God, I was all like "oh ,charizard returns…hooray gen one,of course" BUT THEN, GRENINJA comes out of nowhere with water shuriken and is all hanging upside down like a boss and they show him most of the time. Greninja came in and just flipped off charizard! People are more excited about him than Charizard!!! For once, the other gen mon is etting all the awesome star power and not some gen one pokemon. God bless you super smash bros..Just,man..I really want to play Greninja in that game. mY favorite water pokemon just gets cooler and cooler.

So I bought X in November and completely ignored it until about 2 weeks ago and now can't stop playing. I figure I should take advantage of having a community of people to play with or something right? I'm going for national Pokedex completion at the moment, but I am also gonna become an IV breeder in training.

I basically have all the Kalos pokemon available in X caught, so trades for anything outside of that would be lovely

Well, actually, I feel okay about this.

Being a sheltered child who didn't discover Pokemon until his early teen years, my first foray into the Pokemon universe started with Sapphire. It wasn't until FireRed and LeafGreen came out that I even went back to Generation I. After that, I went back and played Crystal and Blue via emulator, but have yet to actually play the original Gold, Silver, or Red versions.

Do I even deserve my title?

Could someone trade me a useless pokemon holding an everstone? Being the talented person I am, I somehow managed to get rid of the pokemon that was holding mine and now breeding is nigh on impossible. I'll give you a pokemon with 4 or 5 ivs for it.

…Basically… I was too young to have any clue what I was doing… And I picked up my brother's game while he wasn't playing it… And promptly tried to figure out what was going on.

I think to my four year old (or whatever) mind at the time… The thing that made sense was that since the bird (which was a Pidgey for the record) was easy to make out and I had no idea what the other thing was… I thought my brother's Charmeleon was the opponent.

(Though my memory is fuzzy, I may have just misinterpreted which health bar belonged to who)

…And then… Somehow, against all odds… And against all common sense… I managed to beat said Pidgy… While thinking I was supposed to be doing the opposite.

Needless to say… That led to what in hindsight should be a very awkward moment after he explained to me what I actually did.

I was about 1 or 2 when the first games came out, but I didn't even know Pokemon games existed until gen 3 was released. I thought it was just the cartoon for the longest time. I don't think I played my first Pokemon game till I was about 10 or 11, so I guess you could consider me a late bloomer too. It's probably the biggest reason gen 3 is my favorite gen. Even though I didn't get that far in the anime, so the pokemon in R/S/E were still totally new and weird to me.

Aye, I feel the same way. My favorite generation was Generation IV, but Generation III is tied with it simply because it is the most nostalgic to me.

I was under the impression the second gen did not have an option for a female character? I had a used copy of gold for a short period (it stopped working shortly after I got it) and I distinctly remember being bummed there was no girl option.

There was no female player option prior to Crystal.

However…

They did replace the female character from Crystal in Heartgold and Soulsilver.

In Crystal, you could play as Kris. In HGSS, Kris was absent, being completely replaced by Lyra.

I never had my heart set on gen 3 remakes but it's cool to finally see it happen. And hopefully this means the return of secret bases!

The entry should be up-to-date as well now. Now all that's left it's getting that fucker confirmed (the entry, as the games now are).

Don't necessarily love the names (Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire 7/10 could be better) but fuck it because Hoenn is finally confirmed.

I just want to ask you guys a question, with all the hype going around do you think that Nintendo will make a bundle 3ds xl when this game come out? I'm just wondering because I'm thinking of getting a 3ds xl, I never even played Pokemon in my entire life. Oh well , got to try everything.

It's very possible they will do a bundle like this, especially with all the hype surrounding the games. If the bundle does happen I would definitely recommend taking advantage of it. Even if you only got the 3DS to play pokemon, you could potentially get hundreds of gameplay hours per game, but really there are plenty of good games out on 3DS already so even if you try pokemon and don't like it it would still be worth it just to have the 3DS.

I really hope Steven has a Mega Aggron. That will be a fight to remember.

So assuming the designs of Groudon and Kyorge are mega evolutions, I had this idea:

What if the Red Orb and Blue Orb were Groudonite and Kyorgeite all along?

Regarding May (and Brendan for that matter), you are forgetting a very important point here regardless of whether they use May again or a new character:

Customization! Can you imagine? May with other hair styles and other clothes?

But this of course may also ruin the odds of May returning, as Pokemon X and Y did offer the option to change your skin color, while May and Brendan are both caucasian.

If you are a fan, considering the few extra bucks for the limited edition would certainly be something to consider. I basically spend over 200 euros just so I could buy Pokemon X and Y when it was released, so I decided to go all out and got myself a bundle with the limited Blue Pokemon X and Y 3DS, which I'm very happy with.

Of course, they do cost some extra bucks, so it's up to you what you're willing to spend. But if you buy a bundle at the right place, the prize might differ maybe 10 euros/dollars, which isn't much if you're spending over 200 already anyways.

That possibility has already been brought forward and milked out everywhere on the web. But considering the orbs and how they match to the Mega Stones, the possibility is certainly there, and can fit in easily with the Team Magma/Aqua plot in the games.

However, in the image Groudon and Kyogre just sparkle. I dunno about you, but gaining the ability to sparkle sounds like a really lame mega evolution to me.

I might be in the minority on this, but I really hope this is a sequel, or at the very least not a word for word remake. If it is a remake, I'm hoping see something similar to the islands from FG/LG, cause when you get down to it Hoenn's pretty small, and putting the world in 3d will only make it feel that much smaller if they keep it as is. Aside from the typical more mega evos, bring back the battle frontier, and crank up the difficulty, I'm hoping for a graphical upgrade, specifically for the over world. I'm not much of a graphics whore, but with games like Kid Icarus and RE: Revelations already showing what the 3ds can produce, the Pokemon games could and should look a lot sharper than they do now.
