Tell me about your story why you like meme, where did you find this website, you first entry and something else.

I'm going tell my story later, if 5 or more people try to tell there story.

I found the website completely by accident. A friend linked me a picture from KYM that was posted on another forum. I noticed the URL and wondered what "Know Your Meme" was, so I checked. For days all I did was look at funny pictures before actually deciding to join.

I was lurking on /b/ a bit and someone mentioned KYM. At the time I've never heard of it, so I checked it out. I liked what I saw. I then noticed that the 'Challenge Accepted' meme only had like half of a sentence on it's entry page. So I pretty much devoted my first week to working on that meme, and adding pictures to it, while also lurking the forms.

Because I’m bored… >_>

I have no clue how i discovered KYM. I think its just one of those youtube things you come across after a while, and when you're bored you sign up for the website to check it out.

So according to my profile I signed up for the website on some lonely Christmas Eve, and I have no clue what the hell I was doing here on Christmas.

6-7 months later I submitted an entry that would get deadpooled. (i submitted it because there were a lot of snl entries and I thought it might be a good idea.

Then I started to lurk a little bit before deciding that I knew a lot of meme entries that weren’t being submitted/didn’t have enough information, so I submitted/edited entries like crazy and starting participating in the forums (posting 5-10 a day, a lot at the time coughRFcough).

Katie Starshine (Tenshi-chan at the time) noticed me probably because of my anime avatar/being on the forums and became my first? (or was it Brad?) follower.

Then I got a Kawashima Ami avatar, and later a Hinagiku avatar and made my avatar variations on Hinagiku for several months.

I joined irc, met more people, and eventually became a moderator woohoo

On a side note, a lot of the active users at the time are no longer here and its weird looking back at my posts 11 months ago -__o

I just randomly decided to Google "How Is Babby Formed" and then I ended up on this website. I saw all the Confirmed entries, but I realized that "Chicken Tetrazzini" wasn't there. So I signed up and added it. And to this day, "Chicken Tetrazzini" still remains the only entry that I created that is confirmed.

Well, I am very interested in memes, and I liked to go on Memebase alot. So, I searched for memes on google and on Youtube. And, when I searched for "Weegee" On Youtube, I came across the KYM video for it. So, for a while I enjoyed watching them with all of their memeyness. Then, I found that you guys had a website for it, so I decided to visit. It was really cool because memes like "My brain is full of f**k" And "Lenin Cat" I had just heard about were on the front page for me to study. So, without an account, I lurked for a while, and then finally decided to make an account. And then I discovered the Forums.

I actually had no idea what a meme was before coming to this site. I mean, I knew a few internet in-jokes, but I had no idea what memes were.

I got this account from my brother. He tends to get bored quickly and quits and gives me whatever accounts he was using on websites. This was his first entry. This was my first entry. Back then, I only used the internet to read blogs, so that's where I knew about a few memes. This was my first confirmed entry.

The community was very nice to me here, even before people realized that I wasn't my brother. It made me wonder why my brother left this site in the first place. I'll probably ask him when he comes down to visit next month.

I was introduced to KYM by Ashbrony (Ashbot at the time) and he was the one who told me to make an account. Lurked around for a bit and then made an account. Although back then I was Len Kagamine, because he is one of my favorite vocaloids. Then I wound up being one of the editors for the Catbread/Nekopan meme. And it wasn't until just a few weeks ago that it got confirmed. Ever since, I've been on the forums and chat.

Wanted to know about Rickroll.

I was looking for sad Keanu pics and came across KYM. I lurked for about a month before making a log in account. I knew what memes where but not that they where called memes before finding this site. I had seen them on cheezburger, collegehumor, etc., etc. plus I remember them from the early days of the internets back when you would have a thousand AOL disks for free internets.

I have no idea how I actually found the site, but apparently I did so about 10 months ago. No idea why.

I completely forgot I had an account, up until I saw a ton of people were complaining about (oddly enough) Dr Saltgun's My X Can't Be This Cute entry not being a meme and complaining that they hadn't seen a single instance of it. This annoyed me, so I began uploading several hundred examples of them, to prove to those fools their wrongness.

Eventually, I added an entry for I Like Short's! they're Comfy and Easy to Wear, but it was the success of my 50 Cent Driveby entry that inspired me to become more active as a member. I like to keep the activity page open a lot now, to see all the cool stuff being added as it is.

Also, this site totally made me become a Bronie. So, ya know. Thanks.

I found out about KYM while reading something about memes. I wanted to find out more about them, so I googled meme and this was one of sites that came up. After lurking around KYM for a bit, I decided to join. I post a once in a while, but mostly still lurk around the forums.

I got an account about 10 months ago, but I didn't start using the forums until about 3-4 months after that (The only two surviving members of that generation I think is Me and Derpy, but I'm not to sure). I mainly joined Know Your Meme because I wanted to upload pic's the the Abridged Series page of the website.

At some point in time I changed my profile from my real name to Natsuru so I could report a bug in the Site Related section, but then I started using the forums more often. My first real thread was "Let's throw together a half assed plan to take over the earth." Which was fun, but I don't really want to go back and read it because I was a total Newfag back then. n.n;;

Found it on youtube. Lurked for a few months. Made a account(This was about 2 years ago). First person I met was Kytosai. Made a derp entry. Over a year later it got confirmed… Oh! Also I pressured a friend into making a account on here.

Mah timeline.

I became really interesting in memes. I wanted to learn more about all the net memes. So i started searching certain types of memes all the time and came across this site. When i wanted to search for a meme i didnt know…i would just go here instead of google,ED,urban dictionary or whatever.I also like going on sites like memebase so i joined the Cheezburger site like 2 months ago i think. Then i notice this was part of the site even though i had to make a separate account. So i mad an account here. I been here for almost a month now. I like posting in the forums. Its fun. I also love learning about all kinds of different memes.

Can't remember exactly, but I've always been interested in memes, and I think I found it from someone or other linking to a meme on here to "explain" it. Or possibly random google search/youtube/ect.

Anyway, my first thought was "…a site entirely about memes? Now this I like."

Well, my IRL bros kept repeating these meme phrases, and I decided to google them. I ended up on know your meme. I basically only used it for a few good lols until I decided to upload a pic for Shut Down Everything.
Then I was inactive for around five months, then I became a brony, and suddenly I was on this site every day. Now I have two editorships.

oh, and this is probably a case of tl;dr

First I found the rocketboom KYM videos on youtube (started with weegee), but that was about a year ago. I didn't discover the website until a friend introduced me to it a couple of months ago. So I lurked images and some forums for a while, and signed up last month. Because of KYM, my brain is full of pony… and I like it!

Well for me, I i like animes since last year, my first me I met is vocaloids, I heard it on my friends's wall, i hear it and is beautiful! My ears feels good when i hear it, the song called "world is mine", then the second is some weird remix called "sparta remix" with miku hatsune this link and then the 3rd to many is that i found from greentea3 this video I found:

and then, I search "meme" i found know your meme youtube video but i forgot that I watch? Then I was go to that website. My first entry is "USO DA!"but I have stupid information then when I come back, is edited I didn't know it was sub-meme, the related meme is 2chan. Then I change my name into, "Dr Hax Anti-hacker" then soon when rule 63 is here at home page, I switch my username cuz, I found the picture, so I make DrPepperfan in opposite name, well the "fan" turn into "fun" lol so is my idea that name XD. Sorry about the bad english.

I was super obsessed with Technoviking at the time, and I was trying to learn his true identity. I found a link through Google to the article on KYM, and I'm pretty sure for about three days straight I just clicked through random articles until I decided to make an account. Then I created a couple entries the next two or three weeks after that. And apparently I did a good job, because Ogreenworld noticed my entries and said this in a thread about creating a lurking period: "But I think its unfair for new users to not be able to create new entries. There are users like DocOctagonapus that make me believe that newcomers are awesome." (Yes, my original username was DocOctagonapus.)

And now I am where I am today.

I was a huge fan of memes before KYM thanks to memebase. I had watched every episode on youtube but had never been on the site. Then a friend told me about the I throw my X up in the air sometimes meme, so i decided to make an entry on it. I had seen only a few entries and my website coding was basic but now thanks to the obsessive viewing and editing I have 1 confirmed and 3 front paged entries!

When I first came here, I came looking for episodes of KYM, when I was done with that I then went looking for memes and pictures, and I did not want to ever end.
Know I go here regularly.

I think we are the last two of that generation. The rest is either total newfag or the older generation.

I first saw the episodes months before I came here. I be came a /b/rony and then I heard that ponies was in the top 10 on KYM. I came here and after lurking for a day or two, I joined up. Got researcher status in three days too b/c I spent almost the three whole days on it.

Someone I know on Youtube gave me a link to the Yaranaika article. I also knew what memes were but never knew they were called memes, until I spent a week looking at all the entries. Then I noticed there were forums, and made an account to leave comments and such. Then I noticed the forums, and I started posting there ( That's right, no lurking, aren't I a typical newfag?). And a few days later everyone changed their names to Smugleaf.
Also, I have still not created a thread.

While I don't remember the exact pretenses around me finding this site, I've been a lurker for about a year now, and I've continuously followed the site in my quest to be more knowledgable about internet culture than my peers.

I came here by mistake when i looked up Painis Cupcake on Google, the best mistake i ever made.

Someone in gamefaqs posted an url to the fuck yea meme. I couldn't leave ever since.

I wanted to know where did the pedobear come from :D This page is so educational, me gusta!

I was very interested with the diffrenet memes (Trollface being the first I actually knew of and still my favorite to date) so I started reading about them in sites. At first I wanted to make my own stuff in Memegenerator, then I started checking The Art of Trolling and eventually I got here and since the community is much, much more developed than these other sites, I decided to stay.

I don't care. Just tell me you story, even is ugly, is still okay.

How I got to know about KYM:

AM went on youtube, say a KYM video, and decided check out this fine site under one god, and than check some horrible articles, everywhere, thankfully i was reading teh confirmms, so i screw of into thwe dead pool for giggles(i laugh hard i do backflip so blood comes out eye), than trol(lol i trol u!) the forum, and sorta adated into a meber shorts, and except i do post in forums, and I do post on IRS, but persons talk about no things.

My story is here.
My first message on the forum, 2 years ago (was it June or July 2009?). I received a warm welcome by Pterodactyl, Blah-tan and Chris Menning at that time.

I knew the site when "Weird Al" Yankovic appeared on the Auto-Tune episode, which he linked on his official site. Seeing how the video was filled with motivators and awesome faces in the background, I decided to check the youtube channel and found out about the origins of many of my favourite images. I've been a user on the site since then and usually contribute with many pictures.

I've recently made entries for many things I've witnessed, and it turns out one of them made the front page (Cupcakes)

I was on one of those boring Youtube stuff…then I bumped into the Rickroll meme. I found it interesting, so I watched every video you guys had thrice. Yes, THRICE. Rickroll, Fail, Creepypasta, and more, but I didn't sign up immediately. I thought it was some pretty nice Youtube channel, but I noticed KYM had a website. So I went on here, and looked at almost every meme available. It was so awesome, I decided to sign up. Now I use internet memes irl, and everyone thinks I'm weird and socially awesome. Thanks, KYM!

One day I was bored out of my bloody mind. So naturally, I was browsing youtube. After wading through acres of video game music, I came across this "Know Your Meme" show. It talked about all that internet phenomena that I was interested. I quickly watched all that I could find. When they I found that they had a website, I went immediately. I lurked there for awhile, before joining to submit my first meme entry (that I was shocked was not here). The convenience store song. After joining, I ended up helping find spambot and improper images. For awhile, I also vehemently denied being a furry. Well, we all know how THAT ended up, lol! I ended up being promoted to Image Mod. The rest is history.
