But yeah, I've been starting to see this phrase come up every now and then. Usually in instances where there's an obvious cliffhanger and a character's death isn't guaranteed, but it's just more amusing to assume so.
I think the first instance, or at least one that I've seen, is when Jasper from SU fell into that crack.
EDIT: I was wrong, the earliest known instance of this is… cringey. Sonic 06 in fact.
