Dear meme-fans,

have you ever edited or created your own internet meme? If this is the case, you are the one, I am looking for! :)

I'm currently doing a research project for my Master studies on internet memes (University of Applied Science, Kiel). Though this topic is a lot of fun, I need your help to give my academic findings a "meaty fundament"! ☺ If everything works out, my Master thesis will build on this survey (Whoop! Whoop!).
Basically, I’m trying to find out, what motivates people to not only share internet memes but also edit/create them, previously.

I edit memes for the fake titles on this site because I find it fun to earn them similar to earning video game achievements. I also do it for social influence over people who view the edits and because I enjoy researching entries on things such as Egoraptor or Bernie Sanders.

I think that the biggest motivation nowadays is to get noticed by the crowd, you hope to get internet fame by creating/sharing the New big hype.

Since I'm not that well-informed about how this forum works, I'm only hoping to push this thread by replying to it.

I reaaaaally need a few more answers for my llittle survey, which I've posted at the beginning of this thread. I'm a little desprerate, at the moment, because my professor is giving me a hard time if it stays at this small number of respondends.
