There are of course the GTA:SA rumors about big foot and ufo's. Then the GTA4 ones about rat man. But those are more myth like.

Oh, Here's one.

There was a rumor about the Gamecube version of Animal Crossing…it was about a dog named "Brutus". Supposedly, he would be a blue dog of the grumpy personality variety, and evil to boot. He was said to "rid other villagers from the town, talk and send letters in binary, have a house that freezes your system when you enter it, and leave after one day has passed since moving in". Some versions of the rumor even say when you talk to him at night, he laughs maniacally and melts, corrupting your save data, while you could do nothing but watch.

Glad this one isn't true…well, actually, it was already obvious it was a hoax because he isn't in the coding. And this is only ONE of at least nine rumors involving this game! XD

And there is the whole "ratman" thing on GTA.

In Touhou 6 Embodiment of the Scarlet Devil, there was supose to be a 3rd playable character who was unfinished at the time it was released. Fan's rumor it to be a Nurse type girl.

Half Life 3 will be released on schedule. Right after Episode 3.

I heard that they were scrapping ep 3, and making HL3 instead. No differnece, 'cept a name change.

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned this yet:

Polybius. An urban legend says that a game called "polybius" that was playable in some arcades in some city in the state of Oregon was released, and then ridden all prove of existence of because it caused night terrors, seizures, and other terrible health effects, not to mention subliminal messages. This urban legend is so famous, someone actually made a freeware game made to resemble this rumor and is even NAMED after this "arcade game", and even warns that it may induce seizures. I'm pretty sure though that an urban legend is all it is, though…except for the freeware thing inspired by it, which actually was kind of a response to it. :/

Also, some say the Atari 2600 game E.T. (we have all heard of how terrible it was, I'm sure) was so bad that the cartridges that didn't sell were buried deep in a desert!
