An Foid / An Chud refers to a series of ironic memes that recaption other templates with the slang terms "foid" and "chud" and intentionally misuse "an" instead of "a" before the noun. The trend developed into slang overload posts that used words like foid, chud, Diddy, Diddy Blud and Agartha, among others. The memes seemingly mocked the earnest use of foid online by incels, by using "an foid" to symbolize low intellect. The memes originally surfaced on Instagram in November 2025, later spreading to X / Twitter and TikTok.

Origin

On November 26th, 2025, Instagram^[1] user @jonkye4 shared a recaptioned graphic T-shirt image, making it read, "My sister is an foid," gaining over 7,800 likes in a month.

Earlier on that same day, Instagram^[8] user @jonkye4 shared a meme that recaptioned "the foids" into a Will Smith Slapping Chris Rock meme with Elon Musk photoshopped over Smith and Russian President Vladimir Putin photoshopped over Rock. The caption read, "How I feel after I slap the foids and won the conversation." It gained over 1,400 likes over the same timeframe.

Spread

In the following days, others on Instagram built on the An Foid meme. For instance, on November 30th, 2025, Instagram^[2] user @deepintelligenthiphop shared a recaptioned text image, reading, "My mom is an fucking foid." Over one month, the post gained over 29,700 likes.

On December 2nd, Instagram^[7] user @geeler shared a collaborative post with five other accounts, showing a recaption T-shirt that read, "We have an chud, we call him grandpa." Over three weeks, the post gained over 12,300 likes.

On December 11th, 2025, Instagram^[3] users @deepintelligenthiphop and @jonkye4 shared a collaborative Reel using the Dog Balancing Three Cups of Water meme in a video caption format, reading, "Trying not to call my girl an foid in front of her parents." Over 12 days, the video received over 41,500 likes.

Also on December 11th, Instagram^[4] user @spacecowboyryan shared a Pauly D Shouting meme, reading in top and bottom Impact font captions, "My sister is an foid." Over 12 days, the post gained over 47,600 likes.

On December 22nd, X^[5] user @sexytwerp tweeted, "I just realise my mom an foid," gaining over 4,300 likes in a day.

Also on December 22nd, 2025, TikToker^[6] @333sadist333 posted a video caption meme, using a Goatis clip, with the caption, "When you find out that even your waifu body pillow is an foid so you have to slime her out too just like the rest." In a day, the post received over 5,900 likes.
