Things that make you feel old.

Despite your age(late teens, mid 20s and so on)what are the things that make you feel that time has sped up or a time skip?Everything goes:movies, games, memes, events.

For me:
-Ed Edd n Eddy movie:The fact that it's almost been 10 years since this movie came out it feels so weird to me.The fact that it ended before Samurai Jack got its final season,7 years and half.

-Caramelldansen:this was problably the 1st ever meme that I've ever seen.It was back in 2008 when I was finally allowed to go to the Internet.Since then I've went deeper and deeper with memes and I'm still doing it.

-Spongebob Ms Paint videos:These were brutal,I was shocked when I first saw them when I was a kid at the time when they were still new.

-The Brony Invasion:Hard to believe that it has been so long since the bronies invaded the internet. They were everywhere,on this website MLP was always the top trending gallery, unstoppable.Nowadays the fandom is far smaller than before, still active but not as much as before.

Increasingly, everything. I'm old enough to remember a time when people listened to All Star un-ironically, when everybody laughed because the president got a blowjob, when my friends and I shared Salad Fingers quotes in the lunchroom.

Also, I stopped paying attention to pop music and MTV over a decade ago, so almost any singer's name is foreign to me.

My mother is 51 years old, my middle brother turned 21 and is now fully enjoying alcohol (responsibly thank god), my youngest brother will be turning 18 this year, and it has been 7 years since I joined the site.

MRW people post about feeling old because they're in college.

Let's feel old with movies:

There are 14 Land Before Time Movies, and I saw the first one in a movie theater during its theatrical release.

18 years have passed between The Phantom Menace and Current Year, while only 16 years passed between The Phantom Menace and The Return of the Jedi.

The last Lord of the Rings film was released 14 years ago.

The year Back to the Future is set in (1985), is closer in time to the year Marty McFly traveled to (1955), than Current Year is to 1985.

Aladdin (1992) is just as far removed in time from the Jungle Book (1967) as Current Year is from Aladdin.

  • Pokemon Diamond and Pearl were my first Pokemon games ever, and they came out 10 years ago. The soundtrack just makes me wanna shed a tear out of sheer nostalgia. The same can be said for the anime counterpart. I watched so many episodes of that series that to this day, seeing Ash, Dawn, and Brock part ways makes me feel very sad.
  • Seeing movies that were in theaters 2-3 years ago on cable channels. Not talking about HBO, Starz, Showtime, or Cinemax, I'm talking about channels like FX, TNT, AMC, etc. FX is really guilty of this since they always put out Marvel movies, so seeing Iron Man 3, Captain America Winter Soldier, and Guardians of the Galaxy on that channel makes me feel weird because it just felt like yesterday there were on the big screen.
  • I agree with Baron too about the whole brony takeover. I would know because I actually took part in that. To think all that was 6 years ago…That is actually when I discovered KYM, which I didn't become a member until 2013.
  • As mentioned above, I've been on KYM for almost 4 years now…I've uploaded over 1000 images on this site, some I found online and some I personally made for shits and giggles.
  • Whenever something becomes one year old, I realize how much time goes by so quickly. Like Overwatch for instance, it's currently celebrating its anniversary all month long.

When your parents are in their mid-40s and you're in your early 20s. In addition, my younger sister just graduated from Middle School so yeah…

Well it's been about nearly 10 years since Toon Disney was still a channel and DisneyXD wasn't the new title of the channel.

My first actual game I beat with no help from my older siblings was Lego Star Wars 2 on the PS2. That came out 11 years ago

Last Power Rangers Season I watched fully before I learned about Super Sentai or any other Toku franchise that wasn't Godzilla was Jungle Fury and that lasted from 2008 to 2009

My first Official Pokémon Game I beat on my own was Pokémon Diamond though my first game I officially remember playing was Pokémon Red and and Pokémon Crystal. (Older siblings had those games)

My first game console I remember was the Nintendo 64. I was maybe 3 when I was playing it.

Rainforest Cafe was still a lucrative Restaurant before it went under and I remembergoing there when I was like 6.

The fact that I'm starting to have memories that took place 20 years ago.

The fact that I graduated high school 5 years ago.

I've been watching Youtube Poops for almost 10 years.

I'm older than about half of the players that were taken in the NFL Draft this year.

I received a Gamecube for Christmas the year it came out, which was nearly 16 years ago. I still have it.

My nephew, who I haven't seen since 2009, is now well past the age that I was the last time I saw him. Makes me wonder how he is doing nowadays.

This highly popular "disposeable" lifestyle we live it‘s hard to keep being fresh and in with can cause suicides and mislead people to think at their own demise..
Its cool though….

If it were 1111 we would have one and one and be done. Pun/sprung

When people discuss things that were part of their childhood that happened when I was already grown up.

Example: Club Penguin.

I remembered when my primary school teacher introduced us students to Youtube back in 2006. Since we had done our final year exam, we spent the whole day watching whatever trending videos there like Naruto parodies and vlogs.

As the time goes by, I have witnessed some of the popular stuff there like Fred, Youtube Poop, GTA SA mods and the infamous tutorials with notepad, unregistered hypercam banner and Soundscapes music.

Gorillaz came out with a new album this year and while waiting for it I listened to some of their older albums, and while doing so I remembered that my first exposure to the band was when I was in 5th grade. Also the fictional band member Noodle effectively ages with me with each new album because her biography lists her birth year as 1990, the same year as me.

On some rare occasions I feel in the mood to watch a YouTube video I enjoyed years ago, and sometimes when I see the date of the upload or references to YouTube's older layouts (like when some videos attempt to break the fourth wall, such as grabbing the video title from the top of the screen rather than the bottom) I feel like "geez I swear it doesn't feel like it was that long ago that I discovered this video."

I just started playing Tomb Raider Legend on the PC and I actually think I prefer playing the game with the "next gen" graphics setting turned off because it reminds me of when I played the Gamecube version of the same game back in 2006.

Realizing that my Xbox 360 is over a decade old now and considered "last gen" but yet it doesn't feel like that long ago I was enjoying games like Dead Rising 1, GTA4, and BioShock 1 for the first time.

I think it's the fact that I'm the oldest I've ever been in my life. I can always say I'm old as hell, because compared to yesterday, I'm even older.

Plus, I think it's the fact that my first meme was Sparta Remixes when I was 12 (I was kinda an idiot I guess, but I keep saying "I was an idiot last year" every year) and I really didn't see an increasing exponential mortality of memes.

Like, one day a meme is popular and another day there's another to replace it.
(Except for JoJo, that has longevity and I like it.)

Doom: Played it since mid 2000's. Playing through it does give feelings of nostalgia, so much that ports like Z-Doom lack in a way (that and not having a CD that did have various Doom wads of varying quality).

I know the moment I get out the PS2 (it's an old model, not the slim ones) and play another game on it like King's Field: The Ancient City or Okage: Shadow King, I'm going to feel old. It was the console I got to own that I spent so much time on as a kid.

AdventureQuest: Remember playing this in the mid 2000's around 06 or 07 (the game apparently started in 2002). Having played it a few weeks ago, it reminds how much has changed such as redesigns for enemies and weapons.

Youtube is a big one for me after losing interest in Newgrounds. Looking back at old videos such as a Youtube ranter or an old meme video shows me how far it came since 2007. The website redesigns help add to that since so much gets changed from the page layout to the rating system.

People of the older generation starting to fade away. Your first piano teacher, your neighbor, your great grandfather, your grandmother… Just the people who used to always be around when you were a kid. They were always so young, so full of energy. Now they're dying, or becoming so old they can't take care of themselves. And as they disappear from your life, as they fade away, so does your childhood.

That's how I feel, anyway. Makes me realize that by the time I hit 30, many more may be gone. I never used to think about this stuff as a kid, so this makes me feel old.
