How long does it take something to be posted to failbook after it has been sent in for submission? Also how does it getting posted work? Like does it have to reach a certain amount of votes or what? So far mine has 189 votes up and only 8 votes down so I'd imagine that's pretty good.

That seems like a Cheezburger question. This forum is specifically for Know Your Meme. While we're under the same umbrella, I don't think the staff is involved with the goings on of Failbook (I know moderation isn't.)
Perhaps this can help. Found this on the contact information. Looks like a neat knowledge base.
How do I get my content on the home page of a site?
After you create and submit a piece of content, it does not show up on the front page or the vote page of a site immediately. It is sent to our team of moderators to make sure the content follows our Community Guidelines. Depending on the volume of submissions, the time it spends awaiting moderation will vary.
The best way to get your content on the vote page of a site is to share it with your friends on Cheezburger and other social media sites, such as Facebook and Twitter. The best initial feedback comes from your friends and they will help you determine what kind of attention your content receives.
Even if your content is selected for the vote page, this does not guarantee that it will be featured on the home page. Selection for the home page is primarily based on the number of votes and favorites your content has received from your profile page, but sometimes content can be placed on the home page without appearing on the vote page.
If your content makes it to the home page, we’ll send you an email letting you know it is being featured (given you provided your email address when you submitted).
Doesn't seem to give a timeline, but if Failbook's moderation is as busy (AHAHAHAHA!!!) as ours, then it could take some time. I'm sure they have a lot of submissions.
(Actually, we are pretty busy over here too. I kid.)
Does that answer your question? I'm not sure if I can help out too much other than that though.
Question answered, pertains to sites other than KYM. Locking.
