What the hell is with the softly glowing purple/pink walls? Are they in a giant stomach or something?

The way I understand it, the only DLC that was readily available on release was purely cosmetic, so what's the big issue?

Consumer confidence, I guess. Gamers have been shafted by bullshit DLC and other bad business by publishers so much the past few years that the very sight of anything like this now is going to turn heads, regardless of its intention.
