You really think that a couple of bugs are bad? I'd say that the worst excesses of Japanese popular culture and porn pale in comparison to the reality.
The recent history of Japan has been a tale of mutation and perversion, not that feudal Japan was a healthy society in any way. World war 2, occupation of China, rape of Nanking, unit 731… need I say more? Whereas countries like Germany have engaged in decades long self flagellation over their crimes, Japan (just like Poland and Hungary) has swept its guilt under the rug. There is no Japanese pacifism. The only thing that comes close is the regret that they lost the war! Japanese nursing homes are full of war criminals which were never punished. As for modern Japan, it has traded humanity for efficiency, and even that is failing. Needless to say, apart from technology, they have adopted absolutely nothing from the modern world. Their xenophobia is only a tip of the iceberg.
The Fukushima incident was Mother Nature trying to flush the toilet. Maybe next time!
