How to IRC 4 dummies

Part 1 – Basics

1. Click the "Chat" button in the top right, next to the search bar. (Duh)

2. After reading the rules (which no one does, unfortunately), click the big red "Join the IRC" button

3. Pick a name (referred to as "nicks").

4. Fill in the captcha. (Thank God because it's not food captcha)

5. Click "Connect"

6. Proceed to gaze at the depths of hell in chat form.

Optional Step – Register your nick

Part 2 – Strategies for "fitting in"

• Spam in jokes and "ironically" shitpost by saying stuff like "nice meme XD" and vertical post

• Talk about music. All music is welcome! (Disclaimer: Any music that isn't Radiohead, Andrew Jackson Jihad, Death Grips, and generally anything rap with insult the "patrish" taste of most of the IRC and you will be shunned and called a "pleb")

• Talk about animu and manga with the IRC's resident weebs! (Loli, Liche, DPFyuri) !

• Discuss about vidya. Talk about Hearthstone with users Gnaryline and Madcat (alt. qtfurry).

• Share interesting videos and images. (Disclaimer: If it isn't from 4chan it will be ignored)

• Circlejerk Gossip Discuss the latest controversies surrounding other users.

• Discuss with others about how bad and gross furries are.

• Debate about Internet-Related things, like whether Monstergirls are furry or not or if Gamergate is stupid. Expect most "debates" to be more like a circlejerk,

Part 3 – Miscellaneous

• Be sure to type "!stats" and SkyeKattr0n's recorded stats of the IRC will appear.

• Occasionally a plug.dj for Knowyourmeme will be started. Once you make an account (if you don't have one), you can join and listen music with fellow users.

• Expect a lot of user ships. By a lot I mean many.

Part 4 – Begging for modship

• Greet to every mod and popular user that logs into IRC, no exceptions.

• Never miss a chance to express your superiority over other users.

• Express how funny the existing set of mods are, even if they're just acting like normal people.

• NEVER insult a mod's taste in music.*

• Remember that if you beg enough, you're guaranteed to become a mod. This means you should keep trying, even if you've been told you cannot become a moderator. KYM mod's love dedication!

*If you have ever done this, remember mods can open doors and navigate by smell. There is nothing more that can be done for you, and we here at KYM wish you the best of luck.

• Always act like a good boy to get modded, but never blatantly do it or ask to be a a mod. This is a sign of Satanism and the mods will banish you to the blacklist. In fact, don't even shows signs of wanting to be one or the mods will laugh at you forever.
