Topic 2:
I think maybe a series of gears. It indicates serving a purpose greater than myself, cooperation with others, and use of intricate devices. It relates to my hobbies in that I've always had a strong interest in time, and also that the hobby I would choose, had I the finances for it, would be to create clockwork devices, such as rudimentary binary computers that take physical information and return sound as the output (In other words, music boxes. Because that's what they are, you know.) I'd love to one day get the opportunity to replicate an Antikythera. In fact, going even further, I'm a programmer, and what is a complicated series of gears but a program made into a physical form rather than words? Look at me going way too far in depth!

On the haters, I can't say that I understand either. Of course, I'm sure that the people who are well and truly hostile are but a vocal minority among those who dislike the show.

Oh man, that makes me think, why hasn't anyone done a Doctor Whooves version of one of the old Who title sequences? Doing it Pertwee style with a full body shot (As opposed to the just his face policy of later Doctors) would be really cool I think. I'd do it myself, but I'm not really experienced in video stuff.

… I think the sad part of all of this is that someone already left instructions as to how to post YouTube videos in the thread, and I still can't get it to work.

The vid worked for me (except for the fact that some asshat at WMG thought it would be a great idea to block the video to Brits). I found that after embedding a video and posting the comment, the video doesn't show up until after you refresh the page.

This thread needs moar DJ PON-3. Some Skrillex wouldn't hurt either.

Most of us know that Stephen Colbert gave the brony community a shoutout. With this said I purpose we start a brony paypal or something and see if can make enough money to make Stephen sing a song from MLP. I say we set the minimum of amount to join this would be 50 bronies. The amount donated can start off at $1 to $15 max. If you agree with this idea, please click on the + and reply. Let see if we can get friendship to spread even farther.

On a scale from 1 (least supportive) to 9 (most supportive) with 5 being neutral, I'm probably between a 2 and a 3 on this idea. If the main intent was to go to a specific cause like a charity and Colbert previously agreed to sing at a certain dollar amount or at a certain point of participation, I'd be at about a 6.5. However, it just seems like the effort is to garner publicity for the mere existence of Brony community, and not so much the show itself or at least showing that we are really good people.

Even if it was supporting the show or charity, I wouldn't be really high on the idea. Haters gonna hate, true. But I don't want to needlessly provoke any neighsayers (on the Internet) or somewhat narrow-minded people (outside of the Internet community,) either, with what would be perceived as a publicity stunt.

Or more simply, it would seem like we're forcing pony to people. The show is a ton of fun, Bronies are decent people, and the meme/subculture is still spreading. I think it's unnecessary, and I think something like this causes more harm than good.

Could it be a more discreet charity idea? Like Bronies for Good? I think I remember seeing something like that on EqD. Sorry for the lack of support. I'm just not sure if it's a good idea. I guess we'll see what e'rybody else thinks though.

I'm unsure amount donating money to this. If we were sending money to a charity, at least we'd know that it was doing some good in the world, but donating to a PAC means our money could just be wasted trying to promote somebody else's political agenda. We can't even be certain that Colbert would respond. On the other hand, I'd love to see Colbert singing a song from the show, so if I had some sort of promise that it would work I'd definitely donate.
To use Verbose's scale, right now I'm a 3, but after some sort of promise I'd give it a 7 or an 8.

I've posted this to some bronies on facebook and to say I got turned down would be an understatement. I know it sounds like a scam and I can see how this could be forcing MLP onto other people. Not intended to do that. Maybe this was just a bad idea or just needs to go in a new direction. But I like the idea that the brony community is caring and giving community even though some among us have a few kinks in our system, (me included). But a charity drive for anything seems like a better idea. What do you guys think?

Sorry to hear about the whole Facebook rejection thing. I don't know why anyone would see it as a scam. Of all online communities, I'd imagine bronies would be one of the least likely to try cheating people out of their money.
I'm all for the idea of a charity drive though. If word could spread through the major brony sites, I think it could be really successful. Our best chance would be to try and get someone high up in the community to take notice (like Sethisto of EqD for example). It's not the sort of thing that we could pull off without some decent planning though, so it'll take some more thought before we go through with anything.

It never crossed my mind as a scam, either. That's a bit strange.
But I'm down for a good prank…er, um, charity effort. If you'd like to go through with something, I'd take Algernon's advice, and find someone most bronies recognize or someone that reaches a large amount of bronies…which is, probably first and foremost, Sethisto. With some altering of the plan, you should have a good bit of success. Let us know how it goes/if you need help. I don't know what I'd be able to do, but I really do want to show some support. It may be a little bit of a waste to let all of the goodwill of the community just stay confined to bronydom.

If that were the case, people may actually explode and then explode again come Season 2. We might need to get some of this out of us before then.

I have been looking at every single page of photoes in the MLP image bank. It's taken over nine hours, and I'm currently on page 763. I will post when I'm done.

Also, the number of image pages is about to hit one thousand. That's twelve-thousand images, and about a third are reposts. Maybe we should cut down, just a bit.

The main image posters are not really active on the forums, so your post might not reach its target audience. But still, this has been discussed before, and the conclusion was that it mainly resolved around a few people.

James said the new system would cut down the images, but it still has some flaws. We were discussing to lock the images for a few days to find all the reposts, but that conversation died a bit. The images were locked for a while, but that was for different reasons. Maybe you can restart it, just a tip.

I think locking and organizing would be a great idea. We really need it.

Did ya miss my today? Really slow here, not even on a new page yet. Wish i could have been here to keep the forum and the comment section…more active and fun. I decided to take a day away from the ponynet, it was really boring but i actually accomplished stuff.
Just thought I needed to say where i was all day. It is almost 1:00 A.M. where i am so i'm gonna sleep.

…….and DONE. That was insane. Confounded ponies have driven me to obsession.

Anyway, we've reached the thousandth page of images! Thanks to everypony for making it happen!

Now we just need to hit 1000 pages worth of videos I probably shouldn't have said that!

Personally, I don't have a problem with the rate at which new content is being added. If anything it's a boost to the site, since I've heard from a lot of people in the KYM community that they were drawn here by the daily uploads. Increased site traffic can only be beneficial.
The reposted images are still a major problem though, and I'd be happy to see the images locked for a day so we can remove duplicates. What we really need is a 'report duplicate' button, or for somebody trustworthy in the community to be granted power to delete images.

That is the entire point. This is to train your pic searching skills. You can interpret the topic however you want, for example, it can be a pic of two ponies in a vocal battle, not a physical battle. If you think and search hard enough you can find some really awesome pics.
