I keep running into this image in the sidebar all over the site:

It's not an ad, it's a still image, and it technically has no reason to be there. Anybody know what's going on here?

It it a virus? Virus can screw with your browser sometimes.

Doesn't seem to be. I just ran my antivirus software and nothing popped up.

This is the first time I'm hearing of this, so chances are the problem is on your side.

I've also seen a couple of other spam images pop up (one with a shirtless edgy dude with an "EXTREME" tattoo on his chest), but nothing horrible has shown up (porn, shock sites, viruses, etc.), so I'm not too worried. I just want to know why it's happening in the first place.

I should also note that this is the only website on the entire internet where I've run into this, so I have reason to believe it's something related to the site itself rather than a virus.

Now I seriously want to buy addspace on this site and fill it with only this picture, just to mess with people.

Can you actually do that?! If so I'm buying ad-space next to the freeway for maximum trolling!

No really, I want to see how other people would react to seeing this pop up everywhere.

EDIT: I just discovered that it has something to do with the auto-playing videos. Carrot Top showed up as a thumbnail there. I didn't get the time to screencap it, though.

Well Kung Fu Cthulhu I'm not really an expert on this sort of thing but it seems like since no one else is getting it it's on your end alone. Maybe this is a product of multiple visits to the site that malware is targeting it specifically because you visit this site so much.

The alternative is that these ARE ads, but due to the nature of them, they probably aren't appearing as often as other ads. (A website that makes money will pay for lots of views/clicks, while pranks and other stuff like this don't have the same budget and will pay for way less views/clicks). I guess since you visit the site so often you are one of the lucky few to see these ads.

Either way, the only solution I can think of is you never coming back to this site again. Hope this helps.

The only explanation I can think of for this is that somebody legitimately set up an Google Ad that just has Carrot tops face. Why? Who knows

I don't believe setting up Google Ads are a highly moderated process, aside from pornography, so if someone just wants to advertise nothing except for some freakish image for shits and giggles, they can do so.

Then it just so happens, that ad is streaming through KYM and appearing on King Fu's browser because whatever random keywords that ad must be using is relevant to Kung Fu's browsing history

I can't image any kind of malware that would just hijack an adspace on arbitrary websites like that. I mean really, what is malware doing hacking an adspace? Is it lost? Don't they have passwords to keylog or something?

I can't imagine KYM has any software of its own that randomly replaces the adspace with anything else. Whatever comes from that adspace comes from Google Ad servers

When I was at my local library the other day I saw the same thing. I thought it was something the library put in to remove the hot nude ads, but I guess not.
