I dunno, but I do know that BMW is sticking to their guns:

One thing that I think is important is to keep the main article as neutral as possible (basically keep it to what we know and have evidence for, obviously)

One suggestion I would put forward would be to have a section showing off the harassment and slanderous statements from both 'sides' of this debate.
A lot of people I see on other forums and sites keep talking about how "GG is just filled with harassers" and I feel it would help if the page had one section devoted to harassment attempts.
(like for '#GG harassment there was Teridax rewarding people for using the tag to say nasty things and I believe Lizard Squad once said they would SWAT the GameJournoPros – in contrast, anti-GG harassment would include Faraci's tweets, Whedon making the Klansman tag, etc)

I think this would really help those who are uninformed and come to the page to see EXACTLY where all the harassment has come from, and better inform them of the issue.

What is even the point of this thread? yet another place for GGers to dump some ranom´s people twitter arguments and claim superiority?

Dont you already got an entire entry and board on 8chan to do that?

This place is for in depth conversation and discussion. Now the comment section will be just for news and update.

Well, that's the intention anyway.
I'd like to believe it'll work.

So do you want me to remove the articles then?

Edit: I concur that this thread should be moved to General.

I suggest leaving the most up-to-date one on, and adding the links to the rest in the notes for that image.

If this thread move to general there will be a lot of bored KYM people coming in to stink up the thread. We don't want that, do we?

Hey…Doh, you said you were working on something big, any chances you can hint at what it is?

Nah, not working. Seeing something. And i cannot tell you anything about it. Sorry, but that's the price of it.

If you cant give us any details, could tell us one thing?
Is it good? Should we be excited?

Nope. All i can do is tease you about my "mountain o corpse". But yeah, if this pan out it will be huge.

I remember uploading some Amanda Marcotte anti-GG tweets a few weeks ago. I wondered why a journalist not in GJP and not directly involved would be so hostile towards GG . I forgot about it until I learned about JournoList . Then I made that connection. I wasn't the only one but it made a lot more sense.

Um, crap.

I just had a phone call with a friend of mine. Long story short, he's in a bad position right now, and needs help. And I have to hope I can.

Much as I'd like to help report the world's biggest Internet Fight, I have more important things to worry about. I'm sure we all do. It's fun getting to laugh at the insanity GG provides, but now is not the time for me to be chuckling at silly people on the Internet.

No idea how long I'm going to be gone. Hopefully less than a week.

Well, you guys have fun. And take care.

Good luck, comrade. Hope your friend turns out alright.

Stay safe, comrade

Moving to General.

As I see it, you guys are only having a casual conversation about stuff related to GG. There is no debate whatsoever. Only casual conversations.

If this thread move to general there will be a lot of bored KYM people coming in to stink up the thread. We don’t want that, do we?

And no, Serious Debate is not for you guys to have a safe place to talk. Trolling and/or shitposting is still not allowed in General, users will still get a warning and/or a suspension for doing it so you don't have to worry about it.

By the way, don't derail the thread with unrelated stuff. As long as you talk about anything GG related, it should be fine.

So yeah, keep it relevant.

Don't mind the forum, just… what can we do to stop potential shitposting in this thread?

Intentional shitposting in General or Serious Debate can warrant a suspension, so I doubt that will be much of a problem.

The only reason I'm not being talkative because I'm not familiar with Textile.

Shit, I just learn how to link yesterday.

That, and I'm still getting use to using this forum as well. It's like walking in a brand new mall and trying to see the new sights.

I'm not entirely sure about this "move the comments to this forum" thing.
I agree we could find do without whole articles into the image gallery (it does make navigation a bit messy) and maybe ease up on the "motivationnal music" stuff in the comments but except that?

When I look at other KYM comment sections, it's mostly 50% comments adding stuff/confirming/deadpooling and 50% not "pro" stuff like jokes, tweets, pictures, personnal experiences/questions etc… I don't see why we should strive to have a purely 100% totes factual comment section as long as the entry itself (not the comments) is factual and neutral.

Just my opinion, but I don't really like the idea, kinda unnecesarrily divides the conversation hub unlike in other KYM entries.

I'm just wary of some posters, considering their previous antics. Still think this is probably a bad idea.

As for textile
!Imagelink.png! and Randommessage are what you need.

It was fun while it lasted.

Since it's a busy entry that's still ongoing, updates of new events should take top priority. Other shitposts and commentary are unnecessary for ongoing events in general.

real talk, i can see where gamergate is coming from, (journalistic integrity is important) but some of you guys are taking this shit way to seriously.

If Im not mistaken, its the sight's polecy that means they have to do this.
I dont like it either, but we've survived much, much, MUCH worse. It's probably not something that matters anyway.

We have been compaired to ISIS before, and not even by trolls. We were compaired to it by a guy from badass digest and he didnt even get reprimanded for saying it, nor did he apologize.
Dont believe me?

Thats a problem if I've ever seen it

As far as I can recall, this is the very first instance of journalists in a medium slandering their own audiences on a massive scale, and then offered no sincere apology afterwards. Not in cinema, not in music, not in literature, not in comic books, not in sports. This event is unprecedented.

really? that's nothing new, people have been doing shit like that on the internet for as long as i can remember, and you guys seem to love doing stuff like comparing yourselves to famous heroes, or comparing the struggle for video game ethics to world war 2. I'm sorry but that's way over doing.

If by that you mean the memers are taking this way to seriously, it's kind of Know Your Meme's job to take everything on the internet seriously.

If not, you should really keep in mind some of the giant shit that was slung at us. Have you read any of the "gamer's are dead" articles?

Don't you know. Literally anything can be compared to WWII, why do you think Poe's Law exists?

I'm pretty serious when I post, but I'm having a laugh especially since the anti-GG side just keeps putting their foot in their mouth. Although yes, some of the pro-GG side are pretty arrogant and self-aggrandizing, try to empathize that these people were mostly silenced and their voices and opinions not heard or cared about for years.

It's pretty cathartic for many.

Um, I honestly don't know whether or not this is related to GamerGate. Although the Polygon Review is absolutely relevant in the corruption in gaming journalism, especially when reviewing a game, there doesn't seem to be an effective countermeasure other than calm/angry Twitter posts, having advertisers pull off from Gawker, Gamatsura, etc. so far.

There, I want to call out and propose that we should buy Bayonetta 2, in both the name of #GamerGate & #OperationPlatnium.

So far, it's the only counterargument against the whole misconception of gamers as misogynistic white assholes. True there's #notyourshield, but it isn't enough. They retaliate with assumptions stupider than dying to your first Goomba or failing to pass the easiest tutorial level known to every gamer ever.

Now here's why I believe you should buy Bayonetta 2:

1. It's about a sexy lady who knows that she is, indeed, sexy and can kick ass at her leisure.
FFS, if we hated woman then we wouldn't have a cult about Bayonetta in the first place! But we accept woman in video games and therefore we have a cult, but it's very small. Our recent viewposts towards Bayonetta on KYM raised for a few days, and then disappeared. That shows you how small it is.

2. We're supporting a company that cares about quality, deserves praise and awards yet rewarded poor sales as a reward for publishing quality, and has done no scandals in doing so.
So many of Platnium's games are either low-scored (GodHand) or didn't sell well, (Bayonetta, Wonderful 101, Vanquish, Madworld, and maybe both Okami and Metal Gear Rising: Revengance). And it's true that Bayonetta is the most success, but when you put it in the same line as their other games, then you know how "successful" it is. So why not break the record of those sales combined?

3. Don't forget that a female developer also worked on this game
Same reason as #1, but much stronger, since Mari Shimazaki is the character designer of Bayonetta 2, and our meme-worthy Jonathan McIntosh slandered it like an idiot.

4. Supporting Nintendo(?) and as well as thanking them for the development of a good sequel
Be honest haters, if it no one had stepped up to fund a sequel, then Platnium would've quickly announced a cancellation stating there would be no Bayonetta sequel because no one is interested in publishing it. Reason I put a "?" there is because Nintendo doesn't give a fuck about money, only quality-developed video games as well as how to make a new system feel "special" against a PC-hardware-driven community (though they do hiccup at times, like that one Metroid game).

Honestly, you can just buy the game and not the system. Buy the Wii U at your own leisure, because some of you have The Evil Within, and I am impressed with it so far. I, on the other hand, await October 24, 2014, with my Wii U on deck, ready to submit it to my hands.

It is call believe whole heartedly in a cause. It is a drug. It can get you to tremendous high and soul crushingly low. But it is what drive us.
