I'm obviously a little disappointed he looks like a crappy FC, the season 2 villains both had great, creative designs. But I can live with it, he looks better then Nightmare Moon anyway. #heresy

Just like with Cadence, it all comes down to how they pull it off in the show, and as far as that goes I trust them to make a fun and interesting villain.

Mfw people actually think that character is going to be a villain and doesn't realize it's just Hasbro trolling.

Am i the only one around here that would love to see a two parter opening without a villain?

Season 1 and 2 started with a villain and Season 2 finished with one as well. I do love Discord and Chrysalis wasn't bad as well, but the finale of those episodes always feel a bit rushed.

So a two parter without a villain could feature a better tension arc and more time for the characters and Dialogue.

As Tabitha stated in an interview recetly:
"St. Germain (In Rarity's voice): I have repeatedly asked for monologues."

Now i have a picture of Noir Ponies in my mind, of course this is asked far too much, but i just love the idea.

quite possible that Hasbro IS trolling. but we really won't know until we get more solid info. here's to hoping that they really are trolling us. because if you ask me, that "villain" looks like a really, really bad OC.

Shame IP addresses can't be dealt with, at least I don't think they can.

They can be dealt with, it's even the exact thing we deal with when banning. When a user gets banned, his IP gets banned and the profile we ban can't be used for a week (besides a small amount of functions). But if they use a proxy, they can work their way around the ban. However doing so is against the rules and will result in a longer ban or deactivation. But he's permabanned now, hopefully that will be the last time we hear of him.

isn't there a way to block proxy sites?

a lot of sites use it(some free MMO sites use at least)

But, really, what reason do we have to believe that Hasbro is trolling?
They've never done anything like this before, and they didn't exactly throw this guy out in front of us like they were trying to show him off.
He was found by someone digging through the Hub's as-of-yet unused site assets.
Just like the guy who deconstructed Vinyl on the site and found her eye color that was then in the real episode.
As far as I'm concerned, this is real, and just like with Cadance, I'm going to at least give him the benefit of the doubt before dubbing him as 'horrible.'
In fact, he's probably got a better chance of being interesting than Cadance did.
Another pink pony princess was obviously a toyline request that had to be turned into something interesting.
I highly doubt that a little girl toy company was chomping at the bit (giggle ) to release an evil male character like this.
This makes me think that he was not a required addition and is instead a fully studio-born creation.
That should be better, right?

Huh, this one could really go either way. I could see this easily being trolling or the legit villain.

And I don't know why you guys are getting down on the design. Reminds me a little of the visual design of "Him" from Powerpuff girls, and that was a great villain…How the hell did they manage to slip that thing into a kid's cartoon again?

They've shown themselves to be more than capable of creating really good villains like Discord, or at least passable ones like Gilda, so I don't have negative expectations for this guy in the event he turns out to be a baddie. It seems a little unfair to judge him based on his appearance; let's be honest, Discord would look ridiculous to anyone non-brony when taken out of context, and possibly Chrysalis to an extent, but they both served as legitimate and (at least in Discord's case) well developed lemons.

So I'm going to hold my judgement until we see what role he plays, or if he's just Hasbro trolling. From how much we've seen Hasbro respond to the Internet, I don't think them trolling us is completely out of the question, and it would be hilarious.

Doubt that's going to happen. Best thing to actually make this work is to let each image be checked by a mod/staff before being added to the image stream. But with the amount of images KYM receives daily, this would be WAY too much work. Not to forget people can also upload images on seperate sites before posting them here, so it still wouldn't stop anything.

Not that it matters actually, we delete their shit 10 times faster than they upload it.

Don't like the way he looks, but that's the same thing I said about Discord, and he turned out great, now didn't he?

We all know Twilight loves reading, but what kind of books does she read? Judging by how smart she is, I'd say she reads encyclopedias and text books rather than a novel or poems. She's clearly into reading scrolls, how else would she learn how to perform magic?

What kind of books do you guys think she reads?

Well, I still think they're trolling, but if not I'm willing to give the character a chance. Hell, everyone thought Cadence was just there to sell toys and she turned out to be a pretty decent character (bonus points for also more then likely being the reason we got a non-pink Celestia toy).

You are definitely right, it is a matter of perspective. Let me put it this way… different writers have different strengths. The humor of Amy Keating Rogers makes for a damn good Pinkie Pie. Watch The Last Roundup or A Friend In Deed and deny that! Though Fluttershy is a good character, I don't think she's had the best representation due to the fact that the writers' strengths don't compliment the character. Cindy Morrow expanded on Granny Smith in Family Appreciation Day, and elaborated on Rarity and Sweetie's relationship in Sisterhooves Social. THAT'S what I want to see. I think Fluttershy needs more stuff in Cindy Morrow's style, focusing less on humor and more on her personal interactions. A lot of bronies I've talked to say Hurricane Fluttershy was Fluttershy's best episode, and it just so happens to be a Cindy Morrow episode.

Shit… the more I think about it, the more this premise sounds like an M.A. Larson episode. Larson is funny as hell but, that's not really what I was hoping for.

It’s very interesting to note that although she was no doubt frightened of the hydra, she was nowhere near the level of crippling fear she was experiencing in Dragonshy and Dragon Quest. Why is that? Are full-grown dradons simply a random phobia of hers? Or did she experience some encounter with them in her past that caused this to be the case? Whatever the case, her character building would benefit greatly from a deeper look into this fascinating fear, and that seems to be the intention here. I’m really hoping it’s all true, because I think it would be a spectacular way to delve further into the mind of Best Pony.

I recall reading a similar comment on EQD stating she might have been traumatized by dragons earlier in life. Could be an interesting concept to play off of. However, I think it's only likely to be covered based on the writer. I can see Cindy Morrow going into Fluttershy's backstory, but if someone like Larson does it, I'll expect something more along the lines of a giant terrifying dragon attempting to take care of her frightened woodland critters while desperately waiting for Twilight to find a spell to change her back. Hmm… an M.A. Larson episode actually does sound pretty good… (still hoping for Cindy Morrow, though)

Okay, people have suggested this might be Hasbro trolling, but has anybody taken into account that EQD might be trolling? Or the brony that sent the info in might be trolling and the EQD staff fell for it? Also, even if this is legit, I'm not going to make any judgements until I see him in an episode. I agree, he does look like a bad OC, and doesn't really seem innovative in the way Chrysallis and Discord did, but if the writing's good, the character's good. Also, the purple, glowy eye junk is actually pretty cool imo.

Okay, joking aside, you put too much emphasis on gender. You always bring up the popularity of Chrysalis and Trixie, but conveniently overlook Discord. And you always, ALWAYS bring up Blublood. Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon are just as annoying, but you never bring up what a pain in the ass they are. Just sayin'.

So, tried to look through the top rated/commented/fav'd images on kym (72 hours). Most of them are ponies, and some of them are good, but jesus, the ones showing asses and sexual thingies. People are "fapping" to it. *sighs.

Slowly going through S2 right now, but might re-watch some S1's too to better get a ranking. After watching Luna Clipsed, RD dropped for being stupid. She got what she deserved in the end.
