Man, user shipping seems to have become the new defult around here. Has anyone ever made a Pony General User Relationship chart? Because that sounds like something that someone would have made by now.

I generally tend to stay away from user shipping because nobody loves me because I like to keep this douchey holier than thou attitude (I'm judging you all) but if I had to ship myself with anyone it would have to be either a clone of myself or that Spambot (as the Spambot is the only one who would dare stoop to my level). If neither of those choices would want me I guess I'd wait in line for BSoD to finish with his last peasant.

@Stunthead's ride. If it's anything like the Kewln00b ride it'll probably start off great then just disappoint you with a very dissatisfying payoff, also it'll probably end up being very unsafe which would in turn get everyone killed somehow.

Looks like Amy Keating Rogers (writer for Seasons 1, 2, and 4 of MLP) had her own panel at Bronycon where she got to play around with her ukelele.
She's been doing these kinds of performances sporadically at conventions for a while now, so it's nice to see a bunch of them finally recorded.

Here's my personal fav, with its backstory:
Back when the show was first being developed, they wanted an 'extended' opening song to use for promotional purposes and to serve as a short introduction to the concept and characters.
Amy was given the task of writing this intro, and she did, but at some point it was scrapped and replaced with the hyper-punny version you may have seen before (Applejack of my eye, Rainbow Dash to my side, etc.).
Anyway, more recently, Amy took up ukelele lessons and learned one of the instrument's classic popular songs, Jimmy Buffet's 'Margaritaville.'
'Because she's weird' (Amy's own words), she somehow noticed that the tune matched up pretty well to her old theme song lyrics and so…

She played this at EQLA too, but I guess it didn't get recorded or released.
Makes for a very fun little sing-a-long!

@Lyra The Memehog: Honestly, she might not have been a meme herself BEFORE but sometimes a character can be a meme in and of themselves, Derpy and Vinyl Scratch are coutned as memes here and while she's not to their level of popularity yet (well, not to Derpy's level, she seems to quite similar to Vinyl's level now) she definitely shows up a lot independant of specific memes, like those two do. Though admittedly you could still say it's tied to a meme, even if it's not the bunghole plushie or her sitting funny, it's her human/hand fetish stuff.
And Mark's totally right about the backlash being a meme brings now, I've seen a bunch of people on Derpibooru hating Lyra because of all this now, the majority still seem to like her well enough though.
I'd also like to clear up that I don't mind Lyra, even though Mark was (and might still be) convinced that I really hate her, I can go into my thoughts on the popular background characters and give some more detail on why if needed.

Other Pony memes: I second Twiface, it actually has an article on here but it was Deadpooled. Not rightly I might add, I understand that we don't want to seem pony-centric (I've been on the other side of this issue and getting unwittingly bombarded by ponies ain't fun) but that's a really legitimate meme and probably one of the biggest now.
On a sidenote, it's also my favorite.

Well most of the pony memes are contained in the MLP entry itself. Beside, to anyone who isn't a brony they don't mean pretty much anything. So the people who actually use that as a meme are in a pretty small pool and, in my opinion, is not worth it to make an entry just for Twilight with a silly face.

This is definitely one of the coolest shout-outs I've ever seen. I like how there wasn't any official announcement of it. They knew that someone would find it eventually, and that the community would spread the word themselves. Say what you want about Google/YouTube, but they really know how to make nerds happy.

The Official My Little Pony Trading Card Game!

Yep, an actual game this time (and probably at least partially to blame for the recent shutdown of the pony/Magic crossover game).
They even had an example card for a presentation at Bronycon:

Again, just a prototype which is why it has 'Lyra & Bon Bon' at the top but a picture of Zecora, and why half the description is basically the equivalent of 'These are words to fill space.'
Apparently, rather than doing direct battle like you would in most other card games, the more friendly ponies take a different approach.
You will instead be attempting to solve some kind of problem using the various characters and tools in your deck before your opponent can solve theirs.
Functionally, I'm expecting it to operate pretty similarly, just repainting the references to warfare and combat with more kid-friendly things like parties and musical instruments, but we'll see exactly what angle they are taking on the formula sometime soon I suspect.

I'm really looking forward to seeing what each character's ability will be.
Lyra & Bon Bon being on a card together (By the way, first official time these two have been paired?) implies that we will be seeing backgrounders in the mix, so what will they do since they have few, if any, traits in canon?
Anyone want to take some guesses?

Hmm, I've always wondered how you play card games apart from poker. Then again, I hardly know anything about Pokémon.

I can already guess the name they'll put on the Derpy Card: The Forbidden One.

@Yugioh itself. I thought I was tough shit when it came to Yugioh back in middle school since I had Exodia, God Cards (the legit ones), those extremely powerful cards from the movie, and quite a few other hard hitting monsters. I was able to beat anyone on the playground (considering we were all like what, 11 when the show was out? We didn't care about the technical stuff except for the cards with attack points that are more than 2500). Then I entered a tournament….didn't get to use my god cards, some guy destroyed a piece of my Exodia, and it was a disaster. I almost cried No…..I did. So you can count me out of MLP the card game as you won't want to see a 20 something man cry over a game of MLP.

Hmm… Some random thoughts to try and make sure I know how every kind of Pony works. Even the ones not fully elaborated yet.

Earth ponies have some kind of magical affinity for Life, as well as a near supernatural Stamina…

Pegasi have some kind of magical affinity for Air, as well as a near supernatural Swiftness…

Unicorns have some kind of magical affinity with Time and Space, as well as a near supernatural Intelligence…

Crystal Ponies have some kind of magical affinity with Emotion (if love or hope counts as an emotion)… not sure about their other qualities though…

…And we can be fairly certain that Sea Ponies have a magical affinity with Water…

What about Bat Ponies though? Do they have anything special? Does their magical affinity just get summed up as "Darkness"?

Okay, I think I just answered my own question there. Though it makes me wonder if there's a Light based counterpart associated with Celestia.

There's still two other ponies though. Changelings and the hypothetical "Flutter Pony" which may exist somewhere by the fact that they existed in a previous generation.

You may be tempted to say Changelings have an affinity for Love as well… But that's more of a food source than an affinity in this context… So… Deception maybe?

… I have no idea what Flutter Ponies would do… But I'm half tempted to say that since they're basically the lighter equivalent of Changelings, they may have some affinity with Truth.

I was specifically trying to deal with kinds of ponies, not specific individuals. And Alicorns tend to transcend the racial boundaries anyways. For all I care, Luna could have been a Bat Pony before she wound up an Alicorn.

…Discord is probably a unique creature anyways so including him might be pointless…

The only reason I mentioned Celestia was because it's taken for granted that for some reason, Bat Ponies are associated with Luna, so if Bat Ponies have Darkness affinity, then a race associated with Celestia would be the counterpart associated with Light.

…And of course, this means I could have just neglected to mention Celestia all together, but that would take too much effort to find the right phrasing.

(Also, yes, Luna gets Darkness by default, Celestia gets Light by default. But as previously mentioned, Alicorns are special cases and not exactly counted as Races in and of themselves. therefore discussion on them is not helpful to figuring out Racial Affinities.)

As a character, she is as much as a meme as most of the well known background cast. However, she is far from Derpy and Vinyl, so as a character is isn't worthy of a KYM entry (yet).

But, her fandom associations give here a somewhat semi-meme status. It started out as Sitting Lyra, the background shot of her sitting like a human which became a widely used photoshop and even generated numerous amounts of art. It was this "human sitting" habbit that evolved into her human and hands obsession. But as this is a result of "Sitting Lyra", our entry on Sitting Lyra is what explains her human obsession. Perhaps the entry needs a title change and slight rewrite so it covers both, that can be done in 10 minutes, as it already covers both.

Then there's the Lyra Plush, the fuckable one. But that's unrelated to Lyra as a character and more a meme because it's fuckable. If it was a Twilight Plush, results would've been the same.

About movies, I just saw Django Unchained (Yeah , yeah, I'm late), it was a freaking masterpiece. Great movie.

The movie I actually saw in the theater a few days ago was the new Wolverine movie. I didn't like. The best part was the last 2 minutes, where Magneto and Professor X appeared, giving a hint to the next X-Man movie.

I fully recommend this show to any of you who have never seen it.
I only got around to watching it in between seasons four and five, but once I started, I didn't stop.
Those guys know how to write some epic hooks and twists.
Every episode up to the current season is on Netflix (or you could always use less… 'legal' methods) so get watching!
Just leave the chemistry to the professionals.

To relate it to ponies, I really seeing the 'nerdy' or 'intelligent' character types getting more leading roles nowadays.
Typically, the book-smart, science geek would be the sidekick, called upon whenever the hero needed some special gadget or tidbit of knowledge and then quickly pushed to the side so the hero could go be heroic.
But now…
NERD POWER!

Oh trust me, I've been trying to get into Breaking Bad for weeks. But when I mean 'trying' I'm not saying "Oh, this show is so boring but I need to watch it so I can be popular on the interwebz." as I'm already hooked on the show, buuuuuuut fucking Netflix is so fucking buggy right now it has taken me weeks to watch ONE season of this damn show. It lags constantly, crashes in the middle of the episode (won't save progress of where I was in the episode) and just as I finally get to the season 1 finale it has taken me 3 days to get past the first 5 minutes. Now, before anyone says anything: I refuse to pirate the show because I'm not a jew because I'm not a stinking pirate.

Must…..resist…..urge…..to…..talk…..about…..Breaking…..Bad…..

GHHHHHHHAAAAAAAA I FUCKING LOVE THAT SHOW!!!!!!!!! It's really good and it's so addicting. I just watched the latest episode on AMC and…..I shouldn't post spoilers. Anyway, I'm really happy that other people in this thread also like Breaking Bad. Now to bring this back to ponies.

I claim the small room at the end of the hall. Most of the time people will forget that anyone stays there, because I stay in my room all the time and watch the rest of the hall through the peep hole on the door. One person will think to check once a month to see if I'm still alive, and then promptly forget later that day. But I keep people reminded by leaving my room to get pizza that I occasionally order, almost always startling at least one person with my presence.

@TSG: I've never seen those either, but I've heard people IRL recommend the first two to me (more with Game Of Thrones though). Also I guess I'm just desensitised but those kigurumi outfits don't horribly faze me, I can see why they're bothering other people though.
