Memes' Spread to KYM

I've noticed that for most entries the spread of a meme from one place to another is done chronologically, but no one includes the influence of KYM on the culture of the meme. The website exists to document but it also has the effect of spreading and mutating a meme as well. I feel like all sources of influence should be taken into account, not just the outside sources but also the internal ones. Why shouldn't we include this kind of information? Are we too directly related to the source material?

Note: This thread had a similar topic, but it was not in the same context. I'm asking why we do not record our effect on memes and meme culture in general, and not whether we affect it at all.

To use real life as an analogy, researchers do not reference their own paper when evaluating data, rather, they cite sources from other researchers' data. In a word, the citing of oneself is disingenuous. However, that is not to say KYM doesn't have some degree of success in sharing; one, because the internet is more and more becoming attracted to KYM, and two, that is simply what memes are meant to do: to be shared. Finally, when someone documents an entry, we usually look at who did it first, how it came to be. Most of the time, the meme is only shared here in preparation for researching the meme (because KYM is one short skip away from other image boards) and the influence of KYM is an afterthought, since when entries are documented here, we are already days and weeks behind. Rarely, if that, does KYM ever become the pioneer of a meme. In fact, nothing comes to mind for me.

The Pledge to Protect meme actually has an origin on KYM, but that's the only meme I can think of that does.
