Some things I want to get off my chest

I love and hate KYM for many reasons

Good things:
-It has a nice divide of different opinions from the spectrum of politics
-Generally intelligent people with a "wicked" sense of humor
-Good image system so I intake as much as possible (and not do my homework)
-Dank memes
-Variety in opinions
-"Some mods are ok"
-One of the few websites that (well not everyone here) people understand the different between being on the "right" dosen't mean your a neo-nazi who hates Muslims and wants to blow up the Middle East
-Speaking of, one of the few websites that understands that Islam needs to be discussed and that does not make it "Islamophobic" to do so
-Muscles > Moe (nothing is wrong with cute but I'm glad strong women and men get more appreciation here!)

Bad things:
-(and really most of these are common in ALL of the internet)
-Fuck ton of circlejerking
-This sort of "mountain out of molehill" mentality with a good chunk of people here, like, oh no! The Overwatch game devs just got rid of a butt pose holy fuck! SJWS ARE TAKING OVER
-The roleplaying goes from cute to just…. sad very fast, like we get it, but if you at like Penny from RWBY under a comment section about a recent terrorist attack…. that's pretty bad
-(this is more of 4chan's problem but it's here alot to) Despite ALL the images with funny jokes that everyone for the most part here likes that originate from Tumblr…. there is still a mentality that ALL people there are feminists? Are you people that dense?
-Monster Musume and the fans here are just…. just… terrible
-General pretentiousness "Oh look this cartoon character cried which symbolizes the problems in modern society blah blah blah…."
-And I hate the fact that I was most likely guilty of this too, but I hope that I have changed at least a bit

I know I might get banned soon, but I just want to say thanks for the laughs guys, and no hard feelings in the end ya bastards!~

-BearGlitch/BearGlitch1

I liked more Cow and Chicken than Ren & Stimpy, well because i grow up watching this show than R&S. I watched ren and stimpy too much late. And although the humor of Cow and chicken was too weird, neverthless it was funny and even heartwarming sometimes.

MatPat has some interesting ideas, but his problem is the fact that he so often comes to inane conclusions, either because he does poor research or just awkwardly drops the original idea to go off on a tangent.

In the infamous Sans is Ness video, for example, he begins with "Can you imagine a world where we're all represented by a font?". This is an interesting hypothetical, but he doesn't go far with it before he just ditches the idea entirely in favor of proposing that Sans is actually from the surface. This, too, is an interesting and fairly reasonable theory, but then MatPat screws it all up by coming to the conclusion that Sans is Ness despite all logic dictating otherwise.

MatPat obviously isn't just stupid since he does come up with some good ideas, so I get the impression he's deliberately making his theories as absurd as possible in an attempt to get more views.

If there's one position that I find truly corrosive to discussion (especially on this site these days) I'd seriously have to say it's centrism.

"Hey what's wrong with that Slow like what if I just don't have a strong opinion on something one way or another?"

At the risk of being accused of trying to censor people – despite being the last guy here who would actually do something like that – I would have to ask – why would you comment at all if that was the case?

Like really. I'd like to think things like introspective and being able to see things from other people's points of view play a large part in the centrist mindset, but I'm not getting that idea at all. I feel if that were the case the people dismissing everyone that's a little too left or right of center for their taste as "extremists" would simply understand why people might be that way and let things be without cluttering discussion with their posts that are usually just half self-wankery and half "pls don't downvote me!".

It'd be different if centrists made an effort to actually consider the points both sides are trying to make in an argument and put them into perspective more often, but most of the time their posts seem to come down to "haha everyone is dumb but me" which contributes absolutely nothing to the exchange of ideas. Meanwhile even the most "extreme" person in an argument might at the very least post some interesting articles to back up their position. However It really seems like, to a centrist, the argument only exists to serve as yet another platform for them to jerk themselves off on in front of the entire community.

We've all had that "I'm so enlightened!" phase in high school, I get it, but it wears off once you realize no position on the spectrum has all the answers, and that people will naturally gravitate towards certain positions based on their own life experiences and individual ideas of what's most important. Just take me for example. As a conservative I know my mindset isn't bulletproof, but I adopted it because things involving national security are very important to me.

In conclusion I think you'd have to be pretty "extremist" yourself to seriously believe and impose that the centrist way is the only way of looking at things – and it's "extremely" ironic to me that the term "extremist" is basically used by centrists the same way the alt-right uses cuck and SJWs use shitlord.

You can accuse me of "le strawmanning", but I know we've all seen exactly what I'm talking about here by now.

I know they did not mean to insult, but when people try to comfort someone who is failing at school by saying "You did the best you could", I interpret that line as "The only grade you will ever be capable of getting is an F".

If CinemaSins complements a movie on something, they should remove sins on the sin count instead of adding sins to the sin count (Matrix, Blade). I know that seems counter intuitive, CinemaSins, but c'mon :|

They have in the past. Godzilla (2014) and Rise of the Planet of the Apes has it at certain points.

So I watched a lot of Dragon Ball Z as a kid when it was on Toonami in the late 90's / early 00's and loved it, but looking at it now it's terrible. To me, it's clear that it was the point that Toriyama stopped wanting to write stories about Goku, but either was contractually obligated to do so or still wanted the money. So it stopped being about martial arts, and instead was about supermen who were always floating and could move faster than the human eye because it made drawing easier. Everytime he tried to kill off Goku and replace him with Gohan he had to keep bringing the character back. All main villains are essentially the same multiphase boss fight and eventually only the main character can even contribute. The only time it's remotely entertaining is when no actual fighting is going on because some of that old Dr. Slump humor makes its way in. Almost everything that made Dragon Ball special was gone, and It was surpassed by so many other shonen series at the time. In particular, Yu Yu Hakusho did everything that Dragon Ball Z did but better, even though it had a weak ending arc that the author admits he didn't want to do. GT at least went weird with it and temporarily depowered Goku, so when I heard that Super was being announced because it already went on two series too long.

Part of the reason I really like One Piece is that I feel it's the manga/anime that Z should have been.

Two things:

1) I can find some fun in No Man's Sky, but that's just me since I kinda like grinding and doing tedious and repetitive things (I have Asperger's, mind you, that might be the reason :P). I realize why other people would be bored out of their minds fairly quickly though. I never bought the hype anyway. I heard the game title so many times and not once was I interested and checked what all the hubbub was about. I just borrowed it from my boyfriend through GOG, I'm clocked at 10 hours playtime total right now. A lot of things regarding gameplay are ridiculous and outlandish in its implementation, but I can definitely see some value, unlike others.
Unfortunately though, all the lies brought on by the developers smashed NMS and its great concept to smithereens at release. Although I feel kind of sorry for them since they were at one point stuck between a rock and a hard place and thus had to resort to lying about their game, I don't condone silly behavior like that at all and I wouldn't buy it for the current price in any case. That's why I NEVER pre-order! Seriously, people ought to have learned their lesson by now, but the ones throwing money around make it easy for dev teams and publishers to pull off shit like this. A shame Hello Games have yet to apologize for this mess, it makes the whole debacle all the worse.

2) If I had been introduced to the manga of JJBA: Phantom Blood before I had watched Part 3 Stardust Crusaders as a newcomer to this series, I would never ever have touched JJBA again. Because the first part is, bluntly put, boring as hell! It's not so bad story-wise, but the characters were a mess (exception being Zeppeli). Jonathan has such a bland personality, and Dio is just the stereotypical villain being evil for the sake of being evil. Don't get me started on Speedwagon. Since a lot of people really seem to like the guy, I won't say any more. It's just not any fun to read except for the gore and Araki's detailed artstyle.
But yeah, I wouldn't even give a second glance towards this series if this was what I had first experienced.

I think that suicide is a personal choice, if you want to commit suicide and are in the mental state to assess what you're about to do fully and it's effects then I wouldn't stop you. Doesn't mean I won't try to convince you otherwise.

This is really only an unpopular opinion among Americans, but the level of patriotism expected of you in America is more damaging to the country than it is respectful. I feel like if us Americans weren't taught from day one of kindergarten to suck our countries dick everyday, we would have a lot less problems.

I Agree, I feel like its borderline nationalism these days.

Might have said this before, but I think MLP is starting to feel like fanfiction. Been getting these feelings since Season 5, still feel like that in Season 6. Plus, Season 6's episodes are starting to become very simple and cut right to the point that it just feels so lazy. On top of that, why have there been so many weird faces lately?

I enjoy playing X-Legend's MMORPGs, they aren't all that bad. They're pretty solid and enjoyable, and I don't really find much of a P2W aspect in any of them. Hopefully after Laplace, they could utilise a new engine and maybe move on from the hot bar combat to something a little more Action RPG like (PSO2 for example) but I'm really enjoying how colourful Twin Saga is, it reminds me of when I used to play Eden Eternal, which stemmed from my love for dotHack. Just wish that they'd do a little more with the character creation now.

Edit: now that I remembered something, Xenoblade Chronicles X doesn't seem to be that bad of a game, I haven't played it myself but I'm currently playing Xenoblade Chronicles and I'm having fun with it. With that said, I've gotten a liking for the game's soundtrack, both of them, they're just so good.

This might tie into a comment I made in this same thread about half a year ago, but I honestly can't see why people on this site likes RWBY that much.
I mean besides the obvious fanservice stuff I see about it (one time the entire preview gallery of it was all NSFW), to me it seems like a similar situation with Harry Potter more than anything.
-A child gets special powers and attends a special school to train those powers
-There's a mysterious evil organization that wants to destroy society and/or aforementioned special school
-Aforementioned child and his/her friends fight said evil organization
See what I'm getting at? I can understand why some people like it, but why is it that so many people like it?
Also, why the hell can you buy it at Walmart or watch it on Netflix when you can just watch it on Youtube for free?

Sorry for double posting, but honestly if I was forced to chose either Hillary or Trump, I'd choose Trump.
The reason behind this is the new Obamacare act has really hurt my family. Even though I don't live with them anymore, my father's job as a doctor has become a living hell for him. As well, our health insurance has rocketed through the roof.
I know some people think Donald Trump becoming president would be worse if Hitler rose from the dead and became president (which honestly is asinine, it wouldn't be good, but it wouldn't be THAT bad), but honestly for me he's my only hope of Obamacare being removed, because it sure as hell won't be removed if Hillary is elected.
I mean, what am I suppose to choose here? Do I vote for someone who might run the country better (which I also honestly don't think she would, neither of them are), or for someone who might help my family?

I don't watch full livestreams. As much as I love watching Vinesauce highlights, I don't have the time or patience to watch Vinny or Joel for 3 hours straight. I'll sometimes pop in to watch a few minutes of a stream, but it's never that much.

Why are some Jojo fans so salty making up blogs like this

Persona was inspired by Jojo, that's a fact, (a lot of japanese stuff were?) but why y'all gotta bring up the smallest details, call it a ripoff, and ignore everything else Persona does originally

Their atmosphere and vibe is different. Persona's atmosphere is classy and stylish, while Jojo's is outrageous and flamboyant

Persona is an urban fantasy (with a mix of mystery and heist/caper elements in 4 and 5 respectively) RPG that has social sim elements. Jojo is a shounen manga.

I'm also seeing stuff how Diamond is Unbreakable is supposedly the original Persona 4 because they're both murder mysteries, because you know they're the only murder mysteries to ever exist out there and JJBA just happens to be first. Jesus

That, and it's considered bad form to downvote in this thread unless someone is obviously making bad shitposts, so controversial opinions often end up with more krama than they would have normally.

Point withdrawn, I don't even know why I posted that.

I think game purists, people who complain about censorship are annoying, for example the Bravely Second. The "bad" endings of sidequest were taken out of the game due to the complaints of Japanese players, rumors spread through that those endings were plot related. Nintendo of America released a statement to tell people the reason why it was cut out, the purists ignored this continued to use rumors as facts.

Kind of an odd one: I think some people go much too far to avoid (TV Tropes link warning) said bookisms. Just because you shouldn't use excessively flowery language doesn't mean you should use "said" literally every time. Writing "asked" once or twice won't ruin your book.

Have you read these comments? Its not true at all, all these opinions are very popular, or at the very least, unpopular, but no one cares (apples taste better than bananas!! such a brave opinion.).

The idea that having a balanced game is boring/impossible, and that games should instead try to have "perfect imbalance" is complete bullshit. Having 1-2 characters, builds, playstyles etc. completely shitting on all of the others isn't "fun", even if which 1-2 of these changes every month. If something's broken, you just fix it instead of trying to implement endless overly-contrived workarounds that the average player wouldn't even consider, in attempt to preserve the apparent "charm" in having one player destroy everyone else because they picked ____.

I never liked Uncharted
I hate cinematic games, unless it has ridiculous cutscenes like Metal Gear.
I hate the idea of VR, it feels like a really gimmicky idea of giving games the first person perspective.

This has probably been said before but if it hasn't, constantly using 1984 or probably any George Orwell work as hyperbole for whatever's going on in western society right now kind of devalues it honestly. Not to mention, it makes anyone who says that it is constantly at that a bit of a raving lunatic.

-Despite i like Kojima videogames he has big ego comparable to David Cage ego.
-The new Resident Evil look like Texas Chainsaw Massacre simulator.
-I don't like how the new God of War looks like try hard clone of The Last of Us.

What a bold opinion that is. It must take real courage to announce such an unpopular opinion of thinking that games should have balanced characters.

The political chart test is a bad means of judging one's and others' political alignments because the most popular test is extremely biased towards left-libertarian (and I say this as a somewhat left-libertarian person) where only someone who is openly a supervillain would get results very far out of the bottom left square, and its tendency to paint politics in the English-speaking world as "they're all basically the same so there's no point in voting" when in reality, especially in the United States, the different presidential candidates in particular have differences that can profoundly alter the fate of the planet itself (hint: climate change is one of them) and voting is probably more important now than it's been in a long time. Plus politics, from my experience, shouldn't be judged on a spectrum because it's personal opinions and human thought can't be "measured".

There is a rather large amount of people who find broken gameplay elements more fun than balanced ones. In fact, I've met more on of the former than the latter. But of course, it could always be a vocal minority.

I hope you don't mind that I post some UPDATES on some of my previous unpopular opinions.

  • When I said that I didn't want Shovel Knight in Smash, I was referring more to Smash 4 at the time as I thought he is very recent for a third party. If there is a Smash Bros. for the NX, I wouldn't mind seeing him in that one as he has gained plenty more recognition, especially in Japan. If anything, he does have a better chance than Shantae since he's practically the first one you think of when you hear "indie game"
  • Many of you know I'm not really a fan of Evangelion, Attack on Titan, and Jojo's Bizarre Adventure. While not an update per say, all I can say is that I do think they are very good shows, they're just not my cup of tea. I know, I know I'm just repeating myself when I say this point, it's strangely been on my mind for awhile now. That being said though, I might give Evangelion and Jojo another shot (especially Jojo since it's coming to Toonami soon, though this may be of a more casual viewing rather than a binge watch).
  • While I'm still not a fan of Project M because I felt it was very disrespectful towards Sakurai's hard work on Brawl, I do give the Project M devs props for creating an honestly pretty good mod, from the stages to the balancing.
  • Before I said that I didn't want a seventh generation of Pokémon. That was mostly because I felt that X and Y felt lacking to the point where I found the anime a whole lot better than the games in terms of story and characters (especially Team Flare). I just didn't want the Seventh Gen to come too soon. I am looking forward to Sun and Moon, I just wish that they put a bit more focus on Kalos first.

You haven't even made a single post in this thread that isn't just bitching about other people's posts. Funny you should be asking me to "put some effort in".

Knock it off you two! MiloticExalted, Poochyena, get over it! Move along now!

Anyway, I believe Sony doesn't get enough credit for their games. Games such as Jak and Daxter, Ratchet and Clank, and Sly Cooper were very good and commercially successful. But everybody would rather focus on how Sony screwed up. There's a reason the PlayStation and PlayStation 2 were highly successful.
