There are no brakes on the Akame hype train. Don't even attempt to say you are looking forward to free as much as we are looking forward to Akame. That's virtually impossible.

You underestimate me, my love for Makoto is the the only thing that has ever rivaled my love for Bertholdt. My hype for Free! is an unstoppable force, a force which is definitely above you and your pitiful little series

Is that so? Do you have a free! Cellphone case and fabric wall scroll in anticipation for that faggy series of yours? No, you don't. I've been talking about Akame for a while now. Lets be real, y'all niggas didnt even care about it until I spread my love for it all over here. Don't even try to get on my level bro. That ain't gonna happen.

Also, Braht>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Bertholdt
Esdese>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Fagkoto aka Makoto

The only reason I didn't talk about it here is because I know the two of you are so obsessed with ogling disproportionate little girls that you wouldn't give what is objectively the better show the time of day, there's no point for me to try and stop what is essentially the circlejerk of shitty taste.

I know the two of you are so obsessed with ogling disproportionate little girls

All of the girls in Akame are in there late teens and twenties. Try again phaggot.

Keep watching your crap, the real men will be watching Akame.

you remind me of my sister, you know? like "waaah, free 2 omg best anime 2014" or "if you miss that makoto preorder i'll murder you". i just hope there will be no heavy padding with bad characters…

hehe, esdese, i thought you wrote some weeaboo transcription of AC/DC

In a year where Psycho-Pass is getting a second season, Free has no hope of being best anime, as fantastic as it is

Also:
>Bad characters
Don't even imply that that's a possibility

So I know that I'm going to watch every summer anime, but I'm still unsure if I'm going to watch season 2s of things I haven't seen the first season of (which is like everything but Free!). I watched the 2nd of season of Chuunibyo without seeing the first so you can bet I was so confused the entire time. I just figured out halfway through that I was supposed to be confused and everything was kay. Then again I generally like being confused at times so there's that…

So the 2014 Summer list looks great. I'll list what I'm planning to watch.

  • Barakamon
  • Rail Wars!
  • Jinsei
  • GLASSIP
  • Sword Art Online II

The only real one I'm excited for is GLASSIP. I generally watch Slice of Life animes, but sometimes I watch others. Yes, SAO is on the list. Why you ask? The anime is not complete shit. I want to give it a chance, maybe it'll turn out well. As for the other three, not too excited, just caught my eye and interest.

This means you will have to watch DRAMAtical Murder. Good luck with that.

But does that mean you haven't watched Space Dandy yet? You should probably remedy that soon anyway. Hamatora isn't very good either, very boring and bland

Rail Wars was the stupidest thing trying to pass itself off as an action show. It's the kind of show that would be 100% better if it passed itself off as sarcastic about it's subject matter. It's pretty paint-by-numbers too, which I don't want from my train shows. Plus the fanservice is unnecessary, there should be more trainservice than fanservice. I'll give it a few more episodes

Glasslip was bland, kinda a bit boring. I also kind don't get what's happening in it, which shouldn't be the case in a show like this. I have faith in P.A. Works though, so it should get better. Love the ED though.

Tokyo Ghoul is the only new thing to really grab my attention, I'm very interested as to where it goes.

^
This is probably the reason for the unnecessary fanservice.

I still have to wait a week to watch. Maybe I won't watch Rail Wars, fanservice usually turns me off. I little disappointed to hear about glasslip. But P.A. Works other animes turn out great. The beginnings are slow, but it brings in the characters and setting at least.

Well, the manga is awes…oh right, you don't read manga.

The only thing I dislike is the censoring, I guess I will have to wait for the Blu-Ray version.

Tokyo Ghoul and Akame will be the best ones of this season, remember my words.

@Loli,
Yes, and that's something I'll stick to. It takes something super special to get me to read the manga. Personal tastes. And Tokyo Ghoul is a contender for the best this season, but I still stand that Free is the most enjoyable so far. I reserve judgement for Akame until after I see it.

@Gary
The fanservice in Rail Wars is super unfunny. The only thing that could make the jokes worse is if they did the overtired "character with a flat chest that everyone makes fun of" joke, but they don't. They get around that by giving everyone jiggle physics.

And I'd still give Glasslip a check, you may disagree. Opinion on it's been pretty split, but I think the direction they're going in may improve it

@Dac

I should've caught on about the fanservice when I saw the Light Novel Cover

Final note on Rail Wars: The ED really just sums up Rail Wars in a nutshell

I really need to keep up with my anime because I can never really join in on a conversation here. Hell, the only anime from the Spring 2014 lineup I've finished is Black Bullet.

So far for Summer 2014 I've only seen the first episode of Free! (which I genuinely enjoy despite my distaste of bishonen anime); on my to-watch list I have Aldnoah.Zero, Zankyou no Terror, Sword Art Online (which I'm so hyped for; I think I'm one of the only people who really liked SAO--including the second arc). I know there are others but I can't think of them.

As for last season I need to finish Mekakucity Actors, Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei, and Soul Eater NOT!

Anyone have any other recommendations? I'm getting my own computer soon, which will mean anime all day every day.

>I need to finish Mahouka

I'm not going to rant again, I'm not going to rant again, I'm not going to rant again, I'm not going to rant again, I'm not going to rant again, I'm not going to rant again, I'm not going to rant again.

Whew, now that I've calmed down-

@loli
No doubt about it, Akame and also tokyo goul both look like the best this season has to offer. I think that Akame will be the best though. Himegoto looks like it will be the best bad show of the season. Can't fucking wait!

@Random21

Real men read manga…..

I know everyone's talking about the new shows from the summer season, but can well take a moment to recognize that Ninja Slayer is most likely going to be fun as all hell?

FUCK YEAH!

In terms of shows from the new season I intend to watch, I've added Aldnoah Zero, Tokyo Ghoul, and Zankyou no Terror to my Plan to Watch list, and I'll probably end up watching Akame as well. Also, I've finally gotten around to watching Log Horizon, and I must say, it's pretty entertaining. It really nails the whole "trapped in a game" scenario and I like how strategy and planning are a big part of how the battles in the show play out.

Oh, almost forgot Delta, if you want some good recommendation, then THE WORLD IS STILL BEAUTIFUL AND KAWAI COMPLEX

And can't we pleaaaase just drop the manga thing now? If I genuinely adore Akame, then I'll read the manga, simple. There are more elements to anime that I find makes them more enjoyable than manga. I've never been a big comic fan, so the same goes for manga. I do like regular books though, but sadly they generally aren't translated.(and especially localised, and I prefer to actually read books rather than e-books. The only one I've read so far is Spice and Wolf)

@CrouchingSloth

I totally agree on Log Horizon. I love the show, even though I generally dislike the whole trapped in a video game thing, I think part of the reason is because it actually feels like a video game, and not just some random fantasy world passed off as a video game. The use of Video Game mechanics is really cool (I especially love their representation of NPCs). Oh, and because they abandoned the stupid "dying in a video game means dying in real life" bullshit. That device is so overused I don't even care anymore

Manga manga manga manga manga manga manga manga manga manga manga manga manga

@crouching sloth

That looks tight, but I'm actually looking forward more to Trigger's other upcoming anime, Inō-Battle wa Nichijō-kei no Naka de. I really love the idea of a group of teens getting superpowers, thinking it will change everything and throw them into epic battles, only to find out that nothing really changes.

Okay I come back and see some people are a tad upset.

1) I'm "meh" about Soul Eater NOT and have only watched two episodes but Soul Eater is arguably my favorite anime series of all time, so I'm giving it as many chances as I can muster

2) I've only seen 3 eps of Mahouka. Is it going to be a bad ride? I've always enjoyed the idea of scientific analysis of magic so this one caught my curiosity.

3) DAC. I WILL WATCH AKAME. DON'T WORRY.

Btw finally getting around to watching Madoka. I figure I should watch as soon as I can before I get any more spoilers.

Reading about Akame ga Kill, the voice actor of Akame and the opening singer is the same voice actor of Kaori Fujimiya in One Week Friends. Yes, I'm convinced to watch Akame ga Kill.

My favorite pastime is to tell my friend about completely different characters that share the same voice actors. It can be really funny to see a voice actor voice two characters with completely different personalities. My favorite is that Eren and Levi in AoT share the same voice actors as Yukine and Yato from Noragami.

@Delta

Soul Eater NOT is great if you enjoy the same joke about Meme being big breasted being done again and again and again and again and again and you also like the joke about how Tsugumi has a flat chest being done again and again and again and again and again.

And if you enjoyed the first three episodes of Mahouka, you'll like the rest. It's been my beserk button from the start

@Dac
I've decided, I'll make you a deal. If you watch the shows Tsuritama and Durarara, then I promise to read Akame Ga Kill, and maybe another manga of your choice considering I am asking two shows of you.

I've just thought it up because while I was going back to check everyone's recommendations for shows I should check out, I realized: "No one watches the shit I recommend them!". This way I can get people to watch the shows I like by checking out the stuff they like, it's a fair delal

^
Not true, I watched Still the world is beautiful, some of Humanity has declined, and have Kawaii complex on my queue. Anyways, don't read it if you don't want to. The whole thing about "real men read manga" was just me messing with you a bit. I mean, I really don't get why you don't like manga, but I respect that.

Oh I know you were joking, and I was kinda joking about the no one watches the stuff I recommend thing too (Although those three shows are so good, I think you'll like Kawai Complex, and Humanity Has Declined only gets better. I'm curious as to what you thought of TWiSB as a whole), but I'm serious about this idea. I am still serious about the offer though, I honestly don't mind reading it if you'd watch those two shows as well, like I said, I have read a couple, but It's generally because I love their shows so much to a degree where I'll read the manga. Plus I'm super bored between new releases so I need an occupier.

Until Akame ga Kiru comes out, I'm gonna lay off the depressing shows, and start watching some violent horror shows instead. I think they are highly entertaining rather than sad, especially the death scenes. I've seen Higurashi and Another so far. Anyways, I think you all know what I'm going to ask you guys for.

By the way, anyone know where I can download a copy of Corpse Party for the PC? I'm not good with emulators.

@J4CKIXI455
Well Tokyo Ghoul has just started out this season, so there's a start. Pupa's another one, but ehhhh.

Also, when I first watched Another I cringed so hard at all the death scenes, then when I watched it I laughed at all of them (in particular the teacher one). I am a changed man

You could also watch Genocyber No don't do that bad idea

I just finished the first episode of Aldnoah.Zero, and I am pretty hyped to see more of it. Looks like good action will be in the future, and the soundtrack is the awesome. So far the characters don't seem to have much to them, but I'm definitely giving this one a shot.

So today's anime:
Aldnoah.Zero – looks really promising, I can't wait to see where they go with it, looks like it will be an enjoyable show. It had a pretty good atmosphere, and was pretty interesting.

Sailor Moon Crystal – I really super enjoyed it, it was so good. Coming from someone who didn't really enjoy the original, I felt this one was set up a lot better, plus it looks amazing (except the transformation sequence is in horrifying CG). II just wish it wasn't biweekly.

Shounen Hollywood – I DON'T KNOW WHAT I EXPECTED. The character models are butt-ugly too not the kind of style something obviously manservice should go for. Pass.

And since I'm not watching SAO, that's it for tomorrow (since Space Dandy airs too late for me to watch today). And Akame ga Kill better be MINDBLOWING or else

You dare to doubt Akame? Fak u fag. I'll reck you m8.

Ok, so is crunchyroll gonna stream Akame? According to this article, they are supposed to, but I have't seen anything else.
Link

Well ANN are hardly ever wrong, and I assume that the only reason Crunchy hasn't added it to their site is because they announced it at their panel at AX and just haven't got around to it. Plus it's not a Funi show, so Crunchyroll would pick it up.

Also just letting you know my offer about the Akame manga still stands. If I have to spell it out, my real motivations are getting you to watch Tsuritama and Durarara. That's all I wish for.

EDIT: Here's Crunchyroll announcing it on their site

All Dandy's considered, though, "our" Space Dandy achieved Nirvana in the future, therefore, I consider him to be the best and most legitimate of all the Dandy's. And that is my final Dandy.
