Pretty self-explanatory. Instead of video/image galleries, what if there were mp3 galleries?

Just use a converter.

I think YouTube works just fine for that. That's where a lot of folks go for music anyway, and there's already a mechanism set up for that.

And in practice, there probably aren't a lot of songs or podcasts or anything that would be specific to most galleries. For example, an image macro gallery probably isn't going to have many, if any, audio uploads. A lot of memes are based around pictures or videos less than music, so it probably wouldn't get much use.

Soundcloud media files can already be uploaded in the Video Galleries.

Thus if anything would need to be changed, it would be to change "Video" to "Video / Audio". Video galleries don't receive enough uploads to consider audio a seperate gallery. If any, combining the two is only fairer to make them compete with the beast that is the image galleries.

You can upload both audio from Soundcloud and Tumblr to the video gallery from what I've tried. (Tumblr videos can be uploaded too btw.)
