On the Escapist there is a feature where if a user desires to they can have a normal thread in addition to creating a poll that every user can see. Instead of having to include a link to another website with a poll in it, what if there was a polling feature that could be included in threads in order to calculate more opinions than just the people who post a comment. In personal polling experience on the Escapist I've found there are lots of people willing to click a simple button stating what option they support, but not nearly as many willing to post their opinion in the thread. Would a polling feature benefit KYM's forums?

Convenient as it is, I'm not sure if this is something worth the time to implement when things like Strawpoll are already easily available. That's not to say it wouldn't be nice, but I don't see it changing enough to warrant the effort. Just my 2 cents.

I think that's a pretty good idea. If KYM can have a general polling feature, why not a user-customized poll for forum threads? (Heck, I'd think this is the most useful in the Suggest Ideas board)
@Milotic
You do bring up a good point. But, I think adding it would add more convenience. IMO it's about "why not", unless if adding such a feature requires extensive coding.

This is a pretty good idea. The only putback is Milotic said, sites such as Strawpoll already exist for this exact type of thing, making the need for a polling option unneeded.
Yeah it's a nice idea but as is obvious every idea ever can't just be coded into the site unless it's really important, has tons of support, or there is a lot of time in which it can be made. Like KYM literally has 1 coder, and by literally I mean literally. We're not that big of a site like the escapist or reddit and that's something you have to remember epyc win before you pump out 20 suggestions a week. The dude has other projects including vital (and not so vital) bug fixes and the new mobile site, etc. Coding isn't that easy and we don't have endless funds and as many workers at hand as necessary to put in thousands of little probably useless add-ons. So I agree with this as an idea but keep in mind what I'm trying to say and what others have been trying to tell you for the past week. You can think of as many good (or not good) ideas as you want but the likeliness of it actually coming to pass anytime soon at least is minimal.
^In OP's defense though, ideas we initially thought difficult to add are often a cakewalk to James when we ask him if it would be possible.
It's more a case of the idea being useful enough to spend time on. I think thread polls certainly have some use with the different boards.
Regardless, pumping out 20 ideas a week is probs overkill. But then again, you'd need to filter through them for the actual good ideas. So it's up for question how much we're really asking from him in the end.
