On a serious creative note, what do you think it would take to make a internationally popular meme based website ?
lets begin with the website without the app as the site is responsive. With the massive amount of sites available, what would you do to be different and stand out ?

- Abuse loopholes in your policy to make articles about "trendy" things instead of "memes".
- Appear at the top of google search results for anything and everything.
- Use mass uploads of fanart and YouTube videos to give people a reason to come back.
- Involve my site and its community in any large internet culture events, including but not limited to Gamergate, American Elections, and Twitter Hashtag revolutions
KYM is already popular internationally, given how diverse the (active) community is. Our Alexa rank actually places it quite high for a site of its caliber, and it "stands out" simply by being the only notable site of its kind. Encyclopaedia Dramatica runs a different ship, /r/dankmemes and similar subreddits are more for quick sharing than anything else, and Funnyjunk, 9gag and those lot are more like a long memetic newsfeed than anything else. Imageboards like 4chan are often more associated with content creation than the "documentation" we run here. It's difficult to gauge how successful KYM is because nothing really does what we do. At least, not so shamelessly.
Now, I'm not sure what you meant by "lets begin with the website without the app as the site is responsive", but I'll assume it's some issue with the KYM mobile site. Long story short, the KYM admins are constantly reminded of this.
