Embrace Jesus and put up statues of him and stuff. Then it would be flat out heresy to invade.

Prometheus is the closest thing that Byzantium has to an ally. They don't love you or anything, but y'all are on good relations with each other. They might change their minds soon, but if the barbarian invasions tear apart Rome before that, then you are safe. I'd suggest brokering friendlier relations to forestall any Byzantine expansion plans. Or you could be bold and invade them yourself. Its your call.

You should also note that historically, the Romans already owned pretty much all of your current empire by this time and were fighting the Parthians while they were still around. They definitely like you enough to have not done that.

Edit: Also, what witchking said. Constantine just made the empire into a Christian one, and they'd be hysterically happy if you converted as well.

The problem with conversion is that I'm in the Middle East, the birthplace of Islam, which starts to spread shortly after Justinian I's death (565) and a massive outbreak of bubonic plague in the Byzantine Empire (early 540s). I think I'll focus instead on trade relations with them. It worked for me the last time we did a NatRP like this, and it'll probably work again.

Forts vs hordes didn't work for you and you know it. Why the hell would you suggest that he-

Oh.
Okay I get it. Carry on then.

I would if I could, but you can't destroy an idea. Killing Mohammed would just make him into a martyr and destroying Mecca would probably give Madcat some more ammo for his "Prometheus is a monster that wants to do nothing but expand" argument.

Just send some assassins before he develops his ideals.

Move back. Ask for some help, because the Huns, thanks to me, have been smacked sideways, and they're moving on anyway.

Neither of them know who you are. The Byzantines, as I have already said, are soon going to be panicking and focusing on helping the West Romans keep the empire together, but I can't guarantee that they won't try before that happens. You might wanna convince Prometheus to request that they leave you be.

The Sassanids may very well invade you, since they have no relations to any human players, so you don't even have anything to try and negotiate alongside. Historically they did expand in your direction, so you should watch out. Again, I'd rely on Prometheus for defense if you must.

There's nothing to move back to though. I think I should just establish some trade relations with the neighboring countries and settle into the middle east.

THERE IS NO ROOM.

If you want to build up first, then that's a good plan.

I felt that Syndic deserved some karma for all the time he's put into this game so I upvoted each of the turn posts.

But unfortunately I DERPED at page 10 and hit the downvote button. Sorry! Anyone care to reverse that?

Not enough Room you say?

Also, must I point out the fact that Persia, Parthia, and now the Sassanids all occupied the same, unstable region of land that has never held together for more than a few turns? With Prometheus's help, Rossiya could corral this well developed and nicely populated region under RF's control. Or, you can move back to the burnt out shell of a homeland you left behind.

Either location you choose, the Mongol Horde cometh, and thou art completely fucked.

Well then, it seems I'll need Prometheus to defend me while I build up an army and a defensive force. When I want to expand, I'll just conquer some of the Sassanid Empire.

Can't do that, Star Fox.

The Sassanids are pretty powerful right now, even if they're a bit fractured. I would suggest starting small, with Media and Arran; that way you'll control the entire western edge of the Caspian Sea as well. You'll also share a border with your life partner Angmar. After that, you should move on to Persia, where there will no doubt be less resistance as time goes on.

Also, I suggest you get there before the Mongols rear their ugly head. There's about a thousand years until then, but history says they really fucked the Persians up the arse, and if you make them mad, they'll no doubt do the same.

Just my two cents on the matter.

If we let the Mongols happen, then they will take all of the Middle East up to Poland.

There will be NO survivors.

Maybe you guys should send a campaign east and wipe out Mongolia now while it is still just a bunch of desert nomads.

Also why do I get the feeling than Syndic simply does not want me to have Australia? This is the second time my landing attempts there got cut off by my own split-off culture

Witch King, you'll have to destroy Mongolia, because I'm trying to rebuild. Good luck, bro.

Sorry if you meant to invade Australia and it didn't happen. I either misinterpreted or looked over whatever you said. In either case, Sydney is getting close to forming a dual leadership with your nation and then being annexed. It would have happened like that sooner than this, but you don't have a royal family to intermarry with, so relations have been pretty stiff.

You have been playing without an opponent, which is, as you may have guessed……

against the rules.

Both me and Sydney attacked at the same time, I guess that is what confused you. I didn't even need Sydney's help by the look of it, I should have left them out >.<

Sydney was once Syserror, my goal is to make them part of my nation again, hopefully without destroying them. I want that economy in tact.

However I has hoping I could avoid making a kingdom, even though the Polynesian cultures did have them at this time in history. I wanted to stick with my "Council of the Blue Screen". Perhaps I could introduce a high aristocracy with large stake in politics that could pose as royalty. But the Council Head Honcho's still have the final say on any law and legislation

Now if you will excuse me I have Magwoli to convert…

All hail the almighty gods of the Great Software Crash!

The value of a royal family, especially during this time in history, is pretty high. I'd suggest getting one, even if it is just symbolic in nature. Princesses make wonderful bargaining chips when you use them against horny teenagers whom control vast swaths of land that you want to have.

That is one of the most hilarious forum posts I've read all day.

America, yes. But he's in Argentina. So long as he doesn't spread beyond those mountains and a little northward, he won't have to even make contact with the Incas, the Chimu, and whatever other indigenous kingdoms the fog is hiding.
