The report claims that Trump took a secret flight from Turkey on a military aircraft other than Air Force One, despite it being reported that he was on Air Force One. Reports that Trump was snuck onto a plane in a catering truck went viral in mid-August 2026 and inspired memes about Trump hiding in a food truck or cart.

On August 10th, 2026, the Washington Post^[1] reported that President Donald Trump took a "secret flight" from Turkey back to the U.S. after the NATO summit, which took place on July 7th through the 8th at the Beştepe Presidential Complex in Ankara, Turkey.

According to the report, Trump was said to be on Air Force One, but was actually on another military plane. He was reportedly moved to the plane in a catering truck and swapped out with a Secret Service Agent.

That day, a video of the purported catering truck also spread online. For example, it was posted by X^[2] / Twitter user @nicksortor on August 10th, garnering over 27,000 likes and 3,800 reposts in four days.

On August 11th, 2012, an image purportedly showing Donald Trump hiding in the catering cart on the truck started circulating online, including on Facebook^[3] and Bluesky.^[4] American financier and broadcaster Anthony Scaramucci posted the meme to X^[5] that same day, garnering over 17,000 likes in three days.

On August 12th, the image was then debunked as fake by Snopes.^[6]

Also on August 11th, X^[7] user @iraninyerevan posted an AI-generated video that shows Trump hiding in the catering truck, garnering over 11,000 likes in three days.

On August 13th, 2026, Redditor BrentBulkhead posted a version of the Saddam Hussein's Hiding Place meme to the /r/memes^[8] subreddit, which depicted a red silhouette of Trump being loaded into Air Force One from a catering truck, receiving over 4,800 upvotes and 150 comments in one day before it was removed by moderators.
