I found the Scariest Cybergadgeted PSS Icon to every haunt the GTS (In the Marshtomp listings appropriately enough)

If there is a streamer that frequents this thread, can you take a clearer image of this?

@Adam Deland

Welp, looks better than the last one and that's all I need! Seems like they learned from their mistakes and decided not to shove current gen Pokemon in our face… I'm actually pretty excited for this…

Since this is my first time on this thread (I think) and I don't have ORAS, I want to share my opinions on X/Y.

It's probably my least favorite main series Pokemon game.

-Graphics,Sound' & Gameplay is great, but MY hangup was the story. It's like a bad rehash of D/P/Pt. It's oversimplified. And I think it was TOO easy at the beginning. It might be because that I only started playing when I was 5-6 with FR/LG in 2006-07. By the time X/Y came out, I was 12 and actually tried to play seriously (I'd overlevel my starter and my other Pokemon were ~20 levels lower, now to mention I never l knew type adbvantages too well), so it went from very hard to very easy. It's actually difficult and a challenge now, but it's after the 5th-6th badge.

Not to mention the "rivals" SUCKED. they were always easy, except for Serena, which was only less easy, not actually hard. And not only did their battles suck, but so did their character! I played from FR/LG, R/S/E, Platinum, HeartGold, Black, Black 2, and Y, and the other 9 were great (I didn't finish Black 2 though, thanks to that game, I have a irrational hatred for Emolga) with rivals. They were great characters, funny, and put up a fight. THESE jokers in Kalos?

Also, aboutr Super Mystery Dungeon, I'm scared that they'll mess it up. I played the demo for Gates to Infinity, and…oh boy. I just hope it's litertally "Old PMD, but in 3D".

Last I heard about Hoopa is that we're supposed to get it sometime before August maybe.

Add me on ORAS if you need something bred/want to die by rain: 5198-2853-2778.

^ I really liked my XY friends lmao. Shauna is so cute!

Whatever you say, but what's the point of having a trainer battle if it's too easy?

This seems legit to me. (SOMEHOW)

I made a couple tweaks to this image since then (adding stuff about the legendarily, events of Megas) The only thing missing is montage parody elements (rainbow stoner background, Snoopdogg.gif, "deal with it" shades, etc.) If anyone can add these elements, that;s be appreciated

{ Whatever you say, but what’s the point of having a trainer battle if it’s too easy? }

It's not easy… for six year olds. We're not PKMN's target audience.
That's why the competitive scene and Battle Maison/etc exist.

INB4 complaints about the Battle Frontier not being in ORAS despite it being harder than the Maison and then blaming that interview for it

@StoneColdKillerWhale
20 or something late response, but I got a story.

So I was breeding for a modest nature Noibat shiny with shiny charm and masuda method. I was getting pretty tired after the 200th or so Noibat, and I was running out of places to put them (And trading them away was a pain). So most of the time I didn't pay attention to what I was doing and just was going automatic breed mode. But lucky me, I got a shiny noibat on my 400th egg hatched. A few weeks later after taking a break from breeding, I opened up my 3DS and was trying to remember what I was doing. I saw I still had eggs on my character and assumed I was still breeding for a shiny noibat. After a while of breeding, I thought to myself "Man, it can't take THIS long, can it?" So I went into the pokedex to see if I had the shiny appearance on the noibat entry. Turns out I did and I accidentally bred 41 more noibats than I needed to.

I… Did not realize how much stats change moves effect things until I looked up the maths. It's like… One Swords Dance doubles your attack, a second triples it, and a third freaking quadruples it.

The early part of Pokemon single player does NOT do enough to show the scale that those moves can change the outcome.

Is this why Sweepers are capable of cutting through just about anything? Even things they're weak against?

… Though I suppose having a coverage move removes the need for more than one use of stat move.

Its that weird moment when I realize I've been playing wrong.

Side note: No word from E3 on new game… So… Huh… Then again, they usually use Famitsu for that.

{ Is this why Sweepers are capable of cutting through just about anything? Even things they’re weak against? }

Yes. Your IVs and nature/EV spread effect this as well. Then stack a good item on top of all that. Then sweep.
If you start looking all this up and get intimidated just remember that breeding has never been easier than it is in XY/ORAS. All it takes is time (and once you build up a good stock of 5-6IV males from every breeding group, it takes even less time).

How many of you remember the WiFi Square from Platinum? For those of you who don't, it was essentially the closest thing we ever got to an MMO Hub.. mind you, each room only took 20 people, and you were on a time limit.. but it was glorious. There were minigames, and cute little things you could do on the overworld, and as the timer started to run out, the lights would dim, fireworks start going off, and you are put onto a float shaped like a Pokemon. It was awesome, and I'd like to see something like it again. I think we can all agree that despite it being a core mechanic since the series inception, multiplayer interactivity is, well… less than stellar. And that's why I think something like Platinum's WiFi Plaza would be great for making new friends and getting some actually fucking decent interactivity in. Seriously, the series has been around for 20 years, and online capabilities for the games has been around for about 8. Game Freak needs to get their shit together.

I understand that completely, but I also think you misunderstand. I was not asking for a Pokemon MMO, per se… I was asking for something more akin to Platinum's WiFi Plaza, a sort of.. chatroom, if you will, with minigames and stuff. The WiFi Plaza was the closest thing we did get to something resembling an MMO, however.

tbh I think "WOW has a monopoly on MMOs" and "even tho PKMN is really popular and makes a lot of money MMOs are really expensive to make" are fairly poor arguments either way. I think the most reasonable argument is "PKMN is primarily aimed at children under 13 who are by federal law not allowed to use internet chat rooms or forums so implementing unlimited/unmonitored wifi communication probably sets off some gray area alarm bells that their legal team would rather not go to war over".

I think Secret Bases would be REALLY fuckin' cool if we could assign 5-10 "best friends" that we could get improved communication with. They would be able to find your Secret Base in real time in game and meet you there, you could "chat"/draw picture messages (or just write notes) in your Base together, maybe you could get real time updates on those people on TVs throughout the game (like mixing records would do). Stuff like that, it doesn't have to be full on MMO, just a bit more fun for friends.

I still think going the WiFi plaza route would be one of the best courses to take, as cool as Secret Bases are~. Or, I'm just extremely biased since Platinum holds a VERY special place in my heart, being the first Pokemon game I owned.

Hey, remember back when I said I haven't played Gen 6? Well, I just finished X. Here's my final team:

-(Mega) Gengar, Lv. 72 with Shadow Ball, Sludge Bomb, Dazzling Gleam, and Thunderbolt (Finally found one on the GTS after like three hours. She's been a really awesome prank-sis.)
-Aggron, Lv. 70 with Strength, Dig, Iron Tail, and Heavy Slam (I Wonder Traded a Lv. 1 Zubat for him.)
-Delphox, Lv. 66 with Psychic, Fire Blast, Psyshock, and Mystical Fire
-Talonflame, Lv. 65 with Flame Charge, Brave Bird, Steel Wing, and Fly
-(Mega) Lucario, Lv. 63 with Dragon Pulse, Swords Dance, Shadow Claw, and Aura Sphere
-Lapras, Lv. 58 with Thunderbolt, Waterfall, Surf, and Ice Beam

In other news, I am one Slurpuff away from getting a complete Living dex (as in, no gaps from events, all pokemon needed for pokedex completion, at least one of each)

If you're interested in the Dragonite family with Extreme Speed (which helped me very nearly get to 100 straight wins in Battle Maison before I accidentally dislodged the game card at 98 wins), then this is the last weekend you can get it from GameStop.

If you can't get to a GameStop or something though, I bred a ton of Dratini with Extreme Speed too. So I can give one to you as well. I don't really want anything in return. I do want to complete the National Dex too, but I have to make a list of what all I need first, and I'm not sure how I'll go about getting the legendaries (I don't like most. I just want them for the Dex. Except Deoxys. Deoxys is cool.)

Double posting for Diancie.

I missed the code-related Diancie giveaway a while back, so I'm looking forward to this one this weekend. It looks like you can just connect to Nintendo Wi-Fi for this one though.

Since I live in Malaysia, I have rely on Nintendo Network event.

This basically means Diancie is my first event Pokemon that I will ever receive. (I did receive Pinsir and Pumpkaboo from Nintendo Network before)

I wish the Pokémon Company and Game Freak weren't so overprotective of their IP.
Their amiibo only work in Smash Bros., no MK8 costumes, no Yoshi's Woolly World colors, and I'm gonna assume no sprites for Super Mario Maker.

It's odd how they don't mind having their IP in Smash, but not in other Nintendo games…

The Zygarde forms look cool, and the dog form is really cute, although I think it's weird that he gains limbs, then loses them again, then gains them again. lolwut

Random, but does anyone play on pokemon showdown here? I've been playing a troll baton pass team that aims to sweep with a random Eviolite Murkrow. I managed to sweep some kid's team of ubers with it yesterday, pretty lulzy.

So, with Z essentially confirmed and ORAS already almost a year old (what the fuck), what are everyone's thoughts on Gen 6 so far? Mine is basically… meh. I'm going to focus on XY and Gen 5, since I'll be referencing Gen 5 a lot. XY was… to put it bluntly… just.. not exciting. Don't get me wrong, I still love them. Just they didn't blow my mind like Gen 5 did.

I'm going to be acting like Gen 5 is the second coming of jeebus a little bit so bear with me. Gen 5 was, for me, the best Pokemon could do. What made Gen 5 so great was all the little things. The music changes. The seasons. And then there were some of the bigger things like the story and REAL ACTUAL CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT. I mean for fuck's sake, there are underlying tones of child abuse, insanity, murder, and animal abuse. XY didn't have that. (Yes, I know Lysandre tried to murder everyone with a giant laser but that's more silly cheesy Bond villain type stuff…) XY just didn't have… atmosphere like Gen 5 did. XY was sub-par for a reason, and it's a reasonable and simple one: The 3ds brought so many new opportunities for gameplay and graphics. They didn't know what they could do, so they tested it with XY. That's why ORAS seems to be so much better. It's because they now know what they can do, so we can assume Z is going to be a MASSIVE improvement over XY. But, in my opinion, Gen 5 is still better, aesthetically and partly even gameplay wise. XY has little to no postgame if you aren't a competitive battler or intent on getting a specific shiny Pokemon..

So to wrap this up, XY was sub-par in my eyes and Gen 5 is still better. And it was because of the little things, not all this fancy shit. Z is looking promising, however.

So… Its probably been way too long for me to notice this, but has anybody noticed that the Black+White saga could be read as a social commentary on the state of idealogical discussion in America in the last decade?

Got my Hoopa, what a freaky creature.

Additionally while I was training it I found a Shiny Shuppet, which is nice as I wouldn't even have picked my DS up this week if not for the event. Double Get!

Nice on the Shuppet find, especially with the Banette Mega Evolution.

I recently Wonder Traded and got a shiny Sableye. More recently, I inadvertently bred a shiny Tepig. Massive boar with blue flames.

Speaking of Hoopa though, the US will have access come late November.

…at McDonald's.

Dammit, I'm only ever able to get to McDonald's for a quick breakfast. I wonder if you can get one in the drive-thru?

Shit they really make ppl jump through serious hoops (lol) to get the eventmons sometimes.

I might write GF a "strongly-worded" letter. Getting the ORAS demo was just a ridiculous chore. There are occasions when it's harmful to the consumer e.g. asking them to go to a fast food store to get full content out of the game. And then they wonder why so many players hack the game.

How good is their Wi-fi? Could you just pull into the parking lot and get it?

Small event going on, free sludge bomb Zoroark.

Also fuck, I don't want to go inside a McDonalds to get 2 Hoopas, I spill enough spaghetti at home as it is.

Well guys, I managed to complete the National Dex in Omega Ruby. It was tedious as fuck, and I never intend to do it again, but it feels good to accomplish one of the main goals of Pokemon.

Your Boxes be like

Well, the good news is that Pokémon Bank will make that a little easier for future games. The problem is that a lot of those spaces are used for favorite Pokémon previous games that aren't bred (e.g., my Blaziken named PYRON from my very first Pokémon Ruby game) or bred Pokémon babies and parents with IV's, Natures, and Egg Moves.

And even if you did make space, you'd have to have/find the pre-evolved versions to send over. So you may have your Feraligatr evolved up from Totodile and Croconaw with all 3 being in your Dex. But you'd have to breed the Feraligatr again to get a Totodile and Croconaw in the next game. And that's not counting the legends you may have traded off and don't have immediate access to. And that doesn't consider bringing them into the game from Bank, which can take some time (although, the system is still extremely streamlined from what it once was in just Gen 5.)

I've been slowly going through to get some of the Pokémon I don't have for my Secret Base decorations. I really want the National Dex certificate myself. I hope whatever game, Z or Delta, has Battle Frontier pls pls pls pls pls and Secret Bases of some sort. It could stand to have more to it regarding mini games or such, but I get how the devs may want to focus more on fashion (the "reason" they didn't have many clothes changes in ORAS) instead of putting a ton of effort and resources on everything but the actual game itself.
