I guess a few of you know I like doing little animations, and then put them on Youtube. But, I'm considering making a quite long one, but I don't want to spend days making a 5 minute video, on paint. Does anyone have any suggestions on free software I could use, or any useful tips?

You'd be surprised. Even pencils can make animations.

He Draws Each Frame in paint then throws all of the images in a video editor.
I tried that once. I ran out of motivation after 2 frames

i use photos to build stories because i dont have the patience for animation.
Depends on the type of animation you want to do. For 3d/cgi stuff use blender for free or if you happen to have $1000 kicking around get Light Wave 10 and make movie quality stuff.
Mah blender stuff. (still learning lightwave though)
