Memes about Digging in Yo Butt surfaced en masse on Instagram, Twitter / X and TikTok in 2025. In July 2025, a TikToker created a video called Start Digging In Yo Butt, Twin, also known as SDIYBT, which showed a robot SpongeBob SquarePants telling Plankton to start digging in his butt.

Origin

Sometime in early 2019, a meme was created by a currently unknown user, which showed rapper NBA YoungBoy in a three-panel template, saying, "I can care less if we stop talking / cuz regardless of if we talking or not / imma still dig in my butt" (shown below).

The first known reference to the meme was in a Reddit comment on the /r/im14andthisisdeep^[2] subreddit that was posted on March 14th, 2019. The meme's first known repost was posted by iFunny ^[1] user @coughing on July 30th, gaining 24 smiles in six years.

On November 22nd, 2024, Instagram^[3] user @yocrizp reposted the abovementioned meme, gaining over 10,000 likes in eight months.

On May 16th, 2025, Instagram^[4] user @notesonifone posted a Jarvis Commands meme with comedian Kevin Hart, reading, "Jarvis, start diggin' in my butt." Over two months, the post gained over 114,900 likes (shown below).

On June 24th, Instagram^[5] user @coconutking.mp4 posted a Goku Prowler meme with Impact font captions reading, "I know you dig in yo butt twin," receiving over 78,300 likes in two weeks (shown below).

On June 27th, 2025 Instagram^[6] user @coconutking.mp4 posted a "Smell Your Fingers" meme showing actor Leonardo DiCaprio, in which "you been digging in yo butt" was added in the caption. Over 11 days, the post received over 15,400 likes (shown below).

On July 7th, X^[7] user @hoodheresies07 tweeted a parody creepypasta YouTube thumbnail about "5 bone-chilling stories that will make you dig in yo butt," gaining over 17,000 likes in a day (shown below).
