About

Baby Jane Doe is an abandoned, nameless baby featured in the second season of the medical drama TV series The Pitt. The second season began in January 2026, with the first episode introducing the baby. As the season aired on TV, Baby Jane Doe became the subject of memes online.

One of the most viral memes surrounds the way that the character Dana Evans (played by actress Katherine LaNasa) says, "Baby Jane Doe," in her Pittsburgh accent, putting added emphasis on "Doe." The memes inspired videos where actors try to say the line as accurately as possible to Dana's accent.

Origin

Baby Jane Doe is introduced in The Pitt season two, episode one, which aired on January 8th, 2026. The Pitt is a medical drama series, where each episode takes place in real-time over a single hour of a day in a Pittsburgh emergency room.

In the episode, she is found abandoned in the hospital's waiting room bathroom. Doctors Samira Mohan and Al-Hashimi take responsibility for the baby, who is found to be over 28 days old, meaning that whoever abandoned her committed a crime. If the baby was found under 28 days old, the abandonment would have been considered a safe haven surrender.[1]

Baby Jane Doe featured prominently in the season. One notable scene takes place in the seventh episode of season two, where Dr. Trinity Santos calms Baby Jane Doe by singing a Filipino lullaby to her.[2]
