Bowie Knife99 or BowieKnife99 is an AI driver or "Drivatar" in the 2026 racing video game Forza Horizon 6, who became infamous on social media for aggressively taking out players during races, including by knocking them off track and crushing them from above, among other hostile driving moves.

Forza Horizon 6 was released on May 19th, 2026, and clips of Bowie Knife99 started going viral over the following days on sites including TikTok, X / Twitter and Reddit. Bowie Knife99 inspired memes about being the "ultimate villain" of the game, similar to the CPU opponent Matt Mii in Wii Sports, which portray him as the most aggressive and powerful driver in Forza Horizon 6.

Origin

On May 19th, 2026, the racing video game Forza Horizon 6 was released. The game features AI drivers and NPC opponents known as "Drivatars" that are meant to challenge players in races.

Following the game's release, some players noticed that a Drivatar by the name of Bowie Knife99 seemed overpowered and had a tendency to violently push players off tracks by fishtailing them or running into their car aggressively.

One of the earliest examples was uploaded by TikToker^[1] @neph_ew on May 20th, 2026, showing Bowie Knife99 drive into the front of a player's car from off-track, garnering over 494,000 views in six days.

Clips of Bowie Knife99 aggressively driving players off the road, along with memes about Bowie Knife99, continued to go viral on social media throughout May 2026 as the NPC grew in notoriety online.

On May 21st, 2026, TikToker^[2] @hepatitusba4jr posted a meme about Bowie Knife99 using a scene from Breaking Bad in which Jesse Pinkman describes Walter White as "the devil" to Hank Schrader, garnering over 899,000 views in five days.

On May 22nd, the team behind Forza Horizon 6 announced that they were making updates to Drivatars in the game to balance them.

That day, X^[3] user @KiyyDumb posted a screenshot of the update, writing, "Bowieknife99’s regin of terror might come to an end soon 🙏🙏," gaining over 9,600 likes in four days.

Also on May 22nd, 2026, X^[4] user @kaz_maniandevil quoted @kiyydumb's post with a clip of Bowie Knife99 pushing a player off the race track, causing them to careen down a hillside, writing, "genuinely what is their problem," garnering over 4,100 likes in four days.

On May 24th, the X^[5] gimmick account @BowieKnife99, which roleplays as Bowie Knife99, made a post using the I Will Find You And I Will Kill You copypasta from the film Taken that gained over 32,000 likes in two days.

On May 25th, 2026, the official @xboxuk X^[6] account posted, "Happy Bank Holiday Monday to everyone except bowie knife99," gaining over 50,000 likes in a day.

That day, X^[7] user @arielsis posted a clip of Bowie Knife99 landing on another car from behind, writing, "Another victim of bowieknife99 in Forza Horizon 6," garnering over 40,000 likes in a day.

The clip was originally uploaded to the /r/ForzaHorizon^[8] subreddit by Redditor mirallas2323, garnering over 11,000 upvotes in the same span of time.

Later on May 25th, 2026, TikToker^[9] @scri.pt posted a POV meme and video of themselves playing Forza Horizon 6 aggressively like Bowie Knife99, captioned, "POV: you channel your inner bowie knife," garnering over 2 million views in a day.
