As pointed out my Geoff himself, Striking Distance Studios is a company started by people who also created Dead Space. Callisto Protocol looks like it's going to be the spiritual successor to Dead Space since it's unlikely EA will ever greenlight Dead Space 4.

"Hispanic" is a better gender neutral term IMO.

Also that quicky concert was cool but odd they didn't play a song from Sunshine. Still the rendition of the Peach's Castle music makes me hope one day we'll get a remake of SM64 instead of a port. Also drummer lady was super happy while everyone else looked super serious, heh.

I'm not a Spanish speaker or Latin American, but as someone who considers themselves NB: throwing an "x" at the end of words does not make them gender-neutral, it just makes them sound incredibly awful to say. Plus even with my rudimentary exposure to the Spanish language putting an x at the end of "latin" doesn't mesh well with the language

Wait what?! That new Vin Diesel game is Ark 2?! I was hoping it was a new IP from Diesel's own studio. Still I always heard mixed things about Ark in general and that pirate game from the same devs went over rather poorly. Hopefully this one will turn out more interesting.

Oh shit Ghosts n' Goblins remake

With the NES and SNES games also on the Switch's Online apps, a whole new generation is being introduced to just how punishing that series is.

Best Indie Game: Hades
Best Audio Design: The Last Of Us Part II
Best Role Playing Game: Final Fantasy VII Remake
Best Sim/Strategy Game: Microsoft Flight Simulator
Player's Voice: Ghost Of Tsushima
Best Fighting Game: Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate

Odd they called the Returnal trailer a "world premiere" when Sony already revealed the game during the PS5 showcase months ago. Game looks really cool though, combining high octane action with what looks to be an interesting story.

Reggie's coming up next and I wonder if he's gonna lead into a reveal for something.

Among Us is quite the success story. Came out in 2018 and was very underground for two years, and all of a sudden it rose in popularity in 2020 and is now the year's biggest indie game.

Probably the pandemic that caused it's massive rise due to everyone trying to organise parties online and similar stuff.

I was hoping for Alanah personally.

And yep the datamined leaks were right, Master Chief is indeed coming to Fortnite. So now we have Kratos for Sony, Chief for Microsoft, all that leaves is a Nintendo rep.

EDIT: And now Daryl and Michonne from Walking Dead are gonna be in Fortnite as well. By the end of Fortnite's life I feel like most every IP will be in Fortnite in some way.

Keanu Reeves presenting an award won by Last of Us 2 makes me think certain parts of Reddit are about to have a critical meltdown.

And oh boy GOTY is next, if LoU2 wins this one too then I probably need to grab popcorn gifs.

Looks like this one will be a true Mass Effect 4. Hopefully it's made by BioWare's A-team rather than the C-team they farmed Andromeda out to. Also hopefully for once in their damn life EA won't force them to use Frostbite, only DICE knows how to use it properly. They're fine with Respawn using Source and Unreal, please just let BioWare use Unreal 4, they used Unreal 3 for the entire original trilogy and it worked just fine.

THE LAST OF US PART II WINS GAME OF THE YEAR!

Edit: Don't shoot the messenger.

And now is my opportunity to say that I actually did in fact get LoU2 recently thanks to a combination of black Friday and other Gamestop Pro member discounts so I got it for around $20.

Stay tuned for an eventually thread where I go "hello I'm Mistress Fortune, I play controversial games so you don't have to. Last of Us 2, was it worth all the Dorito Pope's awards, or did Ghost of Tsushima get robbed big time?"

Sounds like a thread worth reading.

I had a dream where Sly Cooper was revealed for Smash and his reveal had him steal the invite from Abby, Sly was even aided by Lucina which the trailer establishes as being one of the people who didn't like TLOU Part II.

Feel free to come up with what Lucina would say to Abby

So yeah, my opinions of award shows (they're garbage) hasn't changed after this one either. An appropriate TGA for an appropriate year, IMO.

On a side note, I just hope is that Sephiroth comes with a decent amount of music tracks.

Considering it's Square we're talking about we'll probably get around 3 – 4 songs tops, they're notoriously stingy with their music.

My plan is this. First I'm gonna replay LoU1 to keep everything that happens in that game fresh in my head and remind myself in full detail why people such as myself loved that game. Then I'll hop right into LoU2 and see how it fairs. Best case scenario is I find it to be a pretty competent stealth action game with a weak story, worst case scenario it makes me want to never play it again and I immediately play Days Gone right after to see if Bend Studios made the better zombie game all along (I've actually been meaning to play Days Gone again, I originally shelved it due to some pretty annoying bugs but I've heard thankfully they've fixed them).

@Ozzim

Oh yeah big time, Doom Eternal should have won Best Audio IMO.
