I'm sorry man, but you need to get a better sense of perspective. A company with a copyright asked that a piece of fan art viciously abusing its characters be taken down after it started to stir up a little too much drama. This isn't exactly Stalinist Russia.

The fact that something like Ask Princess Molestia was even able to be made and last as long as it did is a testament to the extreme liberality of the modern age. Of all the problems in the world today, this is certainly among the least of them, if it is even amongst them at all. Go and find something a little more heavy to justify these declamations of your prideful cynicism.

Molestia's shut-down is completely unrelated to #DownwithMolestia. It was probably reported by someone, but they didn't want to fight it as they were planning to move on anyways. An archive may come up in the future for those interested.

During the DWM controversy, the largest reason for our disagreement against the movement was the simple fact that the Molestia blog ultimately didn't matter. And it was stupid an nonsensical to devote so much time and resources into arguing over such a thing and the unproven impacts it could have

If that's true, and Molestia was never significant enough to warrant this much attention from SJW's, then it also not significant enough to warrant another massive and dramatic shitstorm over it's passing. We can be sad that we lost a good entertainment blog, but lets not be bitter and blameful that Hasbro doesn't like smut of their IP getting public attention and that the artist was done with a 3 year old gag anyway

I never really browsed that blog so I don't think I will miss anything. We'll move on and probably have one less questionable item in the fandom that makes my friends think all Bronies are creepy

Perhaps slightly more than either of us thought, though there is still plenty of development to go before you become a non-hobbit BSOD.

1. It will take more than an interest in electronic. You need an interest in a specific type of it (I don't like just anything electro. In fact, I can be a fierce critic towards it.)
2. You will probably need to be more flirty and less straight
3. You need to brush up on your technojargon and programming lingo
4. You need to love astronomy and Carl Sagan is the only celebrity you respect
5. You will need to be a centrist politically and always look for neutral ground in discussions if you can find one.
6. You need an OC

I'd have to say what annoys me most about the deal being taken down are the people celebrating, cause you know, they'd be happy if something they enjoyed was removed.

Or the stupid deal about it promoting rape, cause yeah, JJ really does that.

If a lot of people were like Blue Screen, the world would be a better place to live.

I know Megan posted that muffins tweet, but…yeah, sometimes she can be a bit iffy. If Derpy does appear I'll be shocked and happy that Hasbro has let her back in, especially after some of the more…questionable decisions they've been making.

Well in a previous tweet Meghan mentioned something along the lines of "knowing exactly when some bronies would lose there minds" There are too many hints to say otherwise.

I think they are finally ready to bring her back…She hasn't had any appearances since season 3 finale or Equestria Girls. Maybe because they are trying to work around the censors, and try to make everypony happy.

But I don't care what happens, how it happens, or when it happens. I just want Derpy to come back to our show. She is the fandom's mascot. The animation error who got a name, a job, via the Bronies and recognition from the shows staff making some of these traits cannon. (As well as making her the "Where's Waldo' pony for the fans)

She is what got me into the fandom, if it weren't for the amount of fan art, stories, and the staffs involvement about this random grey mare. I don't think I would have even given this show a chance. So I can't help but love Derpy and show my appreciation for her.

TL;DR
-I belive Derpy is coming back, the proof is in the muffins.
-Shes the mascot of the fandom and will be loved no matter what.
-She made me the Brony I am today.

I think there's only two things to consider about the end of Molly…

One… It was a NSFW blog… There are hundreds a metric s***ton of those.

Two… It did it reasonably well and managed to at least "Act" like it had some narrative to it… Which is slightly more rare.

The second is the real reason we should cry here, the first is just an extra circumstance.

Anyways… For some reason… I don't think this is necessarily the end of Molestia "As a thing", just the end of the current medium with which she was propagated. By the end of the month, I expect one or more people will have taken up the mantle of writing new Molestia content not affiliated with the original creator.

As a meme, Molestia won't die. She's spent three years getting embedded in sections of brony culture, someone out there somewhere is likely to remember it… And then make some comic of it… Until someone gets serious about it.

While PinkiePony is claiming victory, this really had nothing to do with her. JJ chose to close the Molestia blog on his own accord. Then coincidentally he received a C&D from Hasbro shortly afterwards

It could be argued that the Hasbro C&D was influenced by the social justice controversy since Hasbro only makes this move on projects that receive a lot of public attention. But JJ was already famous and this was probably bound to happen regardless of any SJW efforts..

Plus, the Molestia Blog has already had a good run. It went for how many years? 2? That's a big lifespan for a Tumblr blog and it's not unreasonable that JJ would decide to close it now just so he can move on with other projects

Molestia had a tremendous amount of followers and became so iconic that the blog became the face of the meme itself. I'd say that the blog remains a stunning success.

Here goes:

• The section is too long in length, especially when you compare it to the earlier controversy related sections.
• You would've been better off organising images next to each other. Now you have 2-3 lines and another of Meghan's tweets.
• Your use of naming her "the gray mare" in your addition. No further explanation needed, just use her name.
• The entire scene doesn't really needed to be described, simply the video you embed in your post (so not the screencap) and stating she appeared throughout the episode.
• Same for the tweets at the bottom with what I said earlier, explanation first, both tweets later.

Good to see you were quick in thinking about adding a section to the entry. It didn't even crossed my mind yet, and I had already long forgotten about Meghan's tweets, so your sources are solid. Thanks for the work.

Tried to add McCarthy's tweets together inline, but it didn't look good due to their height differences. Decided to just embed the actual tweets instead. Also shaved off maybe 20% of that section, but kept "the gray mare" just to spice it up a little. (the article already says derpy 500 times. lol.)

I simply removed the image from her second tweet, bringing the height difference down to acceptable levels, and have added them together inlnine. Shaved off a bit more, and did remove "the gray mare" because "to spice it up" isn't really a reason (same for having her name appear multiple times already).

I'm pretty certain Hasbro has nothing to do with this. For one, C&Ding individual blogs would be a vast waste of resources. It's why they never go after fanfics, there's just too many of them. In addition, Calpain has already stated it was the actions of a lone butthurt tumblr user who reported it. Considering this is the third time Molestia's been taken down, I'm disappoint in Tumblr's staff in allowing it to happen again after they already determined twice before it didn't violate the TOS.

Unless you believe in one of the conspiracy theories that Calpain and EQD are doing Hasbro's dirty work and are dishing out the damage control, this lies squarely at the foot of Tumblr's users.

I enjoyed it. Another really nice episode. I was disappointed in the actions of Spitfire, though. You'd think the Captain of the Wonderbolts would act a bit less illegally (since I'm pretty sure the Equestria Games Committee would look down upon fraudulently admitting a new team member). I could see Fleetfoot playing the role as she's a blank slate, but given what we know of Spitfire, it seems a little baffling to see her moral standings crumble. It was also really dickish of them to just kick Soarin under the bus. "Nopony's been by to visit me." What the hell? This is how the famed Wonderbolts treat their teammates?

It was also really nice seeing Soarin. I don't know about anyone else, but I was happier to see him than Derpy. Derpy already has a personality--whether canon or fanon. We know nothing about Soarin other than his like of apple pie, and it was great seeing more of him. Hopefully they'll flesh him out even more heading forward and give the Soarindash folks even more fuel for the growing fire.

I guess I'm the only one who's never really been that big into Derpy. She's nice, but the level some people take her to just seems silly sometimes. I did get my jimmies rustled over the censorship, but that was more because it was censorship than because it was Derpy.

I removed @mktoon's tweet earlier because it's only temporary relevant. If Derpy pops up in the next episode, you can easily extend the line of her making appearances in the show to also read "and continued to do so during the rest of the season from there on out".

That was just my reason, but as you made it now also works, so we'll keep both tweets. My line addition can also be added in the tweets section later. Btw, @mktoon is Vice-President of Development Mike Vogel, and not Vice-President of scripted entertainment Michael Ross, so I corrected that.
