That's the power of love~
Our bond is un-Brick-Breakable.
I'm trying to get some Friend Safaris.
My FC is 3754-6434-2416.
I don't quite know what safari type I have, nor do I know what Pokémon you could find in my safari, so could someone post here what type my safari is and what Pokémon you could find?
In other news:
Is it just me, or do eggs take a fucking century this generation? I swear, I was hatching some Fletchling eggs, and it felt like was riding back-and-forth on my bike for too long trying to hatch the goddamn things.
Why did I breed a Modest Speed Boost Torchic?
@Snarbolax: I'm a sucker for Friend Safaris. My FC is on my profile page. Also, are you making sure to have a Pokemon with Flame Body/Magma Armor in your party and/or use the Hatching Power? By using both of those at the same time, I find that even hatching the normally agonizing pseudo-legendary eggs is just a matter of a couple minutes.
@Ann Hiro: Because you could? Gimmick set? Science?

I deal with Talonflame with my trusty ol' shadowtag trick/choice scarf Gothitele. Locks statboosting sweepers into stat boosting themselves, most of the time and prevents them from switching out. Although you could just get a lanturn and call it a day.

No, because Torterra. Water/electric doesn't do anything to him. If talonflame is grounded with smack down, that means it can be hit by earthquake.
And then Swampert comes in, uses Ice Beam on Torterra, uses Rock Slide or Surf on Talonflame and uses Earthquake on Lantern. Beating them all and making Mudkip the best starter.
(Because type matchups seem to say ground doesn't do half damage to water for some reason.)
So yeah, I heard we have some very good reasons to like Mudkip.

Oh, of course. Lanturn isn't without fault. I'm not a very competitive battler, but I'm aware of its stats. Its Defense isn't good, its Special Defense isn't too much better, and its Special Attack is about the same. I've been hit with enough Sp. Atk-decreating Moonblasts (Thanks, Serena) to know that even what it does have in attacking prowess can be lowered by one or two stages incidentally into becoming something you'll just have to switch out.
But the logic on the last page was something that could stop a Talonflame from sweeping. With Lanturn's massive HP stat and its resistance to both Fire and Flying-moves (and Talonflame's above average, if not average Attack stat,) it should be able to get off a Surf or two.
This is assuming I don't pack Stockpile and Aqua Ring. I haven't seen my Lanturn against a Talonflame's STAB'ed, Flying Gem'ed Acrobatics or against its STAB'ed Flare Blitz, but it did take a hit or two from an Aegislash with a Swords Dance under its belt without fainting.
…The thingy with nearly twice the Attack of Talonflame when it goes on the offensive.
I'm not completely incompetent when it comes to battling. I generally have an idea of what everyone else is spending hours on.
…I just have a job and other things to do. I spend about thirty minutes trying to easily counter those tactics but most of my time trying to figure out how to make my favorites do that.
I can also send out a Ditto with a Choice Scarf just to screw with people.
Neither Lanturn or Ditto is usually enough to take out an entire team for another competent player, but they can keep you competitive if play it right.
All I have to say is…. Damn Oak you're voice is quite smooth.
Commentary:It would be nice if someone made a petition to make the ship between Calem and Serenea official, but who would be the one to carry out such a task?
Too bad they have her plan to be with Ash due to some when they where young bull shit.

I just noticed that Serena is a distorted version of the name of a Greek Moon Goddess…
Appropriate… Considering the main Fairy attack move, even for Xerneas, is "MoonBlast".

If you're wonder why i only have 4 pokemon, and not very good ones at that, its because i was just dicking about with steelix move sets that can utilize rest.

My Opinion on all this… Ash in the new season kinda looks like Calem anyways… Considering they both wear the exact same outfit. (Except no glasses for Ash and his hair is still very boyish rather than pretty.)
(You all probably wish you had Calem's hair don't you? I kinda wish we had the option of having (Player) Serena do her hair like his… And Dress kinda like him too but that's another story.)
Suggestion: This thread requires more ship.

I know that feel so well that I recently made a PC box just to store all of the Pokemon I have built for use in friendly/online matches. Though it's also partly because the greatly-simplified IV breeding + EV training this Gen makes it so much easier to experiment with competitive Pokemon without having to put up with the Pokemon Online/Showdown userbase.

Also Team Aqua thread a.k.a. Best team thread.
Archie, and Maxie remind me of Matt, and Pat for some strange reason.
Meowstic that's right!
I did a battle with only Meowstics.

Oh God I was gonna win… until the very end.
You gotta watch to see why I lost.
@Greyhoof
I reject the implication that Team Magma's Hoodies aren't the cutest thing ever and totally fashionable.
…Or maybe I just have a thing for girls in Hoodies..
In any case, I want the next generation to be set in the equivalent of Shibuya.
…I know we've kinda already been to Tokyo back with gen 1, except back then the resemblance to Tokyo was minimal, and hard to convey. And Most Importantly… Shibuya like areas were notably absent.
Shibuya, you say?
I can dig it.
Welp, got X. The tipping point for me on the purchase was when Ann showed me this girl:
Dammit! I had a Waifu Impulse Buy! DAMN YOU NINTENDOOOO!
Sooooo… how many of you who got X named their Xerneas Verbose?
Hey guys. I've been lurking here for awhile, thought I'd post.
My friend code is 3566-2117-5404. Feel free to add me.
My Y Friend Safari has is Flying type with Spearow, Tranquill, and Hawlucha. Not great, I know, but at least I can offer you Tranquill before Pokebank comes out. I'm currently looking for a Friend Safari with Fletchling or Fletchinder in it, since I want to train a Talonflame with the Gale Wings Ability. If you or a friend has a Friend Safari with one, I'd appreciate it if you could send me your/their Friend Code.
Is anyone else incapable of using the god damn game sync feature? I have successfully used it once. ONCE. Every other time for the past 3 days i have only gotten a server busy error.

I often get errors too, but it's understandable. It's still largely under construction while they work on the features of the new PGL. I wouldn't worry too much about it until about December, which is when I think PGL was due for a full-feature release coinciding with the release of Pokemon Bank.
Fifth Badge, so roughly halfway though. I am really liking the game thus far. A good amount of care was definitely weaved into the story, and I am getting a very Tales Series vibe from it. Which is a massive plus at least from my standpoint.
Current Team:
*Shiny Pidgeot
*Blastoise
*Meowstic
*Pikachu
*Delphox
*Lucario
Also, Lumiose City Clothing Store is a bunch of elitist pricks. Not to mention overpriced to the point of BULLSHIT.

I've been using the supertraining thing, and I've noticed that I've started to read the little text blurbs in the voice of Alex Louis Armstrong.
"These are the muscles that will make the future bright!"
Its just so perfect.

"This method of Pokemon training has been passed down the Armstrong line for generations."

I've been reading them more like…
"Your Muscles are the ones that will pierce the heavens, the earth, and through to tomorrow!"
Everyone is begging for Ash to actually have a relationship with Serena
And I'm just sitting here hoping he'll catch a Pokémon that I actually like.

I'm pretty happy right now because just look at what a pimp mother fucker shiny Metagross is.
And the best part is it has a couple of 31 IVs and even with a docile nature (based on this little simulator I have) I can just narrowly make it suitable for competitive use!

I have a steelix on my copy of black 2 with all 31 IVs and a perfect EV spread, and i cant even use the damn thing. I sure would be nice to show all those Talonflame users what a critical STAB Stone edge to the face feels like.
So you want to battle on Wifi. You've spent so much time breeding the perfect Pokemon, EV training, practicing battling, and you're finally ready. You get to battle in a place where only the most skilled win.
WELL TOO BAD, YOU DON'T GET TO!
Thanks to a new tool called the "X and Y Battle Analyzer", you can now see your opponent's Pokemon's nature, ability, IVs, EVs, and all four moves before you even start the battle! No need to worry about your opponents running surprise sets; with this tool, there are no surprises!
But wait, there's more! You can even SEE WHAT MOVE THE OPPONENT IS GOING TO USE ON THAT TURN. Prediction is a thing of the past!
All you need to run this fabulous program is a Windows computer! Who needs skill when you can cheat?
So what do you guys think about this program? It's pretty much going to ruin Wifi battles.

This is very sad. Especially for me, since I've actually started to battle a few people online whereas I used to just play within the game card. It doesn't even seem like you can tell if your opponent is using this. When X/Y and the 3DS made the biggest strides in battling random people online, but this would certainly keep the communities and battles less diverse.
If you're like me, don't use a lot of competitive Pokemon, and you just fight with the element of surprise and a little bit of skill, then this basically takes out any chance of being competitive.
And even for competitive battlers, they may use similar sets, but there's some variety involved as well. You can't even try to sneak someone with a Gyarados with some IV's invested in Special Attack or some odd move to screw with another player.
I don't know how it works, but maybe some patch can prevent players from using it once word of it gets out (akin to the Lumiose City patch.)

It's entirely possible that Nintendo will find out about this and take it down. Though if people already have it on their computers, they can't really stop that, can they? Besides, from what people are saying in that thread, most of them don't approve of it, or aren't planning to use it for serious battles. And it's most likely that it won't spread. Still, let's hope Nintendo patches this.

First of all, I posted a link to the thread on another message board where the guy originally posted it, because that would be the source and I don't expect you guys to take me at face value. I did not post a link to download it. Second, I trust that you guys are smart enough to not download it. And I'm kind of annoyed that you would accuse me of encouraging cheating when I'm clearly not.
So what would you guys say is a good moveset for a Scizor with perfect Attack IVs, Max EVs in Attack, Max EVs in Defence, and 6 EVs in Speed.?

Bug bite is a good STAB move on Scizor, and roost is nice as it goes well with Scizors natural defenses. Besides that you can go with u-turn maybe, Bullet punch is also an option as a priority STAB move, and if you want to sweep you can take sword dance.
