Not much has changed since then.
I remember that when I started, I posted a picture of a girl giving a blowjob to a dude in the comment section of an entry.
Opspe gave me a warning, he told me the girl was underage and the image was practically child pornography. Of course I didn't know and regretted posting it.
I still wonder why he didn't ban me right there.
I remember seeing a friend one day while she was on memebase and asking her "what's that?". When she told me I was like "What are these 'May-Mays'?" and she told me she couldn't be bothered to tell me so I should just come to this site and find out on my own. After a year lurking, I noticed that there wasn't an entry for a series of video parodies I found on YouTube, so I thought why not make an entry myself. And then this happened.

DAMN YOU EURO YOU BEAT ME TO IT
I used this place to basically save all the reaction images that were trending, until I finally caved in and signed up. I basically just said hi in the "Introduce Yourself" thread :P
Wanted a new forum from my old one, loved the photo galleries, joined up, started working in the house as a scullery maid, and just gradually worked up to washroom maid, and now, I'm in charge of the laundry room and The Great House, KYM.

I can't tell if this is a joke or super ironic.
Anyway, I came for the memes, stayed for the images, and use this place as my image dump site for a year so far. Other than that, I'm just your average, irrelevant faggot on the Internet.
I found out about the website around the time that MLP video from KYM was posted up on youtube. I've probably lurked around for years, but I finally decided to get an account.
I can’t tell if this is a joke or super ironic.
I don't know, man. I suck at making jokes.
I don't remember exactly, but I do remember I used to lurk a lot until one day I decided to join.

Before I went on to this site I watched the Know Your Meme videos on their YouTube page at around 2010-2011. I enjoyed them, but didn't feel like going on this site. Fast forward to 2013, I decided to check out one of their articles. What immediately caught me was the image gallery. It had almost all the images you'd find on Google Images if you searched ruined childhood plus more. And what also caught my eye was that a lot of those images moved. I normally saw meme images through Google Images and rarely clicked them, so when I saw some images move, it blew my mind. Plus you could post images/videos on comments, see people comment on those images, etc. Soon I noticed the users here are great to have a discussion with. It feels like a group of people hanging out and sharing their honest thoughts. But I realized that this is kind of serious. Meaning these are pretty smart people I saw, and I was still a teenager, so I waited a while until I was 18. Soon I made an account and I've been just commenting on images and posting images and some videos. It's been quite a ride. But one of the best rides I've experienced while browsing the internet.
It started back in 2013, when I was looking for more images of a meme (I don't remember which one was), then, I came across with more memes (Sparta Remix, Spirit Pokemon, etc.), until I decided to make an account on the 24th day of August of 2013, because I wanted to comment on the images, then I got hooked up, and decided to stay. Now I'm part of the Memedist church.
I came to join No Fap September as I had near unlimited temperance.
I stayed for the memes :3
Arround 2011, I used to lurk a spaniard rage comics page named Cuánto Cabrón (which was basically 9gag in spanish), and I couldn't get over those funny "meme" (yeah, people used to call meme only rage faces, me included…) comics. One day, I saw a comment on one of the sister pages (basically a FML version) talking about how the "memes" from CC weren't documented on a page called "KnowYourMeme" when even some old jokes like Za Warudo were there. Angry and upset about it, arround August that year I decided to join to the site and create an entry for one of CC's rage faces: Nothing to do here. The entry was shit and barely had spread outside the page, so it was instadeadpooled, but some months later it became a rising trend on reddit, so it was undeadpooled and frontpaged. This motivated me to keep working on entries, aaand here I am.
Remember kids, appreciate rage comics: almost everyone who is here started with them.
I have been lurking (no pun intended) since about last Spirit Week, vowing to make an account at the end of summer.
Why did I keep that promise
Minty asked me to look at some thread on some forum I had never heard of or cared much for. But I did anyways, then he asked me to come to irc under the name of Mom and say some stupid stuff and then I didn't touch the site for a month.
Accidently opened my profile and decided to see what was what and now I spend my time being a lesbo wolf-fucker and raising an army that only consists of about 4 people.
I just lurked the site for da memes
Then I made an account as I wanted to post comments and get involved with the community because it was pretty cool
Then everything changed when the Just-For-Fun Nation attacked
I first visited KYM ages ago, when I was googling memes around 2007-2009, but unfortunately I can't remember the exact year. Back then, I browsed through all entries, and read what I found interesting.
Then at the beginning of 2011, I started browsing KYM regularly, first looking for info about Stocking and Twilight Sparkle, since I often saw both of them on dA, and wondered what that was all about. At the time, I was watching PSWG, and thought the two looked so similar that they had to have a connection. That kinda led me to watching FiM, and then making my profile half a year later.
At first I kinda just hung around the FiM page, commenting here and there, and then moved to the forums during the mass exodus from the FiM page. After that, I mostly hanged around the first few pony general threads, until I got bored of the series, and moved elsewhere.
Nowdays I'm not as active as I used to be, if I could ever call me being active in the first place. I mostly just lurk and browse, but sometimes I go on posting sprees, reminding people that I actually exist.
I'onno, was drifting around the internet found this place and stalked it for a good while before making my account…
at first I had planned to just piss people off and stuff, but yea…
I discovered this site from some other forum (I think it was a link to the MLP article or something, I dunno). Anyways, this was back around maybe 2011 or 2012, but I only really started to lurk and frequent the site several months afterward. I frequented various image galleries and looked at comment sections, but I didn't bother to make an account until months ago. Now, I'm actually posting (though not that much).
I visited the site for years but never made an account until I wanted to comment about dolphins or something on an image.
Now my life will never be the same.
The only reason I made this account was to upload some dong expansions, but I later started lurking the forums, writing entries, etc.
I was linked to this site from a wiki two years ago and began looking at the entries. Then I looked at the comments and forums, decided to join. Participated in the forums a lot and edited/wrote some entries. Then I deactivated, and now here I am again a year or so later.
Observed this site for about 3 years. Didn't make account becuase I forgot my Cheezburger password and I misunderstood that this site use same account as Cheezburger's
After making account, I've commented in Charlie Hebdo Shootout entry as first comment
And then be a editor to find some cheeky information that another editor putted it in the entries
Survive in Riff-Raff and IRC becuase no one ship me
i observed for quite some time.
then i made a acct, acted like a retard for awhile, then got the hang of dank meming.
Mainly came to the site at first for humorous images in galleries like Tumblr and Twitter, but then I started to go around to various other galleries and found myself going "oh I need to save these, but I don't wanna clog up my hard drive" so I made an account to favorite images, and then also began to leave comments frequently.
I joined under the name "Aquamarine" because at the time I was more heavily involved in the Steven Universe fandom on Tumblr and that was my name on there, but nowadays I only use Tumblr for images searches, and once I got more serious about the game Skullgirls I knew right away I wanted to change my username to "the best catgirl ever" and did just that, and haven't felt the need to change names since unless it's for a joke (like on April Fools Day when I changed by icon to a fatty Ms Fortune and changed my username to "Ms Four Chins").
Since then I've gained a couple editorships, OP'd an article, and gained something of a reputation I admit I never thought I would have had on a site like this.
