I blame Sweetie Belle.

That usually seems to be the case around here, eh?

Also, i think this guy may or may not have contributed.

Keep in mind that he's presumably older than Celestia herself. Perhaps that's what a really old stallion head looks like?

I think it's his nose or snout that is pony-like but I think he looks more like a goat

Well, sorry, but I have to go to bed. School and all.

Night, everypony. Here's hoping for pony dreams… anything involving ponies minus Rule 34 stuff at all…

If it means what it probably does--"dragon horse" in Latin--it should be "Draconequus," "Draconequis" or some other variant. I've NEVER seen anypony spell it right.

I personally like draconequis

On the wiki it says "draconequis was how it was CC'd" and "dragonokis on the Hub's website."

Captions say "draconequis", Hub says "dragonokis".

It should be draconequus, meaning either "horse-dragon" or "dragon-horse" (the Romans heavily depended upon context in their language). The way Cheerilee pronounced was also incorrect. It should have been "dr-ah con eck kwoos." I do know what the hell I'm talking about. I've studied Latin for over 5 years.

I know about the pronunciation, but "draconiquis" would be a fine English pronunciation, which is why I'd be fine with that spelling.

Well "draconequis" is an exceptional pronunciation also if one was using Medieval Latin, in lieu of Classical Latin. It still doesn't mean I can't rage.

Lol, I know that feel brony.

Now here's the shameless monthly advertisement of the steam group Know Your Meme Brony Brotherhood.

This is the steam group generally for the bronies of Know Your Meme.

"Go for the gaming, stay for the chat" ~ Twisttie_Dude

We converse mainly ponies and memes, we often talk about a number of different subjects and aren't really limited on what to talk about. We primarily play Team Fortress 2 as it's a free game, as well as a team based game, which bronies are generally able to form a stable and efficient team. We also play a number of other game.

Every new pony in chat is sure to receive the best of welcomes, and the best of parties, with your host, Pinkamena Diane Pie, and your rocking DJ, DJ P0N-3/Vinyl Scratch.

WARNING: You should see Nurse Pony if any of the following conditions show up
Insomnia
Vomiting rainbows
The excessive urge to drink
Mental issues confounding one or more people/things

But under no circumstances should you ever quit using the KYMBB.

So I have a very basic theory of pony genetics, it does't completely work right now (it doesn't take into account the passing of chromosomes) and anypony really could think of it.
So…
There are two sets of chromosomes that are like human gender chromosomes; the first set is gender and the second set it the type of pony (pegasus, unicorn, or earth).

Gender is: matching chromosome pairs (XX or YY) produce females, which accounts for why there are more females than males, and opposite pairs (XY) are male.

Type is: XX is unicorn (or pegasus), YY is pegasus (or unicorn), and XY is earth.

The type of pony is the most unrefined because I am trying to go by the rules:

E+E=E
U+U=U or p or e
P+P=P or u or e
E+U=U or E or p
E+P=P or E or u
P+U=P or U or e
[U=unicorn; P=pegasus; E=earth; CAP=most likely; lower=less likely; _=least likely]

Dr. Raymond Stantz is back! I have excitement here.

@Connor the Brony
1. Your level of tl:dr doesn't even come close to mine. Get on my level, son. Werd.
2. Not to be too ticky-tacky, "sex" is probably what you're going for as opposed to gender. Sex usually refers to the chromosomal make-up. "Gender" is more along the lines of internalized and perceived identities and/or what gender roles one tends to subscribe to blah blah blah.

Your theory sounds interesting. I've always liked genetics, even though I never focused on that in college, grad school, or in my career.

But wouldn't two earth ponies (i.e., two ponies with "XY" chromosomes):

  • Have a 25% chance for a pegasus
    • One parent passes off her X and the other passes off his X
  • Have a 25% chance for a unicorn
    • One parent passes off her Y and the other passes off his Y
  • And have the best chance (50%) for another earth pony?
    • One parent could pass an X and the other a Y or one parent could pass a Y and the other an X?

And then with two unicorns, given that they'd only have X chromosomes (or Y,) could only pass off X (or Y) chromosomes, leading to only unicorn offspring. According to what I know of Punnet squares.

So wouldn't it be like:

  • E+E=.5E and .25p and .25u*
  • U+U=1U
  • P+P=1P
  • E+U=.5E and .5U
  • E+P=.5E and .5P
  • P+U=.5E and .25u and .25p?

(also take into account we know Twilight's parents are both unicorns, meaning that any theory should be able to make sense of that. Both of these do, so that no problem.)

Yeah, I didn't think it was going to last that long, as I said on your wall, personally I wouldn't be to surprised if I was bi-polar to be honest.

That being said, I don't know anything about genetics, so I'll let you and Connor talk about that.
