About

Andy Closing Laptop is a reaction image GIF of Andy from a scene in Toy Story 3 closing a laptop and turning away from the screen, exhausted.

A GIF of the scene was first uploaded online as early as April 2017. It became the subject of memes throughout the 2020s. Some of the earliest memes include image macros that attach a caption to the clip.

The meme proved considerably popular on X between 2025 and 2026. Most notably, in February 2026, an X thread went viral where the GIF was used numerous times, ending with a reverse version of the GIF where Andy opens his laptop.

Origin

In one scene in Toy Story 3, Andy's mom urges him to sell his toys online, otherwise, she'll throw them out or pack them away. Andy says he doesn't care, closes his laptop, and turns in his chair, exhausted. He then puts all of his toys except for Woody into a garbage bag.[1]
