Oh, good. You were able to get off the ride. I envy you. The Pokemon ride's 100x worse than anything pony will ever do. Just think of the plot of Ticket Master being done five times and you can begin to understand the true horrors Pokemon offers. When it isn't being repetitive, it's squandering oppurtunaties to kick ass (see: Team Plasma not attacking the Pokemon League competition like in the game) and still pissing my off with the dubswitch by rehiring Oak's original voice actor for a different role just to remind me what he's supposed to sound like.

The high point has to be the Mystery of Mew for the movies (dat Pikachu hat scene) and evil Goku Team Galactic's arc for the actual anime (first death in the anime). I would talk about this in the Pokemon thread, but they're presumably too busy talking about how horrible the Gen 6 designs are to care about the anime.

I like to think I've built up enough karma over the years (getting hit in the head with a metal baseball bat and suffering a concussion, eating rat poison [which thins the blood] and then chewing on a razer blade, plugging in a lamp cord with bare wires and getting electrocuted, flipping over my water dingy and nearly drowning in a pool [which I would have had my brother not saved me], getting mauled by my uncle's dogs, and getting run over by a bicycle) that I can indulge in cringe threads without having to worry.

Are you sure? I mean, you might say that MLP seems solid right now but Pokemon had some pretty long-lasting glory days itself. I hope it doesn't happen, but this show could seriously deteriorate too.

I gave up on the Pokemon anime years ago. It just boggles my mind how they can just churn out the same show every season. First three arcs were great but then it just becomes the same thing. Ash gets rid of all his Pokemon except for Pikachu (you'd think you'd try and train all your Pokemon over the years but he'll give them all to Professor Oak after a few months and train a bunch of N00bs along with Pikachu who is probably as strong as it'll ever be for a Pikachu.), gets a new outfit and new friends because the writers finally got tired of Brock, Ash beats all the Gym leaders but comes in anywhere from 10th-20th place in the Pokemon league. Next arc comes around rinse repeat. The Pokemon anime will always have its place in my heart until sometime in the Hoenn season where they change all the voice actors and it turns into the most repetitive show on TV.

Don't even get me started on Team Rocket……

In Poni news today though, due to me being bed ridden for a good………………6 weeks……………I decided to watch some Poni because I was complaining that I haven't been able to watch the show for a while. So I watched all of Season 1 in one sitting…..Man that was magical. All I can say is when it comes to '[insert name of mane pony here] is a background pony' thing all I can say is in Season 1 Applejack is DEFINITELY the background pony of season 1. If she's not the focus of the episode she just blends in so well it's not even funny. Whereas with Rarity in Season 3 all I can say is she is NOT the background pony of season 3, she's just the supporting character of season 3 as she doesn't have a lot of focus but she's not just a background decoration like Applejack was.

Man am I glad the writing team realized they needed to work on Applejack in season 2. Imagine if the writers didn't care and Applejack was still a background decoration until season 4 where they just drop her off the show and pretend she never existed like the 3rd child on Family Matters. /thread.

Man am I glad there's 26 episodes this season. No excuses to not have a Rarity episode or two in there. I also can't wait till I get to Read it and Weep so I can feel like complete shit while watching Rainbow Dash feel like complete shit.

If a thread goes off in a different direction that its topic/focus, then it defeats the purpose of a thread. If a thread has no purpose, then it gets locked. KYM Pony General is a place for people to post about anything related to the show and fandom. It's a designated place. People have already left the thread because it focuses more on the people in it than anything going on in the fandom, which already has me on edge, to be honest. You're a smart guy. I think you understand this.

I'm not trying to sap the fun out of the thread. And I recognize that new discussions and conversations are limited because all of the people here have gone over most of the points that could be brought up.

But keep this in mind: Most other threads just die off at that point. And if they don't, they get locked for being off-topic. This one is fortunate in that it's featured. It can be completely inactive for more than a month and still be open for posts. You don't have to post to keep the thread alive. Post when you have a picture/artist to share, an opinion or prediction, fan animation, plushie, news, spoilers, etc. But don't feel like you have to use this thread just to talk to people.

Go into other threads. Post on each others walls. Shoot PMs. It's okay. KYM Pony General is more likely to be here come November 23rd with no one posting at all than posting something not related to the topic.

I can't say I am too surprised. We saw from the Pyro update that Valve was already leaning in favor towards the Brony community. The baloonicorn and the pyrovision were simply natural precursors to this ultimate culmination. I think we all knew it back then, even the haters, but didn't want to admit it. Now it's right there, before us all, happening

Frankly this is a genius move on behalf of valve. Not just for the trolling sake but also for the amount of money this would potentially make as both Bronies and trolls alike will rush to get their hands on one. Valve knows their customer base very well. As for all the people threatening to uninstall the game over this update…they'll be back.

Not gonna lie. We joke about this thread being a massive circlejerk all the time. It's part of the reason this thread gets so much activity in the first place. But you what? A little bit of circlejerking is okay. Because it keeps things interesting and people pay attention to me helps everyone come together as friends and as a community

I could not have said it better myself. Compare my posts in previous PG to the more recent PGs, and you'll see a sharp decline. I don't meant to be harsh, lord knows I love you guys, but it's like Mark said, whether she's joking or not: this thread has become one giant circlejerk.

To be fair we've been through 6 1/2 threads over 2 1/2 year which totals to 30k+ post of pony. You can't expect that level of loyalty (* insert rainbow dash here*) without some level of circlejerking going on. I mean yeah we should do that stuff on specific individual's walls, but it kinda breaks thread consistency if we do that. I mean if we had all posted to @Kewlm00b on his wall after he announced he was in his accident, that would have made this thread look really shitty when some new member comes along and sees that he was hurt and no one commented on it even though we did.
 
Of course I haven't been here for probably at least 70% of the generals so I don't know what all circlejerking has gone on and I do know it can be destructive when it makes new meme-bers feel excluded. I'm just saying there's a reason it happens here and on other forums as well. (EQD is 90% circlejerk. lol.)

To be fair, we've rarely touched on the one topic that I think could keep this thread going for weeks: fanfiction. Of which, if my profile is still accurate, I hold a PhD in (not a real one).
