Not bad, overall. The mouth is a bit odd, in my opinion, but it's probably just perspective or some shit I don't really know about because I can't animate worth a shit.
@Sad stuff:
Art is, by definition, something to evoke emotions and feeling in somebody. For as long as art has existed, sad stuff has stood strong in all cultures. Theater, television, movies, literature, paintings, etc. have had sad stuff, because people enjoy feeling emotions, feeling connected, and learning what it's like to feel depressed and all of that.
The ponies, as a whole, are easy to connect to because they're represented with fairly deep personalities and the show and are very 'human', in a sense. They're easy to relate to and feel for, especially when they go through tough times and everything. That's why a lot of people like Fluttershy and the episodes Hurricane Fluttershy. She can easily evoke sadness when she gets upset because she's represented as a delicate figure.
Fan-fic writers and artists recognize how easy it is to evoke emotion with ponies, especially with sad stuff, so they use that as a way to make art. Of course, taste comes into effect, so people might not like all sad things, or might not feel the sad of a certain piece of art. My Little Dashie is an example, as it seems most of the people here shed maybe one tear while reading it, while I cried so hard that my shirt became stained with tears, both from wiping them off with it and the tears dripping down. Lots of variables come into effect, but generally-speaking, it's easy to make art that evokes emotions with the ponies, especially sad ones, because they're so human, so familiar, and so easy to relate to. That was really kind of Hasbro's intent, seeing as the show is supposed to teach lessons and show girls how life works, in a sense. Characters that can be related to help that goal, and also help artists make the aforementioned sad artwork, as well as just artwork in general.
The reason I like it, personally, stems mostly from just enjoying a good story. A lot of the time sad-fics are fairly well-written, as opposed to Grimdarks and clop-fics. I also tend to enjoy sad stuff more than Grimdark stuff, too, but that's not saying much, really.
