There is strong rumor, so one can only hope. Personally I would like to see more episodes like Over a Barrel where the episode isn't focused in the Ponyville/Everfree region. It would be cool for a Fillydelphia episode, cuz it was mentioned.

Trixie vs. Twilight magic duel would be cool, and I would like to see another Spike-Centric episode where he isn't all jealous.

Easy. I do like Trixie, but Twilight would win, hooves down.

How about an episode being centered in some type of coastal setting? Last time I checked, Ponyville isn't what you would call a "beach city."

Do want!

That could be pretty amusing.

Got one. On the east coast, there is a coastal city commonly frequented by tourists that is called the Outer Banks. Just call the coastal city the Outer Flanks for MLP.

Ugh, sweet jesus this is depressing. Whatever sincerity and casualness was in this KYM community has been pretty much sucked out, it feels like we have to force discussion.

We're not going to get anywhere unless we talk about this crap like reasonable adults.

I'd like to point out that you're still allowed to post images. If you want to share something, you're free to do so. Conversation doesn't need to die. Just go easy on the image wars. Oh and if someone asks for an image dump (wallpapers for example), just place everything in links so the page won't get crowded.

Epic Twilight is Epic.

I read (well, looked at, there's not really any text) a great comic the other day. By now, most of you have probably seen it, but I would like those who haven't to do so.
Being a comic, it's huge, so I'll just link it here

Ashki wrote:

Please do, cause I will not hestitate ro use the main page for discussion again should the images get out of hand.

Don't worry. Like I said, don't overdo it. Sharing something is ok, but image wars are a different story. I'll try to hold back as well.

I wonder how effective our little move is going to be. Would the people who have moved over here be enough to keep the comments at an acceptable level?

Also, as a side note, I really hate these forums. Not being able to post until you get to the last page is extremely annoying, as is not being able to reformat the display order to go most recent first. The latter would make it a lot less cumbersome to jump in after being away for a while.

Also, I want to see how they handle the "French haut couture" and "Dutch apple pie" lines from Suited for Success. Is there a pony France and pony Netherlands? Or do those words mean something else?

I agree completely. These aren't very good forums.

As for the next part, it was most likely an off-handed comment. It was probably a writer slip-up, such as how Twilight's said "everyone" before

Well they only say "everypony" when they would be saying "everyBODY" they can still say "everyone", and the few times they say "everybody" it could be justified by the fact that not everyone involved was a pony, like in Over a Barrel when she was talking about both ponies and buffalo.

As far as I know, "everyone" has never been said except for this. The use of "everybody" was justified in Over a Barrel, but this was just a slip up.

right, that's what I had always thought. Also, I never understood "everypony." Everybody literally means every-body – and could refer to basically any life form. Now, if the word we used was "everyperson" or "everyhuman" or something like that, then it would make more sense.

It is cute though.

No, I've heard them say "everyone" a few times in the series. I'm pretty sure the Mayor said it at least once in Winter Wrap-up

I always thought this. We don't say "everyhuman", so it doesn't really work.

Yeah, can't entirely say I care for that either. I might have something to post and the forum's all you have to be on the last page trollface and I'm all okayface

Guess I'll learn to live with it.

It's just one of those old terms you probably aren't supposed to look too deep into. :P

Can't look to deep? But it's PONIES. How do you NOT look deeply into it?
Darn, now I guess I have to write that thesis on something else.

I just randomly thought of this:
What about Owlowiscious? Do you think he'll make an appearance again? He was nowhere to be seen in Party of One and The Best Night Ever….

feel like I need to post this again.

Possible forum rules:
1: max of one pic per post.
2: don’t dedicate pages to something.
3: keep calm and don’t start shitstorms/flamewars on the thread.\
4: post relevant stuff, I don’t want to see a page with all sorts of retarded shit on it (we are not 4chan, we can keep a conversation on track)
5: ???
6: profit

Feel free to make suggestions for different rules.

I think he'll make the odd appearance, but nothing too big. His episode hasn't been all that popular, and he really only needs to appear when Twilight is studying at night. Also, he only ever says "who" which limits what you can do with him. Look at how often Angel appears, and you'll see what I expect for the owl.

Maybe. Such is the life of a background owl sadly.

Well his absence after the episode he premiered in is more excusable then Winona. What ever happened to her? She was in like the 4th episode and then she vanished for the whole season.

I'll bet it's got something to do with the writing process, they aren't done in order so any character conceived near the end of the development period won't show up in any episodes made before it. They'll all probably show up in season two though.

This is pretty much what I was thinking.

Also, if you consider that the episodes are written by several different people, it makes sense. If the writer who made Winona only does one other episode and that episode never includes her, then who else will?

I do wonder about the writers sometimes. They introduce characters, or in the case of pets as you mentioned and then we never see them again for the rest of Season 1.

The thing about the characters: they're all archetypes. Twilight is the bookworm, Dash is the tomboy, and so on. We can't forget, this is a show for little girls, and we're just a periphery demographic. That being said, I don't expect much character development. Maybe there'll be a small story arc, like with the Gala, but I think it'll stay on straight episodes for now, with attached lessons.

I sense vaguely trollish undertones in your words, mostly because anyone who's actually seen the show would know how much character development they actually pull off despite the stereotypes the characters appear to adhere to.

Gigatoast wrote:

I hope not, I'd much prefer it if they just continued to play on the "Scootaloo is basically Rainbow's stalker" gag.

I can agree with this. I also can't really see a pet that would fit RD. Maybe a hawk, but we have Gilda for that.

Let's combine ideas:

Maybe, but these are just fictional characters who exist in a reality created by us. Their actions are dictated by a small group of people who are basically gods to that universe. Nothing in the MLP world is real. Then who cares?

On second thought NEW DOCTOR WHO ON SATURDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And now for something completely different:

You could say that about television in general. Very rarely does a show go beyond such superficiality. It's why I watch so little television. If you want complex plots and characters, I suggest reading a book – if only to make Twi happy.

Trollish?

Buddy, I've seen every episode, and I'll stick to my opinion. Besides, why would I troll? We're bronies!

I was joking (somewhat).

I prefer Rainbow Dash not having a pet myself, something about the idea just doesn't quite work.

Oh Celestia, now I have to double post.

I'm not saying less complexity is bad, I think the show is fantastic the way it is! I don't want them to change a thing.

Woah, it looks like Calpain was one of the winners of Faust's sketch auction. I think he may be Batman.
