Apparently Doshan has his character named Michael, and I also have an IRL friend named Michael. Thought I was challenging my IRL friend, ended up challengin Doshan.

He beat me with 4 Pokemon against a full party :I

I've mentioned my friend code in a past post (although I think I said to PM me for it), but I'd like to take this time to reiterate.

My friend code is: 1650-1482-4476

If you'd like to be friends, please send your own code my way. PM works fine, but I check this forum regularly, so posting here is fine too.

I'm also going to put my code on my KYM profile for future use.

Fishing update:

I tried my hand at fishing in the same spot I caught my shiny Shellder in for another shiny, no luck after about sixty or so casts. If I wasn't already balding, I'd be tearing my hair out.

I knew I should have sacrificed that goat to the RNG gods.

To be honest, i didn't know i could use more than four.
I thought it would be like the online double battles where they restrict the pokemon limit.

On another note, why don't they have some sort of WiiU/3DS adapter like the GameCube had for the GBA? I would pay a lot of money to play this game on a TV.

A Lot

So I was in one of my friends' Friend Safaris for grinding purposes, as it contains Aipom, Audino, and Chansey. I had just evolved my shiny Clauncher-now-Clawitzer (turned out that the shiny one and my old Clawitzer have near-identical IVs: no reason not to flaunt this thing online now) when I suddenly find a shiny Aipom.

This is both a blessing and a curse considering Ambipom's good moves are either Egg moves or learned via Move Tutors of past Gens. Glass half full though, cuz pink monkey.

Well hot diggidy damn, I guess since dreamworld abilities can appear on horde pokemon I have no excuse to not try and get a regenerator slowpoke now.

I'm hoping a good slowbro will be able to fend off all of the Mega Blazikens that apparently run amok in ranked wi-fi battles. Don't see why not since slowbro resists both of his stab moves and has great defense on top of that.

Was ready for a long ass battle to catch zygarde, caught on the first throw.
Yay
Also, he changes his type, so you can use electric types to paralyze him.

From what we can tell, you need to visit every cafe + major building in town (such as the art museum, restaurants, and Gym, though you don't need the badge from the latter), along with doing all of the part-time hotel jobs at least once. We haven't pegged down the exact requirements, but just entering and leaving every building in the city and doing those hotel jobs should get you in.

You only need to visit 1 cafe, not all.

Evidence? Because I'm fairly certain I had already visited all the shops in the inner circle, didn't got in, but once I did a run of possible cafe's I might've missed I did got in.

Also in related info on that, these "style points" will also make the Mega Stone the guy in the stone shop is selling cheaper. I got it down to 150k atm.

He's selling it for 100k for me because I beat the elite four.

…Still not sure if I'm gonna get it :I

Also, as far as I can tell, sushi high roller is a money pit- not worth it at all. Don't waste the 500k if you can.

Still trying to set up my team to defeat the elite four, and RM.
I got a Lucario, Delphox, Kabutops, Gengar, Altaria, Gardevoir, Charizard, Venusaur, Blaziken and a Wartortle.

I don't. What do yall think would make a good team?

^pokemon trainer
Alteria is garbage, don't even bother with it.
I'd say use either kabutops or make that wartortle a blastiose. Delphox, Blaziken, and charizard should all work fine, just choose whichever you want, Gardevoir should also be good for the dragon types and venusaur will also work good. If I had too choose, I'd probably say this.

1. Blaziken
2. Blastoise
3. Venusaur
4. gardevoir
5. lucario
6. gengar

You really shouldn't have too much trouble, at all. Hell , switch out gengar for alteria and teach it thunderbolt and thunder wave. That will come in handy.
As for beating RandomMan, invest in better pokemon. Alteria is one of the worst dragon types, it's stats are bad and its only thing going for it is natural cure. You can also teach it thunder wave and thunderbolt I guess which is useful, but there are plenty of better electric types to use. Gengar is really good…. If used well. He is horribly frail and you can't count on him to take any hits. You have to make sure you EV train him for speed and special attack. Also, make sure he has substitute. You also have too many repeat types, try to spread that out more. It's common sense, but I'll just say it, when making a team, don't just go on smogon and pick ou and über pokemon. Make sure you make a team full of pokemon that complement each other. Hope that helps.

Anyone want to trade with me so I can get a gengar plz?

I don't mind, but you can also easily check the GTS. Plenty of trainers there offer trade-evolutions and request the same ones in return. I got Gengar and Golum already through there. Bonus even that you then get the bonus experience for it being a Pokemon from someone else.

Also caught a fucking Ditto, breeding is going to be SO MUCH EASIER now.

@random
Thanks for the heads up, but the problem is that I bred it with with a specific nature so I want it back you know.

This is the Team I used for my very first Elite 4 Run through, and completed my first time.
Blaziken
Charizard
Lucario
Frogadier
Pikachu
An Egg

I'm still wondering how I made it with just that on my very first time.
Probably the bunch of Revives, and Hyper Potions.

I just want to say a thing…

… Although a lot of Legendaries are easier to catch than they were in other games (for me at least)… Mewtwo is like… The one Legendary that attempting to catch is still insane.

Like… The Recover move is annoying as hell. And it didn't help that my best pokemon were weak against his/her/it's attacks.

Well… Considering I still hadn't used a Master Ball at that point, it seemed as good a time as any.

Yay.

(P.S. I know you all want to call Mewtwo a Guy, but it's called "unknown gender" for a reason… That, and the Mewtwo in the Genesect Movie has been described as "More Feminine Sounding" than other Mewtwo. And it being the one that mega Evolved makes me raise an eye of it its the same one as the one we're meant to catch.)

Statement: I caught mewtwo with a quick ball after a few soft resets. Master ball is still just there, sitting in my inventory.

Really? A Quick Ball?

Those things must really be overpowered.

Note to self: when Catching Mewtwo on my other Game, Try that.

It has a 5x capture rate if thrown on the first turn, 1x otherwise.
Poke ball, great ball and ultra ball have a 1x, 1.5x and 2x capture rate respectively.

Xerneas and Yveltal have high catch rates in this game, since the game apparently FORCES you to catch them: I've been told that KOing them just makes them fight you again. I once I start a separate file on Y I need to find out what happens if you reach that point with zero Poke Balls on hand, for science.

The Lumiose City bug has been fixed. If you have an SD Card, you can scan the QR code corresponding to your game and download the patch off of the eShop. If you don't have an SD Card, go buy one.

I realize the text on this picture is Japanese, but the patch works for every language game.

I just realized…

If they can Patch in a fix to a Glitch… they can patch in entirely new content… Like Entirely New Pokemon if they want. Staggering out the generation without us even noticing.

… They probably won't though.

Still though, recent Rumors of the names of Three Pokemon that the game accepts as Canon are… Interesting regardless of if they were Patched in or not.

I'm sure anyone who's taken a look around the GTS recently may have seen the occasional request for one of them. And the fact their Names show up there when others request for them is supposedly proof of their existence.

I'm not sure if telling you more than that will ruin the fun for you or not. So you might want to check for yourself. Just search around on the GTS for a while, their name will pop up eventually.

I've gotten through most of X now, and my experiences with a few users here has been pleasant, so I'm going to go out on a limb and hand out my friend code: 0044-3106-4084

I'm not a competitive battler, so you likely won't see the same set-ups or Pokémon in battles. I don't really have a set team. I make changes based on what I'm experimenting with and who I'm playing once I know them. Think of it as being similar to Karen's preference to battling:

Strong Pokémon. Weak Pokémon. That is only the selfish perception of people. Truly skilled trainers should try to win with their favorites.

That tactic gets you beat down and swept very often in you're not playing by tiers, but I don't mind.

And I'm pretty easy-going with trades. I don't really care about legendaries outside of just having them in my Pokédex. (Unfortunately, RandomMan already has my Zygarde, so you can't have that. And I do like Xerneas, so I'd like to keep it. But once I catch this floating Articuno, then that's all yours. I might just ask to see your Yvetal or floating bird to have it in my Dex, and then you can trade me whatever to get the Articuno.)

I'm also not playing all that often what with work and other responsibilities, so unless I'm online, I may be 2, 3, or more days away from playing.

This was easily the best side-quest I've seen in Pokémon.

I have a sudden Feeling the First Event Pokemon is going to be announced on Halloween… Or perhaps that we'll get some context on the creepy stuff that's already in game…

… I mean… There's a Ghost Girl in a Building in Luminious City that just Appears out of Nowhere from behind you then walks off Screen and Disappears.

That stuff may be in game due to the game being Released in October and all… But seriously… I feel like October 31st is going to have a thing.

Or not… I'm just calling it in case it does happen. And I'm well aware I could be wrong… I usually am wrong. But not because I didn't expect a thing… But because I expected a thing that didn't happen.

#Ghost Pokemon #Event Legendary #Leaks #Predictions.

(Tumblr has Broken me, I'm using Hash Tags now.)

(And Don't say its too early for an event… Last time they had an Event at Launch day. Saving one up for just a few days and having a Halloween Event is Perfectly Plausible too.)

(…Also… A New Episode of Pokemon XY is Airing in Japan on October 31st… I have no clue of if they will Tease us with a Thing or not… Just trying to think of all possibilities here.)

(Yeah… I'm pretty much just Doing Wild Mass Guessing Combined with being hopeful and believing certain rumors about leaked Legendaries because of what's happening on the GTS. )

(I'm too Optimistic Aren't I?)

I have a friend whose Friend Safari has Chansey and Audino: Lucky Egg makes them worth about 2500 EXP apiece. When I get bored of that I just rematch the Elite 4 for extra cash as well as EXP (I still must finish collecting ALL OF THE CLOTHES).

Was searching through random acquaintances' profiles (don't look at me like that), saw this.

How the FUCK do you get that many "Nice!"s in less than one month?
HOW DOES THIS HAPPEN I'M ACTUALLY BOTHERED BY THIS

The only explanation I can think of is him and a bunch of friends flooding each other with Nices on a regular basis for kicks. Unless repeat Nice-ings don't count towards the tally, in which case brainwashing sorcery is the only option.

See his name? He's obviously Alpha as fuck.

Hence all the Nice.

But seriously, I agree with Jyron, its probably just his buddies giving Nices on a regular basis…

… or that brainwashing deal…

At first the thought of finally using the Masuda Method sounded super easy and fun, like a few hours at most per shiny hunt.

After spending days hatching over 300 Mawile eggs to no avail (with only enough Adamant ones in the lot that I could probably count them all using only my fingers no less), I think I maaay have been a touch too optimistic.

If the Masuda Method works the same way it did in 5th generation, then you're increasing the chances of finding a shiny from 1/8192 to 1/1365.

My calculator tells me that's still a 0.00073260073% chance.

"Optimistic" is an understatement after only 300 eggs, my friend.

Hey guys, just wondering if anybody who has the fire Friend safari zone could send me their friend code. I really want Larvesta, as I (stupidly) skipped out on Black and White, and I absolutely need the Pokemon equivalent of Mothra. My friend code is 485464670863.

I recently beat the Elite 4, and I'm thinking of trying out the Masuda Method now. One of my friends managed to get a shiny Goomy with it after about six boxes of the slimy little guy. Helps that he got a Japanese Ditto in a Wonder Trade (the lucky bastard).

Just got Pokemon Y yesterday
2191 8358 5863
Time to add everyone… After I play a bit more…

Edit: If you get someone called Universe / Menthol, that's me

Sup guys. First of all, happy Halloween.
Now lets get down to business. Someone at /vp/ messed around with the RAM and discovered these guys.

I have no strong feelings one way or the other about these pokemon. What do YOU guys think?

Also Diancie is fairy/rock
Volcanion is fire/water
Hoopa is psychic/ghost

Last edited Oct 31, 2013 at 06:05PM EDT

Diancie looks me like an evolved form of Carbink due to the lower part, plus even the type matches.

That is when they are confirmed of course, as we all know photoshop is something people are easily fooled by. People also managed to get fooled by Mega Jynx, so it wouldn't be that much of a suprise.

I don't have any Friend Safaris with Larvesta, but I have a couple of them regardless thanks to Wonder Trade. I'll give you one.

@Diancie, Volcanion, Hoopa pic.

I think all three look kinda… Off… To be considered Legendary.

Diancie has been noted to look too much like a certain other Rock Fairy.

Volcanion though being big enough to be a cover legendary is doesn't feel like one, being more on par with Ryhorn or something. Or Heatran maybe if you push it.

And Hoopa? It just… Looks too human to be a "cute" event Pokemon.

If these are supposed to be legendary Pokemon, I am very disappointed. On the other hand if they're just regular Pokemon and happen to be given out through an Event… That's fine.

Basically… Those are the most Underwhelming set of Pokemon I've Seen. And I can only hope they are instead some weird sign there's a Generation 6.5 or something, where this generation's new Pokemon are spread over two sets of games, and these are just the first ones unique to that region. Similar to how Fletchling may be the first non starter unique to Kalos, but you're more likely to see a Pidgy first.

Sigh… I'm just disappointed.
