Boy Kibble is an internet slang term that refers to simple dishes consisting of rice (or other grain) and ground protein such as turkey or beef. The meal, popular with bodybuilders and meal planners, was given the name due to its supposed resemblance to dog food. The term gained popularity on TikTok in 2025, closely mirroring related trends such as Girl Dinner

Beginning in 2026, mainstream media outlets reported on "Boy Kibble" as a legitimate Gen Z food trend rather than a nickname for a common, long-standing dish.

Origin

No single person is universally credited with coining the phrase, though it appears to have first entered use in 2025. Like many internet slang terms, it spread through ironic, self-deprecating posts joking about eating bland, efficient “fuel” that looks unappealing but is healthy and easy to make.

On August 1st, 2025, TikTok^[2] user @patty.plates posted a video, jokingly claiming that "dog food" transformed his body. The video received 1.6 million views and 133,000 likes in less than one year.
