Hulk Hogan Dropping A Second Leg Drop Against Gawker

>The New York Post reports that Hulk Hogan has filed another lawsuit against Gawker Media after the $140 million legal victory he received in the first suit. This time he’s suing over Gawker allegedly leaking sealed court documents to The National Enquirer which had him making racist remarks.

>The lawsuit states that after the racist comments leaked, Hogan’s “income was cut off, his legacy in entertainment was severely damaged (if not completely destroyed), and his global brand was forever tarnished.”

>Hogan claims that it was Gawker who sent the transcript, even though it was filed under seal as part of their lawsuit over a sex tape with Heather Clem (the wife of Bubba the Love Sponge). The lawsuit claimed that “Gawker had been threatening to release publicly for months.” Gawker CEO Nick Denton wrote a blog entry stating that Hogan’s “real secret” would be revealed around the same time as the Enquirer posted the information online. Minutes after the leak, Gawker editor AJ Daulerio tweeted to Hogan with “XOXOXO” and a link to the Enquirer after the article. Hogan later admitted he made the racist comments and apologized.

>Hogan is also suing several Florida residents, including DJ Mike “Cowhead” Calta, for sending at least one of his sex tapes to Gawker. Police decided not to file criminal charges against Calta and others. Gawker is currently appealing Hogan’s $140 million victory over the first sex tape and denied that it leaked the transcript to the tabloid. It’s unknown how much money Hogan is suing for.

Good thing is Hogan is supported by gamers who are known for looting, scavenging, transmuting, reanimating, mutilating, burning, beating to a pulp, and in general, desecrating corpses in a variety of ways for different purposes. And as we know, Gamers are not only desecrating corrupt journo corpses, but actually undead themselves nowadays.

Not to mention most of us play necromancers at least once. Frim MTG's Golgari Swarm to Warframe's Nekros, and everything else you can imagine, Gamers are experts at handling corpses!

Hey I'm not complaining either, it's more like what else can he get out of them

Much likely he is not interested in finding out what to get from them, he just wants to ruin their career as much if not more than they ruined his.

Hogan is forcing Gawker to pay, he know they will try all the tricks in the book.

If he keeps attacking them, well, there is no way Gawker will win, Gawker is having money problems, so another lawsuit mean they will have to pay their lawyers and other people, Hulkster knows he won the first match, but this doesnt mean he won the feud.

The Hulkster will either make them pay or force them to declare bankruptcy or both.

Always Double-Tap!

If Hulk gets proof from this that Gawker leaked the rest of the tape after the court said "don't do that" then everyone involved is going to jail.

Didn't they basically announce that they were doing that on their own site?

Not exactly a surprise, these people all hate art, see it as nothing more then a vehicle for their propaganda.

They want to judge art on morality, they want to be the deciders of what is permitted & what is forbidden, and then they are shocked when you compare them to every other authoritarian "cultural critic" with a vision of properly moral art.

Jack Thompson, Mary Whitehouse, Fredric Wertham, Anthony Comstock, the Index Librorum Prohibitorum, the Reichskulturkammer, and so many more who believed themselves on the Right Side of History™.

The most disgusting part is that unlike most of those groups and individuals their morality is full of double standards. I mean, Salon and other SJW sites defended child molesters while attacking pedophiles who control their impulses and those who draw erotic content in general.

I find it absurd that the attack comes from an argument as messy as age of consent which should never apply to fiction, we can't even figure out how to make it work in real life. Worldwide the average would be around 16 to 15, in Mexico the federal age of consent is 12, in Spain it used to be 13 before 2015, in Germany it is 14, in USA it is 16, it is arbitrary, a total mess, and nobody agrees on the right one. Such a thing barely works in real life, it does not work at all in art and fiction. It is like trying to apply victorian morality to Ancient Greece.

Not quite Gamergate but since GG is part of geek culture, yet again media indicating how we're a cesspool of humanity, etc etc etc.

The movie itself might be decent or better, but the trailer wasn't very good imo. I recall maybe a couple jokes I found funny. Also, I think making the cast all-female is more like a fan-fiction thing, which I don't find particularly interesting. I think making something original with an all-female cast would be better than taking a franchise and changing the sexes. It just seems like a better thing to do.

Wouldn't judging art based on morality require you to have morals to begin with?

Brace yourselves. nuPPG may be getting ready to pull an SVU.

When the girls visit the Townsville arcade, they are shocked to see that all the boys have suddenly turned on them, but it appears things aren’t as simple as they seem.

I had dismissed it out of hand as another 4chan "leak"…

Then one of the writers tweets this and given how "progressive" the show is and its liberal use of memes, I suddenly think the possibility's a lot higher.

After double-tapping, remember to dismember the corpse and cremate it. Be thorough as some zombies are stubborn enough to keep coming back.

I am not sure if I get the wire and jars thing, but it reminds me of some folk tales in Mexico.

It's a reference to H.P. Lovecraft's "The Terrible Old Man." The titular old man kept a bunch of old sealed jars with lead weights suspended by wire inside them.
"And they say that the Terrible Old Man talks to these bottles, addressing them by such names as Jack, Scar-Face, Long Tom, Spanish Joe, Peters, and Mate Ellis, and that whenever he speaks to a bottle the little lead pendulum within makes certain definite vibrations as if in answer."

That is he kept the souls of his old shipmates in glass bottles so he could talk to them long after they were dead.

CalArts has been spitting out some low quality talent lately. And low quality people.

I'm surprised I wasn't waiting for this.

It was a Lovecraft reference… I feel ashamed, I call myself a Lovecraft fan, even wrote an article about similarities between his work and a MTG block, yet somehow miss a reference and mistake it for something related to Mexican folktales. Not big deal, but quite shameful for a supposed fan.

On the PPG thing. The show has been constantly called awful. I watched a few episodes and they were decent, but not even close to the old ones, they lack the feeling, and the animation sucks. It always feels slow, lacks movement. It is not even an action cartoon now, just a slice of life corpse of what it used to be. And removing Sarah Bellum, one fo the few characters in all Townsville who actually was capable of reason, was a mistake. She was actually a positive female role model, and she is gone. SJWs really only care about being righteous in the outside. Get ready for a total spaghetti flood, people are actually hating the show anyway.

Cartoon Network is making so many mistakes lately with most of their shows and brands.

Well, the show still does well in ratings, despite the negative reception

And what other mistakes have they done?

That is exactly why Sarah Bellum is gone. Because she was a positive female role model.
Same thing as before, these people call good evil and evil good; they call bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.

Injecting social justice into Adventure Time, not to mention overcomplicating the plot to the point that it is tedious to adults and children alike. Allowing Uncle Grandpa to even exist (I find it funny and all, and actually I am watching it right now, but I always feel there is something wrong with it I can't even point what it is, like a lovecraftian being made into a cartoon), making shows aimed at children which could scare them and make them feel bored at the same time, allowing Teen Titans Go! To exist (Another brand sodomized by CN), cancelling both Young Justice and Thundercats, making MAD TV, one of the cheapest parody sketch shows ever, cancelling Symbionic Titan, removing Toonami and Adult Swim in some regions, removing all anime from the programming in those regions, Allowing a show based on The Annoying Orange, the creation of The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack, cancelling Generator Rex while there was still potential, all their live action shows, producing and broadcasting an animated cartoon based on the horrible Mexican show El Chavo del Ocho for latin America, avoiding the transmission of certain shows or episodes in Latin America, transmitting 4Kids anime dubs.

Well those are all the CN blunders I have seen. But I am sure people in other countries know others

And the new PPG is the lates blunder, they try to use it as some sort of compass trying to find out the trendy pole. First they made an episode which triggered SJWs for being "transphobic" and now they try to shit on gamers, on arcade gamers it seems. They just try to find out which is the right folk devil and what is trendy. There is even twerking. Sorry but I never wanted to see Blossom twerking, I had her in a better image.

One of the few well done things CN made later was We Bare Bears, the rest are either nutral or bad.

Hrom wrote:

Well, I personally feel the same way about "Steven Universe." I feel that it lacks substance, and it clearly has a lot of SJW/feminist fueled content. The animation is uninteresting, the music is like elevator muzak, and I don't care for the voice acting.

There are also a few other recent cartoons that were just straight up lousy, but I can't remember their names right now. Nor do I know if there's any specific connection to CalArts.

OK, now you are just overreacting, not to mention being paranoid as hell
Steven Universe is actually a good show, and so is Adventure Time
In fact, those might be some of the best stuff they ever created

Hrom wrote:

Not even close to the best, decent, but not even close to the best. Especially not if you consider shows such as Generator Rex and Teen Titans, and that is just mentioning fairly recent ones produced by CN, because if you consider old classics such as Samurai Jack or even works of other companies such as Avatar: The Last Airbender, Gravity Falls, Phineas and Ferb, and My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic, well, both Steven Universe and Adventure Time are too tedious to actually beat those, not to mention they have some of the most toxic fanbases in history.

Thinking about it, even among current CN shows they are not that cool. Both We Bare Bears and Over The Garden Wall are more entertaining and pleasant, not to mention a lot less tedious.

Look, Steven Universe is interesting, but most of the good episodes have no identity politics in them. Let' be honest, almost nobody really cares about identity politics in cartoons. And Adventure Time began to lose it's charm since the Lich story arc. Now it is just too tedious.

Now, setting those two shows aside you can't deny that Cartoon Network really makes horrible mistakes by allowing very good shows to die and letin horrible ones exist. I would rather have a few more seasons of Thundercats and Young Justice than watching Teen Titans Go! again. And honestly working in Latin America to create an animation based on one of the most mind numbing Mexican shows is a very bad idea.

And back to the concerning matter what they are doing with PPG is awful. I insist, even though I had an emotional attachment to Blossom when I was in elementary school, seeing her Twerking is soul crushing. Dunno, it feels kind of like remembering your elementary school crush and finding her working as a stripper. Feels like crap dude.

And that is my point, Cartoon Network does not handle most brands properly, and when they see one they find "successful" they wear it down like with Ben 10. Oh, and their reboots are so awful now people are starting to feel concern about the upcoming Samurai Jack reboot and their only hope is that it is slated for Adult Swim. Now, thinking about it, another god awful reboot/follow up was Xiaolin Chronicles, took everything we liked from Xiaolin Showdown and dumbed it down, and even worse, changed the continuity, lore, and even the names of some legendary artifacts.

I could extend even further on each CN blunder individually, but even if we put Adventure Time, which I criticize, and Steven Universe which not everyone likes, aside, there are many other unquestionable mistakes. And seriously, that show based on The Annoying Orange was shit, Probably one of the worst pieces of crap to ever exist inspired on YouTube channels.

Generator Rex was just above average
And why are you still harping an The Annoying Orange TV series which was canceled some time ago?
And Young Justice got screwed-over by advertisers.
(Also, I have to laugh whenever someone complains about Teen Titans Go, and the cancelation of Young Justice, seeing how when Young Justice still aired, people were demanding for it to be cancelled andTeen Titans brought back.)

Also, we are going off toppic

Steven Universe is not about identity politics. Just because SJWs go crazy for a show for fifteen minutes doesn't mean it was pandering to them, they disowned the show after the crew called them out for bullying anyway.

If lesbians and plus sized women count as identity politics then the porn industry must be SJW too.

Heck even Young Justice was better.
