Mobile device auto-redirect ad alert!

There is an ad that will automatically load and redirect the user on the iOS mobile platform (Not sure if Android is affected as well). We would suggest using an ad-blocker at this time.

This issue isn't even new, by the way. It existed since the beginning of the year.

Also, to KYM/Cheezburger staff: Have you considered putting up a mobile-friendly version of KYM?

Android has the problem as well, but instead of opening up the app store the site just gives random pop ups with standard messages like "Your system might be infected, free scan!" and "This app you own has a new update, download it here instead of through the app".

Some however still open external websites even without clicking on them or clicking cancel after.

I can verify this even happens on windows phone. It tries to redirect to an iTunes link, but ends up opening the window app store. I've switched back to Android recently though and haven't seen this problem for some reason. I'll report back if I do.

Happens on my iPad quite a bit. Normally it's been on an entry or on my own profile, but it redirects me to some game on the App Store. Other times there's a banner at the bottom of the screen that I can close, only to have it reappear as soon as I load a new page.

I've experienced this issue a shitload amount of times myself on my iPhone.

A KYM app would be nice, what are the chances of that ever coming into work?

I can verify that the problem does not just exist on KYM- it's happened to me on at least a half a dozen different places. Obviously, it comes from some type of ad. Not sure to what degree Cheezburger can control what gets into their sites, but I hope they check it out.
