently ban him based on the actions administration took in a previous situation.
 
Now in the future, just shoot me or RM a PM if you see him on here. Both of us can warn, ban, permanently ban a user. If you're very curious as to whether a user is legitimately upset or is just bored, then go to their profile and check their recent activity.

Responding to trolls and having a discussion about it just makes bronies a prime target for other potential trolls lurking. Should someone get bored, they know they can post one angry post on KYM Pony General and get several posts off of the original topic.

I do applaud ZeroBlue since he was trying to figure out what this guy's deal was, but upon looking at what he was doing on other parts of the site, it becomes apparent that he was simply a troll.
 
He probably had no real problem with MLP being in TF2.

A part of me feels a little insulted when someone says something like this about "wasted potential". My sister a couple of years ago said something similar about my art when I was drawing everything in the anime/manga style "You have so much talent in art, why do you waste it on drawing anime?". I don't see the way HDD animates the .mov series as wasted potential, because while the animations look grotesque (and I'll admit a little sloppy at times), it's what he does well and it's the type of animation that makes him happy. Acting like animation (or any type of art) has to have a "pleasing" look to it to be worth anything is a pretty big pet peeve of mine.

Don't take this as me raging at you, DP, I just felt the need to speak my mind on this matter.

I'm pretty sure you are allowed to have a disagreement on political policies, but Nazi imagery and threats are genocidal in nature, not political.
I didn't see what the guy in question posted before his ban, but I would hope it was more along the lines of the latter (which would make him deserve the ban) rather than the former.
The two approaches are too often conflated in common usage ('Anyone who dislikes Israel is a Nazi'), but I'm not going to assume that this was the case without knowing the specifics.

Yeah, I guess 'wasted talent' was a bit harsh and not entirely clear.
I guess what I really mean is that it's annoying to see that he has the potential to create something that I would really enjoy, and he instead chooses to make something that I don't.
Obviously, it is entirely within his prerogative to make what he wants to make, I'm just not interested in his current direction.
(This actually applies to more than just the art as I really enjoyed the more serious tone and character development of the JackleApp tumblr, and the .MOV series has basically been the opposite.)

I'm afraid that I must be a dissenting motherfucker, and say that I actually enjoyed the .MOV series as a whole, even if said joy skirted the line of "guilty pleasure" in the cases of trite raunchiness. However, I understand and accept the viewpoints of those saying they were unsatisfied with SWAG and/or the .MOV series. Carry on with your discussions, my good lads!

I like the .Mov series, my sense of humor is very flexible. As long as it's not one of those fucking horrible parody movies (or most comedies released today) I can laugh at some of the worst stuff like a simple fart joke (as long as it's not TOO stupid like that horrible Nickelodeon commercial of the black kid farting in an elevator for like 30 seconds) or just about anything from the .Mov series or I'll be the one laughing my ass off at Blues Brothers while all my stupid friends sitting there watching the movie with a permanent pokerface. So yeah the .Mov series has been something I have really needed after a stressful day (a day so stressful not even normal MLP can fix OMG!) and Swag.Mov is no exception even though it leaned more towards the 'epic' and not OMG GROSSOUT HUMOR.

I give the lackluster animation of Swag a break considering Max announced that his harddrive got wiped out and had to reanimate the whole video from scratch and of course having to listen to all those complaining crybabies on his page asking for Swag.Mov or they'd unsubscribe (some guy even said "If you're not going to release Swag.Mov I will get someone to hack your computer and release it myself!") he probably rushed it quite a bit (which definitely shows during the battle.) All in all I think it was a nice way to end the series, although I think it was a bit of a cocktease when Max said on Twitter that you need to read AskJappleack to understand what's going on in Swag but…yeah we know that really didn't come through until the very end (which at least made a nice funny joke at the end). I don't know where I'd rank Swag.Mov, probably just a bit higher than Dress.Mov at least as I never cared for Dress.Mov.

I don't know about you guys, but I love watching stupid videos on youtube all the time. I find the PONY.MOV series hilarious.

Why am I not surprised to see Rarity episodes at the top? Lol Jk but no seriously that was one of the hardest MLP quizzes I took, it got really intense near the end and I'm actually quite surprised by my list and it really makes you realize your favorite episodes when you're taking that test.

Apparently I think Magical Mystery Cure is better than 43 other episodes. Time to post these results on other MLP boards (except /mlp/ I think I'd get hacked or something if they saw my list) and watch people rage over my opinion of episodes.

Sometimes, I don't even know what I draw…

Seems about right, not too surprised a Fluttershy episode is at the top and Spike at Your Service is at the bottom.

Also, I noticed "Look Before You Sleep" is spelled wrong on the survey.

Not surprised that the Spike episodes are at the bottom with some others. It's not that I don't like the little dragon, it's just that I really don't like the episodes he's written as a major part of. They've never felt right to me.

Bringing conversation back to this little figure real quick:

I noticed that the shine in her eye is the shape of a gem, and so she might not be a unicorn at all. She's probably a crystal pony.

Just a thought I felt like sharing.

I'm thinking… Someone should draw up a frame just after what would have been the end of the last episode…

Struck out episodes are ones I haven't seen because I don't even pony, so I answered arbitrarily when they came up. Disregard them.

Mostly unsurprising. I'd say anything from "Over a Barrel" down could be rearranged in any way and my feelings towards those episodes wouldn't change. I don't hate any of them, but they're just mediocre fare in my mind. Season 3 had a strong showing in the top twenty, considering how many fewer episodes there were, and I'm really surprised "Wonderbolt Academy" didn't end up higher; I'd definitely place it above "Sweet and Elite." Apart from that, the time has come for the infidels to accept the triumvirate of "Read it and Weep," "It's About Time" and "The Cutie Mark Chronicles" as best episodes.

I did the Character Sorter version instead.

I really don't know how One Bad Apple got last. I think I clicked the wrong button. Because I definitely dislike Gilda more than anyone. She made Fluttershy cry.

It's sucks I only found this song after SWAG.MOV.

I totally missed out. Oh well, here is it for the sake of remembering this song for some of you though I wish I knew it before so this would be nostalgic for me. Plus it's awesome!

My list of episodes? Oh gee that might take a while. Heck I might just have to rewatch a lot of them. Time for ponies again!

My brother has a Luna figurine that has the same crystal-shaped sparkle in her eyes, and she's obviously not a crystal pony. Likewise, my Rarity figure has the same crystal sparkle. Both came from the 'Crystal Empire' set, however, and I believe every toy in those sets do. So, she might not be a crystal unicorn, and just be part of a set that takes place in the Crystal Empire.

Has it been confirmed that this pony doll is a unicorn? I was told she was actually confirmed to be an earth pony.

Okay guys… Let's see that Pony again… So you know what it is I'm talking about when I ask my next question.

How can we not know whether there's a horn behind that mask?

I mean, somebody had to have taken the photo, and someone has to have the figurine, so all they'd have to do is take off the mask to see if there's a horn back there.

And even if the mask is glued to her face, we can just pull back her hair and look behind it.

Even if we can't tell if there's a horn behind there from this picture, there has to be someone who can verify it's existence or non existence.

…Unless of course the set isn't released yet. I don't know if it is or not, but I'm assuming it is released.

If it's not released, then all that I can really say is: "Hasbro is trying to mess with us by making us guess."

Anyways… Who wants to bet the Hypothetical 7th Element of Harmony is "Justice"?

Let me point out that we haven't seen a crystal pony unicorn (not counting the temporary transformations at the end of The Crystal Empire) so it's unlikely she's that.

As far as our current understanding goes, she could either be a unicorn, earth pony or crystal pony. Since we don't have a view of her forehead, and the hexagonal eyeshine is no sure bet, it's entirely up in the air.

Let's not forget that not all the toys end up in the show, either.

As for her possible element, seeing as her cutie mark is a bit like the ol' yin-yang, a good bet would be balance. Of course, this is assuming she gets an element, which I'd consider a bit unlikely.

It seems folks are dead set on assuming she's gonna join the rest of the ponies in Twi's absence. While this theory is by no means implausible, an equally plausible theory is that she'll join Twi as an advisor or student or something. Both of these theories assume that Twi leaves her friends, of course, and we don't know that for sure either.

But exactly who is our mystery mare, who we've named "Dawn" for the time being? The sun being a prominent feature of her cutie mark implies a connection to Celestia. What that connection is, though, who can say? If she is indeed a crystal pony, perhaps she was Celestia's student before she became stuck in limbo with the rest of her kind. Perhaps she's a part of Celestia's council of advisors. If you want to go for the really outlandish, perhaps she's Celestia's daughter.

On the more wild guessing side, what if she's an infiltrator? Perhaps she's a changeling, part of some revenge scheme of Chrysalis'. Perhaps she's part of some fanatical cult, hell-bent on undoing Twi's transformation. Perhaps she's a rogue agent, seeking to attain power.

Unfortunately, all we know for sure at this point is that she's quite cute.

Well, if we're going to assume she may be related to one of the princesses, I have to bring up one odd line of thought.

Twilight is the student of Celestia, Princess of the sun. Yet her Cutie mark and theme are more associated with a coming night. (Stars and stuff.)

If such crosses over to this pony, then it makes more sense in my head that she's be the pupil of Luna then Celestia.

Then again, I could just be looking for a reason to say a Prodigy of Luna could exist. So it's possible that I'm biased.

(One Tangent though… anyone think that with the two overlapping shapes and the partially hollow center, her cutie mark looks sort of like an Eclipse? Or am I imagining it?)

Anyways, the idea that another "Royal Pupil" who has not gone nearly as far in her studies as Twilight (as in, just adopted the moment Luna came back) being sent to learn from the student who's already finished her studies sounds… Kinda cool.

But I do have to say, if they try setting up for another Alicorn with this… I swear, They had better go through more seasons than three before they try pulling it over on us!

I'll admit though, if they DO end up having her as a Royal Pupil, it will be hard to deny that we'll know what she's getting herself into.

…What I'd really want before then of course, is Dash to actually have a shot at a genuine position in the wonder-bolts first. And some other major stuff. Seriously, the others were here first, they should have a shot at their dreams before "The New Girl" has her dreams fulfilled.

Isn't Justice and balance two rather similar concepts? I mean, both can within reason be personified by Scales. Heck, just look at Libra!

Twilight, the Sixth Element of harmony to live in Ponyville (Actually, Magic is specifically said to be the Sixth Element by Twilight as she reads the book on the elements) ends up being all stars associated, as if she should be closer to the Moon. Matching up with Virgo, the Sixth Zodiac.

While this new Pony… Ends up with a Sun, and if she joins up, she'll be the Seventh "Element", Matching up with Libra.

Well… regardless of if this comes to pass or not, looking this deep into this is fun. Albeit pointless now that I've gone so far off from Actual analysis and into Mythological Symbolism in a short time-frame… And this being a show for "Little Girls" supposedly.

What was her name again? Don? Yeah, I'll go with that. I don't know much about her, or if she's going to actually appear in the show. This could turn out to be another Princess Skyla thing.

However, if it does turn out she's going to be in the show, then I have no doubt that she is somehow going to be important. She could introduced as a new main character and some of you are even saying she could be the seventh element of harmony. But what is the seventh element? Only time will tell.

That Lyra there is the standard unicorn model and I may be wrong, but I think that if this new mare were a unicorn, the horn would not fit behind the mask.
I'm going to assume that she's an Earth pony, but that sort of throws out the idea of her being a magical student or anything like that.
The fact that she was displayed so prominently at a toy show and that she has such a distinctive cutie mark does imply that she is probably going to be important in some way, but I doubt she's going to be any kind of 'replacement' for Twilight.

Looking at those models, I'm actually seeing that it looks plausible for the mask to fit on and cover the horn.

And comparing the picture of the Mystery Pony to a Unicorn Model I have on Hand, a few of the angles that match up best ultimately leave a position that could hide the horn behind the mask without spilling outside.

However, there is room for doubt, a few of the other angles seem to result in the horn sticking out just a fraction. And it's remarkably hard to get a good angle to get conclusive proof.

So… Maybe I should approach this another way… I'm Going to cut out a little mask of approximately the same shape, and see if I can find an Angle on my physical model that may hide the horn.

Edit: Results of the "Duplicate Mask" test are in. It seems that with a small margin for error, it is at least possible for the mask to cover the horn from the viewer. And of course, it is possible to fit the mask on a unicorn to do so.

We're getting lazy. There was a whole staff interview and no one has posted the cap of it yet!?

Wait! Wait! What?!

3 The Season 3 finale was originally written in November 2011. Twilicorn was a while in coming, folks, and the writers knew they wanted to make it a musical fairly early on.

If we're going to take that line seriously, that means it was written from almost the moment the show had Started! In fact, it's almost impossible that Lauren Faust didn't have a hand in it!

…Or maybe I'm wrong and something in my brain just jumped to conclusions. Either way.

Edit: WHOOPS! My mistake! I thought the show's first episode was on 11/11/11, but I was wrong, it was 10/10/10! What really happened seems to be it was written in the middle of season 2 airing; about 5-8 episodes in.

Nope. Faust's last written episode was The Return of Harmony. This, however, still points to something else:

The writing quality isn't dropping. We have good episodes, bad episodes, and "meh" episodes. Season 3 was shorter, so it just looks like the percentage of bad and "meh" episodes was greater. There could have, in fact, been absolutely great episodes had the season been a little longer.

That's pretty close to what I thought. It still means that Faust had nothing to do with the way it was done, as she stated on her Twitter.

Sooo, Larson admits he has trouble writing scenes for Fluttershy, eh?

06 – Why didn’t we have a Rarity episode this season? She turned out being pretty mean to Spike in the initial treatment, so the episode went to Applejack instead. And so we got “Spike at Your Service."

So let me get this straight, they didn't give Rarity an episode because they didn't want her to be mean (even though they already made her mean to Sweetie Belle in Sleepless in Ponyville and to a lesser extent Spike in Just For Sidekicks), so instead of rewriting the episode (or scrapping the idea entirely and replacing it with an amazing Sparity episode) they give Rarity's role to Applejack, blessing both Orange Pone and Spike with 2 episodes and leaving Rarity with 0.
To sum it up- in place of receiving a decent Rarity episode that progresses her and Spike's relationship, we get the worst episode ever of the Season…

He was always meant to be more of an evil presence (think Sauron) who doesn’t share the same in-your-face persona as Discord and Chrysalis.

That's what I was saying about Sombra for months and others called me an idiot and a Hasbro Apologist! What they said to me really rustled my jimmies and I can't wait to see how they react to this!

Quite simply, I think they failed to properly convey such a villain. Even McCarthy herself admitted he wasn't as scary as she was hoping.

I was saying a similar thing about Sombra when the season premier rolled around. That was actually the one thing I really liked about him, his "scaryness" was not in his actions on screen, it was in his actions that he did off screen (making a "dark" crystal palace, setting up that door, etc.). Unfortunately, it seems the writing team is not all that great at subtle villains, but at least they tried with varying degrees of success.

Found a smaller little independent Brony documentary coming to us from the merry ol' land of England: British Brony Doc
It's free and less than 15 minutes so give it a watch if you'd like.
Since people will inevitably compare it to the big Brony Doc, I'll just mention a couple things.
This one is much smaller in scale, talking to just a few guys across two small meetups in England, but it touches on a lot of the same points that the big one did, minus the globetrotting and staff interviews.
It's nice, simple, down-home documentary-ing.
The big Brony doc covered people with more exceptional stories (because they had the money and exposure to do so), but this is a nice sample of people who are probably closer to the 'norm' for pony fans.
Overall, I like it.

Yeah, overall his list is relatively meaningless-ish.
I tried to avoid the 'I like both' option as much as possible so that there would be actual results.
I've said before that I at least 'like' all of them on some level, so the margins separating a lot of these are imperceptibly tiny.

I remember Meghan McCarthy mentioning the comparison to Sauron a while back (Was it at EQLA?) so that has already been confirmed, but it's nice to see it again.
I'm still going to say that I liked Sombra.
He didn't have any monologues or cocky speeches but he had much more raw menace than any other villain so far.
He just wanted to do his evil thing, no discussion, no relenting.
I liked that just as its own thing and as a stark change from the other villains of MLP up to that point.
