I can't really rank the Eeveelutions so I'll just pick one from each gen.
1st Gen:Vaporeon
2nd Gen:Espeon
4th Gen:Glaceon

Non-Japanese wifi event. Go get yourself a muffukin' Keldeo. Excuse me as I continuously restart my game until I get a timid one.

Apart from that, accurate enough.

Though honestly, I fail to see how those traits add up to being a Dragonite.

I don't find this very accurate.
Some parts may be, but most of it really isn't.
Honestly, I don't want some false pride to fill myself with something like this, as this is really nothing to brag about.

And I don't know why I am a Togetic.

There will be an eeveelution for every type. There will be an eeveelution for every type combination. Every Pokemon in the gen will be an eeveelution. The starters, in fact, evolve into Eevee. You can not escape the reevolution!

I think the underlying concept behind Eevee evolutions is that they all resist their own type. Eevee's all about adapting to its environment, the Pokedex says so anyway, so it'll evolve into types that resist themselves, like Flareon resisting Fire. With that in mind, the only ones left are Poison and Steel.

As such, I'm expecting Toxeon and Mecheon in X and Y.

Ninfia or Nympheon is the first of two Eevee evolutions to be introduced in Pokemon X and Y. Much like Umbreon in Gen II was one of the first known Dark type pokemon, Nympheon of Gen VI is one of the first Light type pokemon. Much like the Dark, Pyschic, Fighting and the Grass, Water, Fire trinities, Light pokemon complete a trinity with Dragon and Steel types. As when Magnemite and Magneton retroactively had Steel added to their types, most of the Fairy egg group will have Light added as a secondary type, such as Chansey, Audino, and Clefairy.

Thanks to Tinsares for digging into the official pokemon X and Y website source code for this.

I can't confirm this, but it's noteworthy speculation nonetheless. I was expecting them to add a light type at some point. Also of note is that there is going to be a second new eeveelution as well (assuming this is true).

Check out the in-game screencap above its ear.

Looks like some fire. Obviously Flareon is so unsalvageable, they've just made a replacement Fire type evolution.

Told you that the starters would evolve into Eevee, bro.

I really, really hope this "Nympheon" isn't a fire, normal or a flying typed Pokemon.
Flying type is my worst strategic type, and will most likely be defeated easily by the abundance of Pokemon that are its weaknesses.
Fire is usually offensive while this Pokemon looks defensive. Also, Flareon already takes the cake for being the fire typed Eeveelution.
Normal type, although it would probably not is the worst typing for an Eeveelution. If it is a just a boosted Eevee, then I would only catch it as a trophy Pokemon. Normal types don't usually get high base stats or good moves.

I hope it's a new type or something. Because it's too adorable to be any of the types I mentioned above.

Also, the picture where it reveals the "Nympheon" is soo happy! Everything soooo happy!

Except for Umbreon! XD

Umbreon is soo happy that he is sad face.
He is actually so happy because of new eeveelution!

Okay, If they were to introduce a new type (like some have Sugested) I'd definitely have to say they should make it weak to poison.

Why?

Because Poison is near useless as a pure type. That's why. Only one thing it's effective against, grass, and you rarely need it for that since the three other types that beat grass also beat so many other types that you might as well use them. And even in cases of type combos, at least one of those types will be able to get through.

Statistically, Poison is useless save for the status effect, which is at most a hinderence. Any new types introdued should account for that to make balance.

Bullshit.

I'll eat my motherfucking hat if this is true.

EDIT: I just looked at the source code for the website and it says nothing of the sort. I even Ctrl+F'd "light" and I didn't see anything related to a new type.

Also, why would information like that be in the source code of a website? That doesn't even make sense.

EDIT2: "Light pokemon complete a trinity with Dragon and Steel types."

What the fuck are they smoking.

If Ninfia is actually its English name and not just the Japanese name I will be very disappoint.

It's just the Japanese.

Japan uses the -ia suffix for the eons: Leafia, Glacia, etc. When the game is released here, it'll be called Ninfion.

My ideal team: Dragonite, Mew, Blaziken, Groudon, Palkia, and… hmmm… It's hard for me to choose, but I'll go with Terrakion for #6.

Also, I would like to plug the Create-A-Pokémon Kitchen at Smogon.

Finally… Generation 6 is coming out already?!? I think it's only been a year or two since Generation 5! That might just be the shortest generation gap in Pokémon history… (The original games came out in 1995, and I'm positive that Gold and Silver came out before 2000 – 1998, I think – but I can't be arsed to do the research for the rest of the generation dates at the moment.)

Edit: Sorry for so many posts in a row – the KYM forums aren't quite what I'm used to. I remember that the Bittersweet Candy Bowl forums let you reply to multiple posts in the same message… a luxury that I apparently don't have here. Heck, I can't even seem to quote a "chain" of posts (quoting a post that quoted another post, and so on…) Oh well.

There's been rumors floating around each generation that "OMG this generation is finally going to bring in the Light types!" I guess most of these people aren't aware (or don't care) that the Dark Type is known as the "Evil" type in Japan. (Never mind that most Dark-type Pokémon aren't actually evil, just ruthless and/or selfish. Hydreigon is the only really evil Dark-type I can think of.)

For what it's worth, one rebuttal to those rumors I've heard is that Psychic is supposed to be the "light" type, due to certain Japanese folklore stuff regarding psychic powers… I think I read it on TV Tropes, but I'm not positive. To heavily paraphrase it, Psychic is basically the go-to type for purity of mind and… other stuff that gets associated with light… somehow… Look, Pokémon is Japanese. Japanese don't think of "light" the same way that Westerners do… they're Shinto, not Christian.
